been here a few times an i really enjoy there omelettes, i call all the time and place carry out orders, i happens to have a very bad experience lat Saturday i was there. i order me an orange juice to drink and to my surprise the orange juice had gone bad it was DISGUSTING, i asked the waitress if she could bring me another orange juice, she took mine back and i thought she would bring me back one that was not expired but instead i believe she brought me back the same one. I mention it once again to her and she seemed upset so i told her she could taste it and see that i am not a lying, of course she was not going to do that so she took it back and brought me another drink, this time the orange juice did taste right. i understand it was really early in the morning but restaurants should really check the freshness of there food before opening up to the public every day.

The food just isnt good. Ive been there several times over the past ~7 years Ive been living in the Dayton area, and it was, at best, mediocre, and usually just bad. The biscuits & gravy in particular were awful. That seems like a dish that should be hard to screw up, but the biscuits were dry and floury, while the gravy was plain. Had other stuff like pancakes, eggs & sausage and it was just really uninspiring. I kept going back partly because Id be up early wanting something to eat and this would be one of the only non-chain places open, and partly because Id see good reviews and assume I probably just got the wrong cook/wrong meal. But the food has never been good any of the times that Ive went there. I really dont get why the reviews for this place are generally good. The service was good, but the food overall is just bad. I recommend you eat somewhere else.

The service was fine but the food was not good and it was way over priced. The pancakes tasted like they were made with a box mix. The "home fries" were ok but the portion was small. They had a special advertised for $3.95 that included eggs, bacon, and pancakes; the only difference between that and what I got was the home fries instead of the eggs. My meal cost almost $14! I feel like I got majorly ripped off.

Long time standing local greasy spoon that serves both breakfast & lunch, but Ive only eaten "lunch food" here 1 time. IMO, seems more like a breakfast joint. Pancakes & eggs here are delicious. Fish sandwich was decent. My husband likes their biscuits & gravy, but Im not a fan, as to me it tastes more like uncooked flour & is pasty. Place is almost always busy, usually requiring a wait to be seated.

If you want comfort food and fast service, come and eat at Hasty Tasty especially for breakfast. The waitresses are homey and talk you with a bit of an attitude, like its your mother or aunt. I love it. Theyll give you a ton of food and fill you up and still leave money in your wallet. Im 31 now and still drive 30 mins to eat here. Come and be yourself in this laid back atmosphere.

What most people dont know is that almost the entire staff are drug addict pill heads and they will do most anything for their drugs and the owner knows and condones this. I know this fact as my soon to be ex-wife is one of the waitresses and im leaving her because of her bad drug addiction stemming from this place. If you love drug addicts then youll love the hasty tasty!

Great environment. Very friendly and family oriented. Great prices. Went with my wife and our 15 month old son. We were taken care of quite adequately, with exceptional care focused on our son. Food was phenomenal and well worth the price. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who has not been there before and will definitely return in the future.

Comfy environment, staff treats you like family, great food. It was our second time here and we tried the AYCE fish: steaming hot, lightly breaded, not too greasy, full of flavour. I usually tip 20% but I tipped Jennifer about 50% because she was totally on the ball with us and the other tables- speedy friendly service!

Started going to the Hasty Tasty with my grandparents when I was a little kid, and have taken my own children and will take my granddaughter when shes a little older. Great family restaurant, I love the wonderful inexpensive breakfast, and I love the daily specials, especially Thursdays Chicken and dumplings.

You have to wait 50 years to have a look as original and diner-ish a this place does. Oldies playing through the stereo I enjoyed a fluffy, Krispy waffle that was among other things An all around decent meal for everyone, served by a good natured wait staff in an old, throw back, slightly run down diner.

Dayton staple for over 50 years. Its a good, typical greasy spoon, no frills diner. If you are picky or overly concerned with the right "atmosphere" this isnt the place for you. It is old and it shows it. The wait staff are sweet people and will treat you like their own. Great waffles!

If you have anything bad to say about this place I just assume youre a dick and didnt grow up in Dayton. For the price of what you pay and the great service you cant beat it. Never spend more than 10 bucks there. Hard working local women work there and they appreciate their jobs.

I have eaten here many time and I have enjoyed my meal everytime. Though I would suggest you have waffles instead of pancakes and do not order the sausage gravy. Every other breakfast food I have had is great. The coffee is always fresh and the wait staff is fantastic!

Our server was a riot, food was good...had that classic greasy spoon feel (in a good way) most of us had their breakfast items--no complaints with the meals or service. In fact we have decided this is where we will meet up again next time vs. Our usual spot.

Its a damn old school diner, not some trendy hipster foodie spot. If youre expecting more than that, kindly stay away and leave the locals to this neighborhood institution. Great attitude, very laid back, decent enough coffee, plus 64 cent dessert specials.
