I have been to this market in years past, and had a pretty good experience. This year, not so much. We wanted a steamer pot, which they said they couldnt do because they were out of medium shrimp, we asked them to substitute another size and we would gladly pay the extra... they were extremely reluctant and did not seem to want our business. We had to help them think outside the box, and they really werent trying to accomodate.Mind you, we had a few people in our group and spent more than $300 total while there. Anyways, they were not very friendly and I felt that the service was lacking. Immediately after we left, we went next door to the convenience store and when we came out both employees were out front having a smoke break, I suppose this explains why I felt they were just trying to be rid of us. I feel there is WAY too much competition on the island for us to have to beg for service. We wont be back. Also- as mentioned in a previous review, the register tape wasnt working and we also got a receipt jotted on a piece of paper. Thank goodness my card number wasnt written on it!

Bacon wrapped shrimp! Need I say more! What a great place! This seafood store is the real deal. I discovered it on our last day here. Sorry we did not know about it sooner. This is the place to get your fresh seafood. They have it all. We cooked a big family meal for our last night at OBX. We got deviled crabs, crab cakes, salmon, oysters, and bacon wrapped shrimp, and twice baked potatoes. The staff gave us great suggestions on ways to prepare it. We got back to our place and realized that the shrimp did not get into our bags. It was a large order so I understand how that can happen. I went back and they had it there waiting for me. And they gave me a one of their Key Lime pies to say they were sorry. Wow! Great service and great food. You cant go wrong. Go to St. Waves on your first night of vacation. And get the bacon wrapped shrimp!

First time in Salvo, thousandth time having Blue Crabs. Crabs were not cooked thoroughly and were gooey and watery. Took them back for additional steaming only to get back to the house and find that they still werent done....full of water with translucent meat. Key lime pie was OK at best and apple pie (which was given to us due to the undercooked crabs) was runny. Also homemade cocktail sauce was more like jello than cocktail sauce. Complete waste of money and highly disappointed. Wont be visiting this place again.

Well Im a bit confused. I was there Sunday 6/11 and the man at the counter told me they just opened???? He also didnt know the difference between sirloin and rib eye. I told him I wanted 12 jumbo shrimp and when I got home we had about 30. He also wrote me a receipt because he said they didnt have paper for the cc machine. Hmmm checking my card carefully for a while! Seems contrary to the other ratings. At any rate the steak and shrimp were excellent!

Best fresh seafood on the island. Key lime pie is outstanding. Homemade tuna salad made with fresh tuna is a must try. Molton chocolate lava cake is divine. The owner is a local knows her seafood and is happy to tell you when the fish came in and when she will be getting a fresh catch. She also makes the prepared foods. A true find.

Awesome shop. Very clean. Very fresh seafood and super friendly staff. They even have hand cut Angus beef. Home made crabcakes and key lime pie is to die for. Cant wait to get back.

Best KEY LIME PIE in the world. We drive 40 miles back and forth from Nags Head every year to buy it. Also super fresh fish and lovely woman who either owns or works the store
