Considering the prices, I was pretty disappointed in the scraps they used for the meat. I mean, its a given that a Chinese restaurant isnt going to be using high quality cuts but the minced up pieces of chicken they do use should have been tossed out. Ive ordered from Szechuan Garden a few times and their chicken is a joke. The General Tsos, Phoenix Chicken and Bourbon Chicken are all just tiny little scraps. The Bourbon chicken in particular, it looked like the minced up leftover pieces that the cook should have rejected. Its a shame because the flavor of the sauce is good and if they used just a slightly higher quality cut of meat it would be fantastic but the slop they use is just disappointing. Even given the fact that its a Chinese restaurant and they arent going to be using good cuts, a halfway decent size piece of meat would have blown this dish away.

Service was fine. The issue comes down to the lack of foot traffic and likely a very terrible chief. The food we ordered was pure meat, no vegies, the wonton soup was bleh at best. Then our dinners arrived the one meal was overcooked, nearly burnt. My meal was burnt. Ive never in my life been served a meal that burnt. Ive never written a restaurant review, this was bad enough that my father and I agreed it was time to post something about it. Especially for the price.

Passing through town we stopped on a bad whim. Cardboard egg roll with meager half teaspoon unidentifiable flavorless substance inside. Condiments for egg rolls looked long used and tired. Coagulated mustard dried hard around edge of serving container. The "spicy and tangy scallops" had strange sauce that seemed like it had been consolidated from leftover sauces and ingredients. Dont often write bad reviews but this place was bad!!

This restaurant wavers from two to four stars. If you go at the peak of lunch and dinner, youre going to get really good, freshly prepared food. If youre there during off peak hours, its a gamble. Odds are that youll find appetizers and entrees that are dried out and overcooked from sitting in a warming tray for hours. That being said, when the hot and sour soup is freshly prepared, its some of the best Ive had.

Food is terrible. Service is snooty. Ordered small beef fried rice they gave a large and charged for it almost 9 dollars. Wonton soup tastes like tap water and wontons in it were not cooked and hard gummy and meat tasted old and gamey. Rice was chewy and governors chicken was chewy old meat and over priced. What a waste of money.
