I was in a bit of hurry so, I went through yhe drive through. The waiting time wasnt too bad; not as quick as other fast food joints. But it seems the wait is worth it. I ordered the fried chicken gizzard and liver dinner with a side of cole slaw and it was REALLY good. Im pretty sure this may be the first time in a long time that Ive had something that tasted fresh out of the fryer. The saltiness and crispiness was just right; the crunchiness was not a texture of " yesterdays leftovers". The biscuit was doughy delicious. The cole slaw wasnt too tart. In fact, it tasted fresh. The sweet tea tasted good; dont get regular size if you are big on sweet tea. You wont be satisfied with the "regular" size. I would recommend The Chicken Barn to anyone who wants something quick and good fried chicken liver and gizzards. I would come here again without any hesitation and not mind at all paying $6.40 for a dinner and tea!

I had heard about your restaurant from a friend,decided to come in and see for myself.I asked the young lady behind the counter about items on the menu,ending up in ordering the liver,gizzard combo with gb.Ive determined that I like livers more than gizzards and just wanted to share with you the good service/food that you serve.Definitely my new favorite *go to* place!

Great Fried Chicken and even better fried Chicken Livers. The location has changed though. It is now part of the new Marathon Gas station downtown Smithfield!!! They also have great breakfast sandwiches...and Chicken Barns tenders are 500x better than Bojangles at least)

Chicken barn owners hate animals. a local community cat feeder was blatenly told by the owner "if you are caught feeding here again you will be arrested for trespassing and we will shoot the cats and hang them from the trees" do not suppport these animal haters
