Moved to Raleigh from Apex a year ago. In my search for a good Chinese restaurant, I came across Neo-China / Neo-Asia in the Pleasant Valley Shopping area off Glenwood. I love good Chinese food, but its hard to find. I like the location of this restaurant. Unfortunately, thats about the best thing about it. I tried it a year ago and swore I wouldnt make that mistake again. A year later, I decided Id try it again-their Thai menu this time, hoping this would be a better experience and provide a good option close to home. These people need to take the Thai section off of their their menu and apologize to Thai people everywhere. I ordered the red curry, which came with a soup and spring roll for lunch ($9). I had the wonton soup and that was okay. The spring roll came with what looked like uncooked shrimp with a white paste around it, I asked that they exchange it for a vegetable spring roll, which they did and later charged me for it. This vegetable spring roll was void of any flavor whatsoever. It was cabbage and carrots. I give them credit for making them in the restaurant, as so many are just buying frozen prepackage spring / egg rolls now, However, Ive literally made better myself at home and I dont know what Im doing in a kitchen. The Red Curry was a joke. Mostly water, it had two thin slices of red pepper and one green. The rest was flavorless chicken and onions. The curry itself was just orange water. I was so bored with the food and annoyed with this place - I paid up front and didnt even argue about the spring roll or the food quality, it would have been lost on this dying diner. Would not recommend!

We carryout twice a month here because the sushi is fantastic. Plus, the BOGO deal is makes it even better. We have strayed out from our norm a few times and ordered other food on the menu like pad thai, tofu dishes, and chicken wings and chicken dishes but they just... and I hate to say it because it is a big portion for a great deal, but none have been good. Plus, we often find white or black hair in the dishes. (Not the sushi though) The sushi is so freaking good that we do not care about the (honestly) gross cooked dishes. That sushi chef is amazing. Also, customer service is fair. The lady who we assume is the manager (black hair, glasses) is nice most days we call in. She needs to work on her customer service skills a little better on the phone. She has fussed at us because she couldnt understand our southern accent. Overall, come and eat the sushi here. :) Go to Advent Ferry where the China Pearl and Hibachi restaurants are to get awesome cooked dishes.

Suggested by friends for good Chinese went on Super Bowl Sunday - had the place to ourselves! Food was excellent. Great Mongolian Beef and good Dirty Martini. My friend had Beef and Veggies which was full of flavor & large chunks of meat - not the typical thinly sliced pieces. Another friend had Moo Goo Ga Pan which can be tasteless - it too had great flavor. Its been very hard to find a good Chinese restaurant since moving to Raleigh from DC in 2007. THIS is the spot for us. They also serve Thai and Sushi which we did not order. There are plenty of excellent Thai eateries in the N. Raleigh area. Service was excellent but we were the only ones in the place. Hernando was our waiter. Very professional & warm too. Atmosphere is relaxing and kind of cool with circular booths.

The decor was nice and the place was quiet (though it was a Tuesday night). The menu has a ton of options and portions are large - I was barely able to finish and most people brought home enough leftovers for another lunch the next day. My Hunan Chicken was good - the vegetables tasted more fresh than typical Chinese food. You can also choose between white, brown, and fried rice. My only complaint was that it wasnt very spicy; you can choose spiciness from 1-5 and I asked for 5, but the meal was only the slightest bit spicy.

Service was top of the line. The wait or was extremely professional, polite, and well poised. The food selection was also phenomenal- so many exciting and delicious foods in the menu left me bamboozled on choosing (which Im glad for because it makes me excited to keep coming back to try the other items on the menu ). The food tasted great and I felt that for the food amount, quality, service, and taste made the prices very reasonable. Cant wait to come hereally again.

this place seems to have went downhill.. it used to be nice but now it is just gross. I received chicken lomein and the chicken had veins in it that looked to be the size of mine.. Im not a doctor but I know chickens anatomy and they do NOT have veins that big.. To say the least.. I will not be eating here again. If you are going to eat chinese food in this area I recommend Imperial Garden, their food is of much better quality.

It was great! Hubby took me for lunch. We had our baby with us and were able to sit in a nice high back booth out of the view of a lot of people. The baby got fussy and I had to bf. I dont like to in public but I felt very comfortable and no one could see us at all. The atmosphere is awesome. Soft music and great affordable food. We both at for about $20. A lot to choose from. Great staff. I would eat there again.

Wow! Easily the worst fried rice that I have ever had. It was hard and flavorless despite my asking for a spice level 4 out of 5. I had to add a lot of soy sauce to even make it palpable. I refused to taste my husbands meal after he just took a single bite of his drunken noodle and said "Thats gross too." Note to self, dont eat at an Asian restaurant that cant make a decent simple beef fried rice meal.

Walked in at 2:25 on Christmas day...i was unaware of the 2:30 closing time. The hostess ignored me until 2:30 and then asked if I wanted to order. I said yes, to go and she pointed at the clock and said we closed come back 4:30. I asked if i can order something real quick and she yelled at me, stating the chefs were gone @ 2:31. Merry Christmas to tou too Neo-Asia.

Its pretty decent. Nothing that I would call bad, but just not exemplary. The sushi is on the upper end of the quality scale and not too expensive. The Chinese food, though, is very middle of the road. Not at all bad, again, just not terribly flavorful or juicy or anything. I still come here because its convenient and deserted around lunch time.
