Im far from being a food or restaurant expert. I just like good food of any kind thats prepared well. I also appreciate being treated (as I think we all do) like I & my business matter. Im very much understanding of how busy any restaurant can get (although Koreana never had more than two or three tables filled whenever I was there), & that running a restaurant isnt always easy for the owners & staff. However, the difficulties of running a restaurant should be handled professionally & never, EVER be taken out on customers the way the owner does. Even with my trying to be as objective as possible about Koreana, & giving this place every possible consideration, this restaurant became a restaurant to stay away from once the lovely older ladies whod owned it (wonderful grandmother types) sold it a few years back to the cretin who now owns it. After trying it twice with the new owner in residence a few years back, I tried it again recently & realized that I will once & for all, NEVER again come back! The most important part, the Korean food prepared here, was never anything special in comparison to other Western New York Korean restaurants. I wanted the food to be exceptional, but that was my being idealistic & hopeful, rather than realistic. The "bone-in" meat dishes are fatty with much gristle, which made them (in my estimation) extremely undesirable. If you cordially ask (with a smile) to have whatever the dish is that you ordered not to be prepared too spicy, youll be made to feel like youve just taken your life in your hands. Friendliness, courtesy & customer care are not practiced here. Theres many other fine Korean restaurants to choose from, so why go here? ~~~ Please allow me to make something VERY clear to anyone who might choose to try this place... This place is owned & run by a VERY ARROGANT, EXTREMELY RUDE & BELLIGERENT OWNER, with one of the worst ANTI-SOCIAL PERSONALITY disorders Ive ever come across in a restaurateur, Korean or otherwise.

A friend of mine stumbled on this place and now we go for lunch at least once a week. I cant speak to the authenticity as Im not Korean, have never been to Korea and am not a connoisseur of Korean food. But we are typically the only white people there. The food is great and the people who work there are very friendly and make me feel right at home. After a few visits they remembered us and our favorite dishes. One time I ate there and didnt realize, until after my meal, I forgot to bring cash (they dont take cards). I told the women I could stop at an ATM and come right back. She said not to worry about it and to pay for it the next time I came in. This was after only being there a handful of times.

Ive been coming here for ages. As a kid I was always fascinated by the bookshelves stocked full of manga books in this tiny restaurant. This place seems very authentic to me. Ive never ventured to anywhere in Asia, but have been to china towns all around the country. The menu is very small but they have perfected it beyond belief. You could pick something blindfolded and you would love it! Whenever I enjoy a meal here I feel like Im at my Korean friends home and his grandmother is cooking us a meal with all of the love.

I got my order as take out. The menu is smaller than I expected. I ordered the kimchi stew and the bibimbahb. He told me 10 minutes, so I went over the the Asian market and got some stuff. It was finished when he told me to. The bibimbahp was really tasty, the "hot" red sauce that came with is was amazing. I did not like the kimchi stew. It tasted like watered down kimchi and it was warm...not cold or hot. I would eat here again; only I would get the bibimbahp with extra seaweed salad and extra red sauce.

This is a restaurant whose owner doesnt sacrifice quality under any circumstances. In fact, I wasnt allowed to order a Champong soup to go because itd not be as fresh outside the restaurant. Not the most customer-service friendly stance to take, but I can easily see why: The food is very, very good. Expertly made and done so with care. From the moment I walked in, I could see this was a precise restaurant. Everything is the way it needs to be for a reason, and that is simple, direct quality.

I think the owner is really sweet and honest. The food is excellent, and his recommendations for certain dishes have been spot on. The food always comes out steaming hot, and it is a really CLEAN restaurant. Dont be fooled by its location and how small it seems from outside. Also, if you can read Korean, there are plenty of Korean graphic novels to choose from. Everything weve tried so far has been really good, and the prices are very reasonable.

I normally love this place but apparently its not open today but their hours say they are. No sign or whatsoever indicating it being closed for today or certain hours or whatever. No phone number on their door. Like what is wrong with people today. Everyone is just closing without notice. Did you want to do buisness or what. At least put a sign out.

Their food is fresh and has a great, unique taste for the area. To my knowledge, there arent many Korean restaurants in this area, and the other one I know about is much more costly, and genuinely doesnt taste as good. The prices range between $10-15. I dont think theres anything other than specials that cost more than $15.

Koreana has been a favorite of mine ever since I walked in the door! It has great food without all the expense of other Korean restaurants. The restaurant is clean and can accommodate a group. I have many Korean friends who study in Buffalo and they say its as close to home as you can get outside of the peninsula.

Will definitely be back. A small restaurant without a lot of ambiance, but the food is very good and the price is right. Staff spoke little English but they were helpful and pleasant. Each dish was cooked individually, and you can see the kitchen (one room restaurant) so no secrets. I highly recommend this place.

The food here is probably as authentic as it gets. Very delicious. The restaurant has a simple, yet welcoming atmosphere, and certainly tailors nicely to the local Universities. There is a bookshelf available in the restaurant filled with Korean literature, and the staff are very friendly people.

I just cant quit the garlic pepper chicken. It has a distinct flavor that I cant get anywhere else, its so good. I bet other items on their small menu are also uniquely delicious. Highly recommended to everyone, you will love it.

Food is good. But the attitude and service are so terrible and rude. It seems everyone owes money to him. I cant take any food under that atmosphere. Worst experience ever.

Great place for authentic Korean. It can be a little costly but I think its definitely worth it if you just come once in a while. Recommended for larger groups.

Meager portion, overpriced for okay food, but the worst part of it is that we are expected to tip when its pretty much self-serivce.

Great food! Come on Monday for the spicy beef stew! They do close from 3pm to 4:30/5pm every day though, so dont come then.
