A few years ago, when I was transferring colleges (to CSU), I needed to find a coffee house with a good reputation and great quality. I refuse to drink Starbucks, or any commercially mass-produced coffee. I googled "Coffee houses in Downtown Cleveland," and I came across Erie Island Coffee Company. I came Downtown a month before I transferred colleges, to visit Erie Island, and their coffee was beyond my expectations. Now, almost three years later, I still go Erie Island at least twice or three times a week to get my espresso. Ive brought friends there from college, and they were always satisfied with their various coffee/tea drinks. Even though I usually stick with my espresso, I can tell you that almost all of their coffee/tea drinks are of great quality. I bought my grandmother a pound of their Signature Blend coffee as a Christmas gift, and I will never forget when she smelled the strong aroma from the coffee and wanted to make the coffee immediately. She loved it so much, that she was actually excited to wake up to make the coffee the very next day. Sorry for the verbose review, but I truly had a great deal to say about this coffee shop!

I love this place. The coffee is locally roasted. They have single origin and it is reasonable priced. The Red Eye here is my favorite in Cleveland. The decór is phenomenal, showcasing local artists work. There is a lot of seating including unique window seats and booth-like couches. What really wins this place for me though, is the fact that they will serve you in actual ceramic mugs if you are staying. I love that. And it doesnt cost a fortune like Pour does.

The staff is awesome here. Even though I was a tourist, they easily made me feel like a regular. They have a small but tasty, selection of pastries; however, they have a very few other choices for breakfast. Their lunch selection looks good - nice selection of sandwiches. They do a fantastic job at making the coffee drinks the perfect temperature.

We like our latte strong! In all coffee shop, even if we ask double shot, we just taste hot milk. There, it was good! Double shot in a small cup! For breakfast, we had the French toast sandwich. Little, but tasty. 17$ for 2 latte & 2 french toast. Great service, very friendly.

The coffee shop is in a very nice artsy part of Cleveland. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food was good and the coffee was good too (coffee was just not QUITE as good as I was expecting for all the high reviews). Still definitely worth the visit though.

Nice little coffee shop. I like the seating, decorations, and enviroment. I went in on a Thursday past lunch and it wasnt busy at all. Service was polite, friendly, and quick. Both my sandwich and tea were great, and reasonably-priced.

One of the best coffee shops on the westside. Service always rocks & coffee is served in a actual cup opposed to a paper carry out when staying in. Pastries are quality & love the charming nod to Oliver Perry.

Great little place to grab an after dinner coffee or espresso. The staff is very nice and will joke around with you while you order. The interior has some cool art but the furniture needs an upgrade.
