My fiancé and I just came to this establishment for lunch. There were quite a few people there as expected. We were sat down immediately which was great by the owner. We then proceeded to wait for several more minutes as another server worked on a table across from us. Moments later 2 older white males came in and were sat again by the owner. He immediately got their drink orders and brought them back to them. As we looked over and made eye contact with him he then came over and said that someone would be right with us, apologized and said that everyone came at once. Okay understandable it happens and I have worked at a restaurant before. BUT THEN another group of white people all females came in and was immediately sat down again. The owner took their drinks and brought them back to them. At this point I was outraged because he not once made the effort to do this for my fiancé and I despite waiting for quite some time. I am an African american women and I cant help but feel like our experience was race related. There is no reason why we were not served during our time there. It should have been first come first served. I understand that when you are busy you scramble around but there is no excuse as to why you waiting on 2 other tables that came after us who were white people. I will never come here again and spend my money. My fiancé and I left but again he didnt seem to care about that either. All black people do not stiff waiters, complain about all their food and make restaurant workers cringe. I have worked in the service industry for years and understand the value of customer service so I would NEVER have treated my customers as I was treated today.

This was my first time and my last time ever. Needless the say the owner is unprofessional. I called to place a complaint about an online order and he never called me back. I ordered the salmon steak which included broccoli, mashed potatoes, and supposedly a salad. My husband arrived to pick up my order and was told that the salad was only a dine in option. Flag number 1: the manager on duty said that owner said no salads are to go out on the to go orders. Flag 2: The online order should have been honored reguardless of lack of notice to the dine in only option. If the salad was a dine in perk then it should not have been listed online as a menu option or simply the owner should have put dine in only on the menu. Now Ive heard about this place since my unfourtunate overpaying experience on 3/20/2017. Out of everything i heard about the owner being a rascist and a ass to customers, i was basing this off professionalism and first impression which is what determines whether I give you my business. Since the sorry ass owner didnt give a damn to return my call i dont give a damn to take it easy on this restaurant. Working in the restaurant business I know the rules of the owner, front of house and back of the house and i must say you are not doing such a great job showing respect and gratitude to your customers. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS UNPROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT WHERE THE OWNER DOESNT HONOR HIS MENU OR RETURN CALLS ABOUT THE TERRIBLE SERVICE.

I just ate at this restaurant, the dinner was mediocre... the biggest issue is they missed up my bill (and more specifically, how they "addressed" their mistake). I ordered an IPA on a day when their specials menu said all IPAs were on special and I was told the IPA I ordered wasnt on special... OK, thats fine, the bartender suggested another IPA and I said sure. The bill arrived and I was charged the regular price for my two beers, which was over double the "special price." I raised the issue and the bartender got the owner, who told me my IPA was not on special. I explained to him that I was told it WAS on special after I tried to order another beer that was not on special, and thats why I ordered the beer I did, at which point the bartender said she would pay the difference. Im sorry but I do not want the wait staff paying for my bill, and "all IPAs on special" means that ALL IPAs should be on special, yet both IPAs I ordered supposedly did not qualify. The owner originally offered me a gift card for LESS than the difference in price... and when I told him thats ridiculous, he then gave me a gift card for the exact difference in price, and not a penny more. Not a refund, mind you, a gift card. In short, I just overpayed for my meal and bought a gift card I did not want. The staff is very friendly, the food is mediocre but the owner is clueless about customer service and how to run a restaurant. I will not be coming back.

I cannot sleep until I say this... I have never been insulted so bad. When visiting At elm st. grill, the owner was extremely rude. After politely asking to change my order, willing to pay for something that was more expensive, the waiter went and got the owner and he was very unprofessional. He argued that changing my order was wasteful of food and money. He simply refused to take my plate. Id understand if the food was at least room temperature but that was not what I was expecting. He continued to be immature by stating that he was been doing this for 6 years, he has 250 customers every night (as if servicing us was an issue), and took my plate and told me and my friends to go. Wow, do you respond this way to all of your customers when they dislike a dish? I will be reporting this location to the Better Business Bureau. You should never argue with a customer especially one that never raised their voice, nor gotten disrespectful. I am sure the owner will comment because he said he would when threaten to complain. I am very disappointed.

We had never been to Elm Street Grill before but made a reservation for 13 people for a business dinner. The owner was extremely accommodating and went out of his way to give us a spacious and well placed table, efficient service, making good recommendations for appetizers that fit the group size well for sharing, recommendations on wine selections (which were 1/2 off because it was a Wednesday) and information on the entrees. The food is very well priced with a decent sized menu / taste offering. They source fresh local meats and produce and have a good wine list. The ambience was very enjoyable and there were a good few other patrons there who seemed happy too! I would highly recommend this as being one of the few places that can accommodate a large group, making for a nice evening without breaking the bank.

We came in sat at the bar first the manager Patty took forever to give us a menu once we finally got a menu took her another 15 min to take our order upon ordering I asked for 2 drinks and a water she gave me my 2 drinks then continued to handle other customers at the bar once she was done with the other customers I said to her in a nice respectful tone dont forget my water she shouted at me "gosh dont u see Im busy Im gonna get ur water" as she walked away she made more smart comments and walked off. I am to a business owner in Greensboro and would never allow my workers to disrespect my customers in this manner. I canceled my order asked to speak with the MGR To only find out she was the MGR. Will never go there again and it was my first time.
