What a headache place to eat. Started well. Sat down got our drinks and then went for our first plate. Most of the selections were cold and old at 6:30pm. I picked out a couple things that looked the freshest. Upon sitting down the banging sounds from the straw broom into the dust pan was very annoying. That lasted our whole meal. I asked if she had a vacuum. Bang, Bang and Bang every stroke. I had 5 people in our group with 3 kids. My son which was adult meal ate 2 donuts and 1/2 a breaded chicken. He said they were really greasy, which upon tasting they were, Ohh well hes picky eater and only likes those from the Chinese restaurant. The other kids love Chinese restaurant but were complaining about the taste of there food asking why we didnt go somewhere else. During checkout I asked if he could take something off my boys $8.95 dinner since he didnt like their food. He said yeah I heard that before. I said yeah you heard your food was gross. He ended up taking a $1.60 off. I gave him a 15% off coupon for dinner printed out from gold clipper website. He says we dont take copies. OK well this is printed out from your advertisers website. He started getting agitated and got the owner or someone. They started speaking different language and finally gave me 15% off of my meal, for a savings of a $1. I was told they cannot discount the kids meals as they are a special price. Yeah like $5.95 for a kids meal 6-10 years of age with no drink is such a special price. I told them that was your highest price for kids meal, to no avail. Very misleading to give 15% off dinner coupons and not honor that for a full priced dinner kids meal. Theres a reason kids are cheaper, its because a 6-10 year old doesnt eat as much as an adult. He charged me like $35 and told me that I was not welcome back to his restaurant. Thank you. I have had several friends claim to have gotten really sick from their food. If you can eat anything and pick out what is fresh or not you will be OK. If you only like a couple things from this type restaurant, go somewhere else. If you have kids and use coupons, go somewhere else. If your eating dinner go somewhere else. I have been to this restaurant probably about 30 times or over. And every-time I go for dinner it has been horrible. Only time worth going is early lunch and then your OK. There soft serve machine broke and they threw it out. So no more soft serve. I did like there banana pudding with wafers. Not sure if they still have that didnt get that last time just not as good without the vanilla soft serve ice cream I used to get with it. Why cant we get a decent restaurant in the area geez. There are a few but nothing really nice except maybe Titos Mexican for eat in. Best Chinese by far would probably be number 1 kitchen in the area but thats more for takeout and no buffet. I agree to drive the extra distance and go to the lion garden. Same price and lot more selection and fresher tastier food. But then if Im on Arlington St. theirs a lot better places than Chinese in my opinion. OK well this book is done and gave you my honest and most straight forward review as I have been going to this place since they first opened up.

The first time I went the food seemed to be O.K. nothing special, the service was not great at all. The second time the food was cold barely warm at all. I told them the food was cold, they were very rude to me. So I waited a month and went back, the service was awful. I wanted some ice cream the container was empty. Butter pecan, I was told to eat what they had that they were busy. Also another costumer asked who had no idea I had asked and they practically raised their voice at them and said I already told her to get something else Im busy! Well... the something else was chocolate and strawberry I dont eat it. So it was another bad experience there for the third time. 3 strikes youre out.

More like Unhappy Family. This place was great when they opened but they have fallen from grace. Not worth it anymore. Went in Saturday September 16 for dinner. Should have done a walk though to see if they had fresh food out. Guess you just expect that. Most everything was out to long, dried out and overdone, carried over from lunch. I used to like this place but have been disappointed the last few times. Sorry Happy family, you lost me as a customer and if anyone asks I will tell them what I told everyone here.

This was the most disgusting food I ever ate. Rhey had moldy mango cake and the Chinese lady tried to tewll.me it was chocolate drop in it. Ok how on the bottom of the cake not on icing and second green chocolate ya ok. So I told her the place was nasty and she said I juat dont like their food. Well no not after having moldy cake. Nasty w/o t ever return to that place ever. Unhappy Family Buffet. Yuck!!!!

Absolutely horrible. We will never come back. They were out of sushi I asked if we could get more California rolls he told me that he could not make me rolls he had no time he has more important things to do than make me those. It was horrible tgere was probably 10 pRipley. They were horrible . One worker was in the bathroom talking about my son saying he was stupid horrible horrible never again

I dont even want to give them a star!!! Food was cold, bugs in the food, husband found hair cooked into his food and the employee said it was customers but yet it was cooked into it so obviously came from an employee. She was very rude and disrespectful and would not make it right so we spent $30 for a plate of food because none of us would eat it!!

First and last time there their food is stale, cold,soggy, and disgusting. If you wanna get some good Chinese buffet go to The Royal Garden Buffet up in chapel hill. I wouldve put no stars but i gotta put one so basically they owe me that star.

I go to this buffet often, the servers are always friendly and nice, and the food is tasty. They emoployees have their children in the store alot of the time, but they are SUPER well behaved and quiet. Excellent reasturant, and super value.

ALL the Hot foods were not hot.. All Barely warm. When I complained, was told they could heat it up. I polity explained, hot food on a buffet should always be HOT. last trip there for me.

Food is cold. General Tso chicken especially. And why only serve fried dumplings for lunch? What about the people who work and cant come enjoy some fried dumpling during lunch hour?
