Have been ordering here for MANY years, normally all is fine. I work in a big office hat orders delivery all the time...but no more. About a month ago, I ordered by phone to pick up. The dude who answered the phone was rude, short, unprofessional and cut me off while i was speaking to validate his "point". Younger, dark hair slightly asian. I merely mentioned that the previous time I ordered, he dumpling sauce was left out of the order. It was repeated back to me at the time, so was confident it was right. On a large order, its difficult to check a large bag of food. This is what we pay the for, since they do it EVERY DAY! he took an IMMEDIATE attitude and during the closing of the conversation, he decided that in order to have the "upper hand" because he was embarrassed or offended, or didnt know how to handle the situation (and I was MORE than polite when i mentioned it, to hang up on me WHILE I was talking.) This person is RUDE, unprofessional and does not understand the concept of common decency and respect. when I picked up the food I was visibly upset and annoyed and called it to his attention in front of other customers. I did not yell, but was assertive and direct. He again chose to interrupt me while I was speaking as he did to "silence" me when he hung up. I will tell you it did not go well for him. The owner was there and observed his behavior. She knows Ive been a long time customer and saw how hen handled it. He made nothing but feeble excuses and a sarcastic meaningless, insincere apology. Walked away from me while I was speaking taking NO accountability. I will never spend another dime in that restaurant no matter how good the food is. This person does not deserve his job and should choose another profession. Im sure hes done this to other people, but Im the only one to call him on the carpet. So, screw this place because of him...

I get Chinese takeout very rarely, but when I do its gotta be from China Gate. A little under $30 gets me two big containers of fried sweet and sour chicken, a container each of beef fried rice and white rice, a large bowl of sweet and sour sauce, two free egg rolls, AND a ton of fortune cookies-- enough to last at least two or three meals (and Im a pretty big eater). The people who work there are very kind and if theres a problem with the order (I order online) they will call to make sure they get everything right. Once there was an issue with my credit card (I think I put the number in wrong) and I didnt answer my phone because I didnt realize it was them. They still showed up with my food, and got everything straightened out. I was very thankful they didnt just give up after calling me, I was really hungry! I have to tell a story about how great these people are. After a hard breakup over a year ago, I decided to order some comfort food and I asked in the order request box if they could draw a smiley face on a box or something because I was sad... they put the food in a bag with a smiley face on it. I opened the bag, there were smiley faces everywhere. Every box had a smiley face drawn on it. They had also cut a bunch of smiley faces out of those "thank you have a nice day" plastic bags. I hadnt smiled in several days but I grinned like a total idiot when I saw it all. I wont order from any other Chinese food place now.

Soggy plain and emulsified. Ordered General Tso Chicken Sent it back. Then they sent out a Spicy Shenzhen Shrimp that made with sweet n sour sauce with peppers. There are a lot of recipes out there but please dont insult our intelligence and tell the customer we dont know or others like it this way best. Come on! American Chinese Gen Tso Chicken recipe (because the Chinese dont prepare this in China) For the restaurant eyes.... Cook and stir a minute or two until the garlic has turned golden and the chiles brighten. Add 1/2 cup sugar, the ginger, chicken broth, vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, and peanut oil; bring to a boil and cook for 3 minutes. Dissolve 2 teaspoons of cornstarch into the water, and stir into the boiling sauce. -Google Results crispy chicken drizzled with sauce NOT chicken solidified in sauce (chicken floating in sauce) I wish I could take pictures. They say a thousand words. Never again Chinese Gate.

The absoult worst, lying, poor excuse of a restaurant. Got me twice now. I will never do business with them again. First order.. told 30min and at 1 hour we called in. Told driver was in a accident. Ok we understand and our food came 30 min later. So we give it another shot. Told 45min. 1 hour hits we call. Then we are told oh he isnt there yet, he should be there anytime now. Hour and a half goes by we call ask for a manger. Oh the manger is out and your food will be there we had a lot of deliveries. After 2 hours and 5 mins cold food arrives.... Place is a joke we called in and offered 10% off our next order. Good luck with that. So happy yum yum has opened up and delivers so China Gate will go where it belongs. Out of business.

I have fond memories of going out to dinner at the Chinese restaurants close to our suburban New Jersey home. China Gate brings back those memories and creates new ones. I love the little pots of hot mustard and duck sauce, along with the tiny carafe of soy sauce. I really enjoyed my pot of Jasmine tea, as well. One plus for me is that China Gate has Almond Chicken on the menu, a rarity at Chinese restaurants these days. The atmosphere is quiet and tranquil, although the wall mural of Bruce Lee is unique to my restaurant experience. The service is excellent, as was the food. We were given complimentary Spring Rolls that were delightful. I will definitely be back to China Gate.

Horrible customer service and my food was never even made. I placed an order at 6:40pm and waited until 9:40pm but the food never arrived. During this time, I kept calling to find out how long until my food arrived and they kept telling me it was on the way, but at 9:40pm, after waiting 3 hours, I called to cancel the order and they told me the food was never even made so they were lying to me the whole time about it being on the way even though I had a confirmation number and they kept telling me it would arrive shortly. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Would give it a zero if i could. If someone orders sweet tea and you dont have any thats all you have to say, not bring out ice cold unsweet and say sugar packets are on the table. If youve ever had a science class youd know the sugar wont dissolve in a cold liquid, it all just sinks to the bottom. Plus how could you bring out one persons food and not a toddlers with it? And when we ask were the French fries (simple right?) Were you said they were coming, it took over 15 minutes for a simple order of french fries! Your a joke of a restaurant
