I really dont know how these people liked it above me... Here is my take. The Good. (1) they make decent food. (2) they verify the steak was cooked correctly. The bad. (1) as a rule I try steakhouses and have the waiters order for me...in the 14 high end restaurants Ive been too (most of them with $50 steaks as the cheapest option on the menu)... they NEVER order the most expensive menu item they have for me... even when they go Off Menu.... (I tell them to order it is they think it will blow my mind away). Well... the Lobster was OK, a bit over seasoned.. the Steak was fine, but for a premium cut was way too tough (especially for Rare). was it worth the $60 more then the fillet and Scallops I initially said I was interested in???? nope. Was the guy pushing my bill up for a bigger tip?... yep. DONT EXPECT THEM TO BE HONEST. (2) food prices. WAY THE HECK over priced for what you get. is it good food? yes. is it 25% overpriced?.. yep. (3) service?... mediocre, confusing, and o wait... I had waiters seemingly fighting to get my table? what? then I had to wait 10 minutes for my Iced Tea?... (4) Off Menu Items here... get pushed hard. (5) seriously... we asked for pasta... and it came out 5 minutes AFTER my steak? I know I get it rare, but bring it out at the same time! (6) sides were nothing amazing. At the End of the day, I spent $100 for a mediocre steak, a slightly overseasoned lobster, and some mediocre sides... Lets say I ignore that this is Winston Salem, that isnt a horrible deal in Los Angeles or New York. The Real downside was that the staff. Sorry, but Im more inclined to go elsewhere.

Overall...really disappointed. Have driven by a hundred times, and decided to finally give it a try last night. We arrived shortly after 5 to a nearly empty dining room. The hostess insisted we sit outside on their covered patio because they had a very busy dining room that evening. We had 2 servers on the patio, service felt very rushed and impatient from the younger waiter, and a large table of children ruined our chances for the quiet, romantic dinner we had anticipated. The butchers cut of a cap ribeye was suggested...and said that it was so tender you could cut it with a fork. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out extremely overcooked. I had to saw at it with the steak knife that was provided. The gnocchis were some of the worst I have ever had, and were literally served in a bowl of oil and butter. My better half ordered the filet and shrimp special. The shrimp were so heavily seasoned, the salt just overpowered everything. Needless to say we will not be back. If you want to spend $150 dollars on dinner...go somewhere good, like 1703 for steak or River Birch for the Duck 2 ways with gnocchis...because at these places you will be warmly welcomed, have 50 bucks left in your pocket after the meal ...and a full belly. We were generous with the 2 star rating because the older gentleman who partially served us on the patio was outstanding.

I ate here with 4 other people. All 5 if us ordered the filet. I ordered mine medium rare. When the steaks came out mine was ice cold in the middle, red, and bleeding. When I brought it to the servers attention, she argued with me and told me it was medium rare. Um, no. Ive been eating medium rare steak my entire life, and cooking in restaurants. Instead of replacing my steak, she took my entire plate from the table. This left me with nothing to eat while everyone else ate. She returned 20 minutes later with the exact filet I had already cut into, and it looked like it was not cooked any further. Additionally instead of fresh pasta (my side dish) she brought out the same side and it had been microwaved! No apology, no manager, nothing was offered to compensive for the poor service or food. We wont eat here again

this is my first visit I call for reservation but they cant reserve me a table but walk in are welcome this was the answer We went and we ended on close in patio The server show me the menu explaining what we get with steaks and such I ask for the 40 oz bone in ribeye but they dont have So I change for Greek salad with salmon Side asparagus and 4 cheese risotto My salmon was over cooked and the risotto was boiled and served with butter and parmigiano cheese At the end I ask for an espresso and was hot water with very light coffee flavor I find this please overpriced for what they offer My opinion is that village tavern is way better But I will go back because I really want to try that steak and when I do I will give my honest opinion again

horrible. people who not spend a lot of money cannot get service. and not many people at the table. still cannot get good service. the problems with our waiter. the tall young african american male. He kept running away quickly from the table.HE left to eat a dinner. And other servers came to the table. without explanation. The salads and hamburgers came made wrong to the table. We had to call the manager frequently to get the service we need. The tall waiter. Not want to write down the order, african american. he did it. We told him we tip. And would talk back rude, rush to get rid of us, in the middle of wait on us. HE ran away from us. We had to ask him to come back and finish the order. He got angry at not a tip.

Menu has changed. They removed a very popular dish, the "Frutti del mar". They increased their prices. Who orders a 40-42 ounce steak with a price that is insanely high? The waiter had no idea if they could serve an "Italian Margarita" and this is an Italian restaurant. The waiter advised that himself and 2 others would be attending to my table but only seen the waiter (whose name eludes me due to him never stating it). Usually bread us served as you are seated to the table, mine came when the meal was served. As I have visited this establishment on several occasions, with the structure that is now present, I am doubtful if I ever return.

Im sorry to say my husband and I both feel as though we just threw away $75.00 tonight. I ordered the family style salad which tasted like mayo mixed with sugar for the dressing, my husband got the fratellis pasta...he said it was the worst Italian pasta ever with no taste. The calamari had a sweet coating which was off putting and the evoo bread dip tasted bitter. We last came 2 years ago and the food at that time was awesome, but after tonight we are not sure what happened, whether they have a new cook or owner..something has definitely changed. The service was great and my wine was good but that was about it

Went on a Friday night. A nice atmosphere but nothing special. You can wear casual (jeans) if you like but most people are dressed nicely. I ordered their 10oz filet medium but it came out medium rare. It tasted good but for $36 and no sides included ($4 to $5 a pop) the least they could do is cook your food correctly. The service was good, not great but not bad. It was also pretty noisy like you would get at Olive Garden. I dont mind the noise but if you are looking for quite dining this is not the place. It was basically like eating at Apple Bees except your bill is 2 or 3 times as much.
