The food was good but had a bad experience. Called ahead of time to make sure i could watch the quarter finals soccer game, i was assured that they will be showing it. Got the place and 30 minutes into the game they changed the channel. The server was really rude and told us that another group wanted to watch another match. There were other TVs available in their area and they changed the only one that we could see to accommodate the people that got there after us. There were other customers that were also watching it, when we mentioned that we were customers too we got a "well too bad" and were dismissed as he walked away. Never had bad service here before, it was one of our favorite places and I dont think well be coming back. I wish they wouldve told us from the beginning and we would have gone somewhere else...

Big Cheese? More like the "Big Disappointment." We have gone to this location many times only to be let down multiple times. We drive 20 miles round trip and pay around $15 to $20 every time. This time we got calamari which was the worst, was very fishy, and looked and tasted like it had been sitting for hours. The hot wings were also not fresh, dry, unevenly cooked, and not very spicy. Garlic rolls were dry and did not seem fresh either. We have gotten food from the Homestead location and the quality there was MUCH better, so we know the standard to expect. Dont ever want to drive so far and pay so much for food that is this bad. Makes me sad that someone would serve this and expect customers to return. Not going to happen.

First time and last time here ever! The food was passable and the pasta had a sour taste and was watery (dont know how to even make sour pasta sauce). The salad was wilted and had too much dressing the service was the WORST! Server never visited our table and double charged for free refills. Even complained about a low tip when she didnt even provide good service. As a server for at least 6 years Im fair to servers, thats how we make our money, but to expect something like a good tip and not provide some sort of service is greedy and condescending. Place is definitely not up to the hype it was made out to be.

When you ask people in Miami about pizza, they will most likely be sure to mention the Big Cheese. This is definitely a community and family-style restaurant with an expansive menu full. Of course, if you come youve got to have the pizza. Tried the spinach pie and it was pretty good, better than I expected. Their crust, my favorite part, is done VERY well. They also have tons of other Italian dishes and they serve beautiful pitchers of beer. One negative in particular is amount of garlic they use. The staff is okay, they definitely check frequently and are attentive. Props for the tons of UM memorabilia!

normally i would have given this place 2 stars but the fact that it may be the best in the area got it an extra star. Ive tried many, many pizzerias, most in the new york area so coming down to the university of miami was a little disappointing in terms of local pizza. ive tried most of the places around and have not at all been impressed with any. big cheese may be the best in the area but thats clearly not saying much, theres nothing special about this pizza, no flavor to set it apart and bring me back, reminded me of left over pizza that had been reheated from my favorite pizza place back home

Im a big cheese veteran going there for over a decade. Some of my favorite dishes are the great white pizza and the baked ziti ricotta. Stromboli is excellent as well. I always try to go there on a non busy time since you cant make reservations. The staff is well versed in the menu and fast. The big cheese is more of UM landmark and is always packed during sports events. one of my favorite places to sit is definitely the bar when i want to get in and out quickly.

I worked at this restaurant during my college years and I have always admired the cleanliness of the kitchen. They are militant about being sanitary. The service was great when I worked there and nothing has changes. It is in my opinion the best restaurant on the planet. Family friendly at its best. People always say you get tired of eating the food at any establishment you work in, but in the case of the Big Cheese all o do is crave their addictive cooking...

Great late lunch today. First time customer from Atlanta, Ga. Pizza was fantastic and loaded with toppings. Great thin and crispy crust. Grande Cheese was top notch and loaded. So glad we ordered way too much. Now we have this great pizza for another few meals. Our server Diana was perfect! Handled our party of 10ppl like it was nothing. Great Job! We will definitely come back the next time we are in Miami.

OMG! Thank you yelp reviews for helping us decide where to eat on our last night in Miami! My hubby & I are from Chicago so we know good pizza and this place was AWESOME! My husband got himself a slice of pizza and we both got a pasta entrée. Let me just say how HUGEEEE my portion size was!! The only thing I was bummed about was how I couldnt take my left overs home since we had to go back on a plane the next day.

WAY TOO MUCH GARLIC! Im a garlic lover, but this food was drowning in it. It gave my entire family stomach aches. We spent $95 for dinner for 5 to be delivered. If we dined in the restaurant, we would have sent everything back. Weve been going to The Big Cheese for years because it is close to our house in South Miami. Stick to the pizza. If ordering garlic rolls, ask for the garlic on the side.

Alex is an amazing server! He kept coming to our table to make sure we were good! Plus the manager is super friendly, he walks around greeting customers and asking how they are doing!! I definetly recomend this place to anyone. Dont be surprised the waiting time to get your food is longer than usual since its always packed.. But the service and quality of food will not disappoint you! 10/10

The BIG CHEESE has been a best of Miami Pizza and Italian food restaurant as long as I can remember. University of Miami students often live on their food. Pizza is excellent and the subs are fantastic. Dont forget to get a large order of Garlic Rolls. If you order them to go, ask for the Garlic on the side so you can toast them up hot and add the garlic when you ready to eat.

Horrible, the pizza no good with the title big cheese you think the cheese would be the best but its horrible! I have to say the the pizza without cheese is better the garlic bread is pretty good and alright service but one thing that mostly bugged me was the terrible envirment dirty, kinda smelly and although bad. i recommend not to ever eat there! And I mean Never!
