Everything over cooked in oil that the owner put in the fryer on opening day some 60 years ago. The "breading" on most of the offerings had no seasoning whatsoever so salt and pepper from the shakers on the table was the only alternative. The end result was bland (as served), salty and or peppery depending on the lighting at you particular table. The mashed potatoes came from a box and the green beans (vegetable of the day..... I mean century) came from a foodservice can. On the bright side our waitress was bright and energetic and made pulled our visit to Lake Nina from 0 stars to 1.

Consistently Good Food. Home of the fish log. Weve been eating here for 25 years and the quality has been about the same. The hot slaw smothered with bacon bits, the mock turtle soup and the chicken livers are all worth trying. The staff is friendly and since the place is usually crowded the service can sometimes seem slow. But its not fast food its good food.

Just had a fantastic meal at Lake Nina. There is no comparison to their fish log. The batter is so light and the fish is so tender. Their chicken livers are the best in the country. And the hot slaw is so special-lots of bacon with that sour/sweet vinegret. Just like my Grandma-in-laws. Dont miss a chance to go and eat here, you wont regret it for one moment.

This is one of the favorite places our Tai Chi monthly lunch group goes to eat. Called day before and our table for 8 was waiting. Price and food are good. The window room overlooking lake is a great view. Can be noisy when room is full, but still able to hear at the table. Happy people means they had a good time. Famous for their fish logs.

My fiancé and I had an absolute amazing experiance here. Our waitress was incredibly nice, when we told her it was our first time here she made sure that our experience was as comfortable and accommodating as possible. I love the homey feel of this restaurant and the food was very good. We will definitely be returning!

Is it a neighborhood bar that serves good food or a neighborhood restaurant that serves cold drinks? The best part of Lake Nina is that what they have saved on decor they make up in the food. Is there any stand alone place in Cincinnati that serves better fish year round? We have not found it in 36 years of looking.

The service was not good. The waiter was not that friendly an didnt tell us anything about the specials or the menu.We had to continue to ask questions an we are not even from this state. Everyone was on they cellphones an. No one was friendly. We definitely will not come back or recommend this restaurant

This is a family favorite. We celebrate a lot of birthdays and other events here. The beer and food are great. The bands make it even more fun with either playing traditional German drinking songs or doing their version of oldies but goodies. For a great time its hard to beat!

Family owned for years. Now a grand son has it and Mike still comes in regularly. Known for there fish log, but wing are large and meaty. Love there coleslaw and full bar. Now has a patio!!! see you sooon

Good food at a good price. Every day lunch specials in addition to the full menu allows diners to leave with both stomach and wallet satisfied. Its not fine dining but you certainly get what you pay for.

The hot slaw had a layer of bacon grease on iy so I asked to replace it with regular slaw. That slaw was very creamy and not like their regular slaw. Just feel like the food may have changed.

Dont waste your money on a double decker. Got a ham and beef - $7.50 - it was mostly bread, lots of lettuce and tomato and very little meat.
