Ando is the *best* sushi I have ever had; period. I have been to at least 10 sushi establishments in the Greater Cincinnati area as well as a few in San Francisco and Vancouver. Ando beats them all! I loved the decor; it feels authentic and Shinto - giving a different vibe than Buddhist themed places. It is run by family and there are always other Japanese customers, which is a very good sign. I have been to lunch and dinner at Ando with my sons and both visits were great. The dinner visit was a little slow on service, but it was packed and once the food arrived I completely forgot about the wait. The food is amazing! Both times I ordered bento boxes. For lunch I had a small box and for dinner I had a multi-tiered box. Each box contained sushi, which was phenomenal, as well as traditional Japanese pickled vegetables and tempura. Everything was top notch and every employee was nice and extremely accommodating. It is hard to believe that a place as good as this can exist in the Midwest. It is now the place by which I compare every other sushi establishment I visit.

Loved this place for a few reasons! One, the food is well prepared and fresh! They have a huge menu with many authentic Japanese dishes l, so many you will have trouble ordering just one thing. Two, atmosphere and cleanliness of the establishment are excellent! Its a very comforting atmosphere and when you are seated you are provided with steamed towels to clean your hands! Three, the atmosphere paired with the service give you a very pleasant and traditional feel you expect in a higher end Japanese restaurant. Also when I visited there were a lot of Japanese people actually there. So you know the place has to be on point! To top it all off the owners are great people very kind and hospitable and are not at all snoby like many owners. Im planning on being a regular here!

Ando is a family run Japanese restaurant and their food reflects the extra attention and care they put in. In addition to their regular menu, there is a special Japanese menu which changes based on their fresh fish and other ingredients. I really like their Saba Shio (grilled mackerel that is lightly salted) as a lunch or dinner set. The set includes salad, miso soup, rice, vegetables and other side dishes and visually beautiful. Lunch is better value. The restaurant is clean and I can always trust their food to be prepared well. Many Japanese expats from companies near by (Toyota office is near by) dine here regularly. You can be assured of their authentic food taste and quality. The best Japanese restaurant in Cincinnati area. Yum!!!

I go here with my Japanese boss and President whenever we travel through Cincinnati. This is probably my favorite Japanese restaurant in the Midwest. The only time Ive had better, authentic, Japanese food was in Atlanta, GA or in Japan itself. お寿司でもカレーでも最高においしいです。オハイオで日本食としたらアンドしかないと思います!

The most authentic Sushi and freshest fish anywhere in Ohio. This Sushi Bar was my very first Sushi Bar experience. I became a regular and would go every day at one point. The owners know me by name as well as a few of the servers. The restaurant has a very homey atmosphere where you feel like youre walking into a home rather than a restaurant. Ive tried a LOT of other sushi and I still believe that this place has the BEST tasting and FRESHEST fish you can find. It is by far the most authentic sushi bar Ive ever been to. Amazing place, amazing service, amazing food. You will not be disappointed with the amazing hospitality this place has to offer.

The first time we went here, they put de-hydrogenated fish flakes on top of a noodle dish. The fish-flakes squirmed around like worms on top of the food, and it was as if we were in a horror movie. Zoom to about a year later, we decide to try them again. We made sure we had an open mind, who knew fish and worms could look so much alike. The second time we went there, it was even worse. The servers acted like we didnt exist, they didnt bring the food we asked for, and they stared at us with a penetrating pugnacious glance which was less then welcoming. This place is horrible, stay away!

I would have liked to be able to review the food here but I couldnt get in because I didnt have a reservation or know the owner. They were busy but only three tables waiting before me and then large parties kept walking in past us taking up all of the seats the waiting customers could have filled in during the forty minutes we were waiting. So, make a reservation and review the food yourself since Ill probably never make it back since Im not local.

Tried teriyaki chicken and 2 special sushi rolls. The special sushi rolls are what ruined this place for me. They both were over $10 each which is fine for good sushi but these looked like standard rolls you normally get for $5. I spent $25 for 2 rolls and received bad tasting pathetic looking rolls which could be a lunch special at your local market. Sorry for the bad review but this place deserved one.

Oh, they do take-out. I was told, however @ 7pm on a Wednesday night, with 4 empty 4 person tables that "the kitchen" said they were too busy to do any "to-go" orders. They did offer to seat & serve me though. Now, how is it they werent too busy to serve me in the restaurant, but were too busy to put my food in a container & let me pay and leave? Assume they are too busy, eat somewhere else.

I make a trip here from time to time just for the white rice. I suggest stopping in for lunch rather than dinner lunch is the same entree as dinner but half the price. Dinner is definitely over priced for. The food quality and presentation but it is still the best Japanese in Cincinnati by far. And like I said. I make a special trip just for the white rice I have never has better.

Yes, this is very fresh sushi. The staff is very nice. Dinner is pleasant. However, I really miss the East Coast. For the $35 per person we paid this evening (no alcohol), on the East Coast we would have had much bigger rolls, and more generous portions with filet in them, beautifully presented. This is good sushi for Cincinnati- very, very fresh.

I ordered carryout from Ando tonight, just your typical spicy tuna with 2 house salads, I got home opened up my sushi AND IT WAS AWFUL. They COMPLETELY gipped me on the amount of spicy tuna, in fact in some pieces I had to literaelly un-roll to see if any Spicy Tuna was even in the roll or if it was all rice! I AM SO DISSAPPOINTED.

We were very happy to find this small piece of Japan in Ohio. Very authentic, fresh and delicious sushi dishes. No liquor license but they are very OK with you bringing your own beer or wine. Friendly staff and super service - highly recommended! Probably some of the best sushi Ive had... ...ever.

We have enjoyed Andos fresh and beautifully-prepared food since before their move to Blue Ash (from Lebanon). It is a family-owned restaurant where the chefs take pride in their creations and the patrons reap the benefits. I recommend it highly and look forward to many more great meals there.
