After a long days drive, we stopped in Weldon, NC (near Roanoke Rapids) at a motel and drove over to San Jose Mexican Restaurant for dinner. Irene ordered the chicken enchilada combo, which was simple and tasty. Having read other reviews, I decided to order the fresh made Guacamole and the Pablano and Chicken Fajitas. The Guacamole was absolutely declicious, fresh made with Jalapeno peppers, onion, tomato, and chopped (rather than mashed avacado, it was the best Ive ever had, and there was enough to take home a generous portion for tomorrow. The main course was the Pablano and chicken fajitas. It came bubbling in the frying pan with onions, lots of melted cheese, pablano peppers, squash and other veggies along with a side of shredded cheese, sour cream, and pico de gallo, with another side of beans and rice. The pablanos were hot and fresh while the chicken was tender, not overcooked. Again, the portion was generous and will be served for supper tomorrow. Well stop here on our next trip through North Carolina just to eat at the marvelous Mexican restaurant, which is part of a small North Carolina chain. Enjoy!

Mex restaurant... owned by people that look like they are from mexico...LOL Dont take offense because our local Italian restaurant is not own by people that look remotely close to anyone from italy... I like the white sauce and chips but sometimes the hot spicy foods are a little too much for my american stomach.... I eat the safe beefy not too spicy burrito... They do have a full bar at this location...

Wow. What a surprise! San Jose is legit Mexican Food. Mui Bueno! The Poblano Chile was outstanding, the Tacos al Pastor was right out of the best in Guadalajara! And the House Margarita was quite tasty. Anyone who appreciates good Mexican Food should stop by. It is a good logical stop on the way South from DC or Richmond. They are quick and have a good atmosphere. Buen Provecho!!!

i was traveling threw Roanoke rapids and we had to stop for some lunch we went in every thing was going grate until we order it took about 30 min. till we got our food. before we left i had to use the restroom so my 17 year old daughter weighted for me at the table will i was gone the waiters were trying to talk to my daughter was afraid so we left. i am never going back.

Absolutely fabulous! Great decor and ambiance. All the staff is courteous and smiling. Margaritas were awesome, food was excellent. Top restaurant. Too bad we only pass by during vacation but we will definitely stop there again next year.
