I had heard about this place for years from their ads on WTVN. I was excited to finally try it. My wife and I went there around 4:30 on Saturday (yesterday as of this review). We ordered Won Ton soup for 2, potstickers, egg rolls, hot tea, 2 entrees, and I had a soft drink. Our waitress had 2 tables, and there were only 4 occupied tables in an area of around 20. She took our soup and potstickers to her other table. They did not say anything when she served them the soup but told her they did not order potstickers when she set them down on the table. She then started to frantically look at her menu pad. I spoke up and said that we had ordered them, and she gave them to us. Later during our meal she took my glass to refill my drink and then disappeared. After waiting over 5 minutes, I asked a nearby waiter to get her. When I asked her about my refill, she started to reach for a non-existent glass on the table. It was somewhat amusing seeing her eyes scanning the table for my glass. After only a couple seconds, I told her she had already taken my glass - which she had onviously forgotten. That was the sevice. As for the food... It was ok. I got the Mongolian Tripple Delight and there was, surprisingly, a generous amount of shrimp; however, overall there was nothing remarkable about the food. Very average even when compared to much less expensive carry out restaurants, and certainly below par for a gourmet Chinese restaurant. We ended up with a $60+ bill before tip. I certainly would not have minded paying the price if 1) the food was outstanding, 2) the waitress was more competent, and 3) the ambiance was a more upscale. I felt the price was equivalent to or higher than Molly Woos, but none of the 3 items mentioned above came close to what I have experienced at Molly Woos or any other gourmet Chinese restaurant in town. Bottom line... gourmet prices for carry out quality. I wont go back.

I was here a while back. My girlfriend and I had seafood soup, which probably shouldnt be on the menu-- a little too salty, and questionable looking. Perhaps I dont know something about seafood soup. Id ordered a combination entree of something called empress chicken and shrimp, but was served sesame chicken by mistake. I decided not to have it corrected, seeing as the seafood soup hadnt turned out great and I at least knew what sesame chicken was supposed to taste like. It was, in fact, awesome. My girlfriends entree was also awesome, perfectly awesome. I would have given this place two stars if the entrees didnt taste perfect We were there around lunch time which was a little awkward because it was empty and because they play weird music. My guess is the ambience is a lot better at night. In my opinion, the food and experience is generally not worth the exorbitant and prohibitive price you will pay for it.

We started going to China Dynasty when our previous favorite closed. We have been very satisfied. If we are meeting friends, we know it is a place where we will be able to get good service, good food, and a pleasant atmosphere for conversation. It is our first choice. When we want to order carryout, we drive past two other Chinese restaurants to get there because we find it better. It is not the cheapest, but we have several college students in our house and our test of carryout food is how long the leftovers last. If the leftovers are still there in 24 hours, we figure we wasted our money. When we buy at China Dynasty, it/s generally all gone by morning. They get it right every time.

We had a department Christmas lunch with about 12 people. The food was OK, but the waitress was absolutely horrible and rude. She was curt and loud and seemed very angry that she had to wait on us. Then, she literally threw my appetizer plate in front of me which was half on my knife and half over at my neighbors area. When the lunches came out, she stood at the end of the table and loudly called "Almond Chicken"...."Pork fried Rice" and dumped the plates so hard in front of us that the food bounced off onto the tablecloth. Save your money.

Ive been patronizing China Dynasty for over 20 years. Among the best Chinese American fare in Columbus. The thing that sets China Dynasty apart from the majority of Chinese food around is the consistency and quality of ingredients. Although it can be on the expensive side, the value is excellent. The Sunday buffet is always great, and kids 6 and under eat free, so for our family of four its a vey good deal. My favorites include the walnut chicken and Dynasty pan-fried noodles.

The Christmas buffet was $32+!!! Charged me extra because I wanted hot tea and pop. The cold prime rib was doled out in very meager portions. The Chinese food was good, but it was not worth $30+ per. I was really hoping to start a new Christmas tradition with family. Not only would I not do that here. I would never go back!! The people are rude, and the place was filthy

I made my first ever trip to China Dynasty and now I wish I discovered this place sooner. We went early in the evening so it wasnt that busy yet. I ordered the dynasty lo mein and some green tea. Everything about the experience was great, including the meal. I will be back and would recommend China Dynasty to anyone looking for a tasty, authentic Chinese meal.

It is my first experience and a unpleasant one. The restaurant seemed dishonest about the food. I ordered a seafood in the clay pot and ended up with a small alumininum pot with 1/4 of the food. It is neither the clay pot nor enough food I paid for. I told the waiter that this would be one time deal for me. I would never come back to this restaurant.

So good! The food is a huge step up from the fast food Chinese. Ive eaten there for years and never had a problem with the service. The food is a little pricey, however they have great lunch deals and the portions for lunch and dinner are big enough for two.

The Sunday buffet is amazing! A Chinese buffet with healthy organic options, crab legs, and yummy desert?! I wish I knew about this place sooner! 10/10 This is the ONLY good Chinese buffet in Columbus in my opinion. I have tried like 10 others...

One of the best orange chickens Ive had. Im a picky person when it come to meat, and the orange chicken was done very well. Made with white meat (upon request) the coating was crisp and meat not over dry. Very good tang. Will be back for seconds

China Dynasty is THE best place for authentic asian food in Upper Arlington. Great Lunch at a good price and consistent service. Hot and sour soup, spicy chicken lettuce wraps, and Kung Po Chicken hits the spot on a cold November day!

Pretty standard American Chinese, but theyre definitely my favorite around. The quality of their food is great and the staff are always lovely. They do carry out and delivery, and carry out is always ready within 30 minutes.

Best Chinese food in town in my mind. Been going for years. The Sunday buffet is a great deal for tons of great dishes to try out (changes all the time). Sesame chicken, Beef and Broccoli, and Cashew Chicken are my favs.
