Well I’ll start from beginning. This visit was my 3rd time in India Palace. First two were ok but not very exciting. As I love Indian food and cook them mostly in my kitchen I wanted to go there for the Valentine’s Day too. I knew it was going to be busy and was prepared for that. The environment looked calm and seems like people were enjoying. However, I felt that I was served very poorly. My Mango Lassi (one of my favorite drink) never arrived. Appetizer came in after 25 min.. and I understand they might have been busy and as I said I was prepared for it. We ordered vegetable samosa and chicken pakoda. Vegetable samosa was good but chicken pakoda was so chewy almost felt like rubber and I am sure it was few days old. I did not mention this to my server since he never checked back on us, but now I feel like I should have. I just decided not to eat. There were no napkins on the table and wasn’t a big deal so I asked the host lady. She said ok one min but never came back. I asked the same lady for the second time after 15 min and never got the napkins. I noticed her folding her hands in front of the desk but I was completely ignored. Later when manager/owner passed by, I asked her for napkins and said this was my third time asking for it, and this time she sent the same lady with napkins and finally napkins arrived. Our dinner arrived 45 min after we received our appetizer. We ordered Dhamaka chicken balti (server said this is one of their best entrée but it was ok) and chicken kadai and both came with rice. I was SHOCKED when they brought exactly the same dish in two different looking containers. One being balty (which means bucket in hindi) and other in round container. The lady who brought those dishes also looked confused while mentioning the name and later ignored and said yeah they are those and left. I tasted both and they were exactly the same. As I am from South East Asia I know what my food tastes like! And I couldn’t stand the fact they tried to TRICK me! I mean they could have apologized and I would understand too since I was prepared for it! Later I had to grab server’s attention since he never checked back on us. He was busy laughing by the front desk and did not seem professional at all. As I mentioned about the dish he did agree those looked the same and took chicken kadai in the kitchen and told us they are ‘fixing’ my food and it’ll take 2 min. came back with the food and it was exactly the same container with same food just chopped cilantro added on top! I was really upset but kept eating the same dish. While paying server said to us he was yelled at for bringing food in the kitchen and sent the same food back! He did agree the fact that it was not chicken kadai! Well I liked the server’s honesty but I still felt that I was treated poorly and will never go there again! On top of that I was charged for the Mango lassi which I never received.. and told the server to fix it.. Try avoid.. there are other professional restaurants where you’ll be treated better way with better dish!!

Went there for not only my first time at the restaurant but my first experience with the cuisine. Went for the lunch buffet & it was delightful.. a very pleasant experience. The restaurant was clean & seating was available to support small or large parties.. Food was all hot.. never saw an empty tray.. I wouldnt have gone for anything overly spicy as a personal preference but I think the buffet options are intentionally tame. Not to say there wasnt any spice or flavor.. there definitely was & I thoroughly enjoyed it.. nothing overpowering.. it all melded together very well. The staff was very kind as well.. visited the table often.. one of the older gentlemen monitoring the lunch rush who knew I was new to the cuisine since we were talking about it a little & were the first group inside at 11 even came over & pointed out one of the items I had grabbed off the buffet was a dessert item. Very helpful & very much appreciated. Looking forward to my next visit.

The food is always very tasty, and the buffet is a great value! If youve never had Indian cuisine before you definitely need to come try what they have to offer. All of the food is authentic and is prepared using traditional methods. On Indian holidays they also have special fare that is normally not on the menu. There is a review on Google stating that they had very bad service on Valentines Day: I was there that night, and yes: the service was lacking its normal professionalism. I dont think they were prepared for every single table in the restaurant to be full, and there were some part time people filling in that really werent experienced enough for a night like that. That sort of service was definitely out of the ordinary for India Palace! But this is the exception, not the rule. On a normal day the service is quite adequate and the food is always very good. My wife and all of my children love coming here regularly.

I am at Fargo on a Business visit. I thought of trying this restaurant and initially did not hope to be good as most of the Indian restaurants in US are customized to attract US and Indian customers and loose the Authenticity. But when I visited this place I found that they have Excellent and Authentic tasting food. I keep on travelling and I have travelled a lot in US. I havent see such an authentic Indian food in any Indian restaurant in US till date. This is a must visit. We also took some of our American companions to this place and they also loved the food. The Baltis are absolutely delicious and the restaurant owner may time gave us desserts to taste at the end as a customer appreciation. One thing I will miss for sure when I leave Fargo, INDIA PALACE FOOD!!!

I been to this restaurant like 7months ago. I find hair on the food and when I told the manager about it. He didnt apologize or even to care for costumers. He even make me pay for my lunch. I didnt even finish my first plate of food. Again Today I went to gave it second chance about this restaurant and this time it was me and my 2 year son. I ask them how much they charge for 2 year old and they said its free. When We Finished our food and ready to go. They told me I have to pay for my son. The cashier was so rude and money hungry. I will never go there as long as I live in Fargo. Nor will I recommend on anyone to go there. And the food wasnt cook all the way. Dont forget the hair they cook in it.

Food is very bland, IE Campbells soup version of Indian cuisine. Sometimes overly salty as well. I find the staff to be rude and somewhat condescending while putting on an air of politeness. My husband and I frequented the place several times a month for almost a year, bringing many new customers with us, never felt like appreciated as customers and always felt like interactions with staff were awkward and standoffish while still expecting a 20% tip (buffet), which I normally would do anyways yet here I always felt my dining experience was somewhat ruined by the staff. Try the other places in town; food is better and we are always greeted with a genuine smile.
