Stay away!! While the bar staff is excellent, the owner is a piece of work. Its definitely a regulars bar and they arent particularly fond of newbies- and if youre a cop, or in law enforcement of any kind, youre definitely not welcome. The owner will do any and everything in his power to make sure the cops arent anywhere near the bar- I wonder why... perhaps because of the sketchy antics that occur there? Though its calmed down over recent months, fights are still fairly common. The owner isnt below slandering, bullying and banning the victims of sexual assault while allowing the assailants to continue patronizing the bar either. As for the food... perhaps a few more gluten free items on the menu wouldnt go a miss. The wings are pretty amazing though. If you feel you must check it out though, only go on a Friday night when David Howell is hosting karaoke- although, you could find him at DeMarcos in Bedford on a Saturday night (with a better crowd) or OMalleys on a Thursday night too. Honestly, I really think it speaks volumes when not only the bar manager who was a very loyal employee to the company but two other female bartenders who were absolutely brilliant and worked there for quite some time have quit in the past 6 months. If the staff dont want to work there, why would you want to spend your money there?

The website states that this is a kid friendly place. It is not. It is 100% an adult establishment....which is fine, but dont state that you are kid friendly. This was my first time in the restaurant and we had our 8 year old with us. My family sat next to a table that the owner was sitting at and every other word out of his mouth was an F Bomb.....There was also conversation about female anatomy that should never be had out loud in a public place. This was before 8:30 PM. The food was good and the staff there took good care of us but was all ruined because of the owner and his friends that also didnt seem to care that a child was sitting next to their table....It was a good lesson for our son on how NOT to act in public. Most adults wouldnt have appreciated their conversation either.....I had been wanting to go there....at least now I can say I went!

I gave it five stars because for what it is (a small neighborhood sports bar) its great. The staff are wonderful, the food is well above average sports bar fare, and they are very accommodating when it comes to putting your favorite game on a tv where you can see it. The menu is huge and has a wide variety of options including lots of things that arent typical bar food or fried. I think the wings are huge and the best in Raleigh. The burgers, nachos, and "chicken crack" appetizer are all very good as well. Finally, they have a great dog-friendly outdoor seating area with TVs and sound, games (giant Jenga, cornhole, etc.) and events like open mic night on Tuesdays. This bar, like any bar, may not be for everyone - but I love it.

Busy local pub in North Raleigh, fairly noisy and rowdy as well. Drink prices for draft beer was higher than nearly any other place Ive been to in the area. Service was spotty with many tables left dirty long after the patrons left. Food: Maybe the main courses are better than the appetizers, but if a restaurant cant plate a 10 dollar plate of nachos with adequate toppings then I am not likely to give the main menu a shot. Buffalo wings: They claim to have the most authentic Buffalo wings in the area, HA! Medium heat was more like catsup, and just how does a place that has been open since 2008 say they have been making wings for 20 years. All and all a very disappointing and overpriced experience, we wont be back.

My wife and I ate at this place early on a Friday evening. Our waitress was very nice, but the food was awful. Some of the worst we have had - ever. It seemed there was no care at all put into the preparation. Cheap ingredients, poor presentation. Mind you we were not expecting an upscale, gourmet experience... we knew it was a bar... but we know that a bar can do food well. There is a place less than mile down the road (Pipers Tavern) that the owners of the Pickled Onion would do well to learn from. Pipers is great, we go there all the time. Oh well... at least the beer was cheap, although it was brought to the table without even the offer of a cold glass... or any glass for that matter.

Ladies, Please stay away unless you want some drunk, bald creep inappropriately touching and coming on to you ... Unfortunately for this establishment, this is the owner.."greg" Greg thinks everything in the bar is his , including any woman that walks in, with or without her boyfriend. I saw a fight in there from a boyfriend that had just had enough. There are much better places to enjoy yourself without this worry. The bar staff is awesome and the location is great, its just impossible to escape "The Creeper"

They have a WONDERFUL outdoor patio with Christmas lights, plants, and several silent (silent is good!) TVs hung high up. Another wonderful plus is that the place is dog-friendly. Super friendly staff, too. Best burgers in town -- juicy with a charcoal taste, just like all our Dads make. I would have given 5 stars, but its WAY too noisy inside, especially when they jam a band in there. Its so loud my ears hurt and I have to leave. But Im a happy camper if we get the patio.

My wife and I tried this for lunch one afternoon after seeing it many times, and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was great and the waitress was extremely friendly and made some good recommendations. They werent very busy at the time, so we got really fast service too. They are definitely a bar fist, and I could see them being a good place to get a few drinks if you are looking for that. They also seem to have some pretty good live music as well.

Not your typical sports bar . . . great menu with excellent salads, burgers, and full plate options that include the best fish and chips, meat loaf, and ribeye dinners in town for the price. Service is always excellent with very friendly and personable staff - there is always a variety of drink specials each night . No need to ever be bored - check out their nightly events like trivia on Wednesdays which is always packed.

Good, casual food. This is a sports bar, plain and simple. TVs are hung on just about every available inch of wall space, so its a great place to catch the action on a day when theres lots of action. Wings were--- we all agreed--- surprisingly good. Just the right amount of crispy skin. Fried green tomato BLT is also good. Allow 30-45 minutes. About $13-20 per person, dessert and gratuity not included.

This is a favorite place for my boyfriend and I to enjoy a good dinner and drinks at. They have a good variety of food, and not just the typical bar food, and their drink specials definitely work out in our favor (Thursdays $4 rum and coke and 1/2 off bottles of wine!). Weve been going here for many years, tried other places, but always return here for their excellent food and drinks.
