Thank you so much for giving me the WORST service I have had since I can remember. I used to work across the street from here and would patronize the cafe once or twice a week. I havent been there in years. This past weekend, I was part of a festival in Asheville. One of our guys had traveled all night and had long enough to take a nap and wanted a specialty coffee. I was going to provide. My first thought was World Coffee. I walked a few blocks to get there, walked in the door and was immediately looked at like I didnt belong there. I got no greeting, not a smile, nothing. Just a sour puss face and an "up and down" look from the young girl behind the counter. Unfortunately, I had to have some of the talent to another location and was already running late and couldnt just walk across town to the other place or I wouldve walked out. So, I have 2 people in front of me she is helping. Im waiting behind them, CLEARLY in line and some Asheville guy with suspenders and glitter comes waltzing in. I actually knew who he was from around. He went by me and up to the counter. Started to talk to the barista, who finally showed a little life. He ordered some iced coffee, chatted while she is trying to help the other folks and then stepped to the side. Mind you, I had now been waiting for over 5 minutes for her to finish up these folks, but hey, good things you have to wait for right? So finishes with them, doesnt acknowledge me at all and starts making the thing that this guy ordered. It was everything I could do NOT to say something and walk out. It was unfortunate I even had to give these people any of money. I was disgusted. Yes, I did get the coffee, because I had not other choice but I did not tip her and I will never walk in there again. It was one of the rudest things I have ever seen in my life. I am a customer and should be made to feel welcome. I should get waited on in the order I came in and not be blatantly skipped by because Im not "cool" enough for Asheville coffee. I will never be back and was sure to tell the hundreds of people at my event, to never patronize this place.

The staff is very nice. Im friendly with many of them. The owner on the other hand, has no problem being rude and disrespectful to people that he has never met. Ive been a regular here in the past, buying tea every time for the most part. I like to play the piano when I come. One of the few days where I dont buy any tea, today, I decided to play the piano a bit. The owner comes in and more or less tells me to beat it as he didnt see me buy anything, despite the fact that Ive bought tea from them so many times and that there was only one other person in the piano room, a kid, who he also told to scram. Apparently he doesnt care about the well being of his customers, only making money. In short, the baristas are nice and friendly. Any of them would recognize me immediately. The owner doesnt care about people though. Im not giving them any more of my business.

I use to be a regular here, but I will never step foot into this establishment again. Two of my friends, and myself, were sitting at a table in the music room, all of us on our computers, when a man, who I presume to be THE OWNER, came up to us. He asked us if we were doing business, and then proceeded to say "Because it doesnt look like you are helping mine." After which he asked us where our purchases were, and my friend told him that we were finished so we threw them away. His response?: "Then you need to make sure you keep the cups on the table next time. You guys are giving off a bad impression." Never have I received such despicable service.

Overall a great coffee shop. All the drip brews are certified organic and the taste is consistently excellent. The desserts are pretty awesome too. Their tiramisu is the best Ive had. I saw another reviewer criticize the sandwiches as overpriced and small. This is common among coffee shops that offer food. Honestly, just because this shop offers sandwiches, theyre not a deli. What they do best is coffee and desserts. Thats what you should expect. They have free wifi, knowlegable baristas, and great outdoor seating. Five stars.

I have tried this place out a few times and havent been impressed with customer service. Stopped in just today for a quick bite to eat between appointments and the staff was very snippy and moody with customers. Atmosphere levels went down for me. On top of that the owner has been saying how he "doesnt care about what the customers think," as hes scolding one of the baristas. Will not be returning or recommending anyone for the future.

Coffee is mediocre, the desserts are sort of tasteless and the owner and his wife run the place like Bernie Madoff. Its not a friendly place and theyve got cameras on you at all times too. This cafe is mostly for oblivious tourists passing by. Im guessing they stay open simply because theyve got a great location and one of the only outdoor cafes that catches the setting sun. Old Europe was much much better when it was there.

Bad coffee. TERRIBLE customer service. I will spare you the details but I will say this. I rarely complain/write reviews but I sent the owner an email to let him know about our horrid experience... Im not sure if he even read it because I never received a reply. Needless to say, Ill never be back. As all the other reviews suggest, I also would highly recommend finding another coffee shop. This place is worthless.

Good espresso and americano. Unfortunately no Turkish style coffee, but not much places in USA where Turkish style coffee is served, so its disadvantage for this perfect place. There was good tiramisu... Im living 4 years in USA and only these guys serving tiramisu right - add espresso shot on tiramisu. So I definitely recommend this place for my friend who is going to Ashville next week

For coffee, I love it. While lately I havent been seeing much of my favorite baristas, theyre always friendly, and as quick as can be expected. They use localish coffee (Counter Culture), and always have creative drinks. The food is on the expensive side. Really it IS the expensive side. So I dont ever eat there, but thats not why Im going.

The coffee is awful, so bad that Id even prefer to go to Starbucks, which is really saying something. No atmosphere. Shame as it is a great location, which maybe explains why theyre not bothered about quality -- they rely om tourists who arent coming back? Do yourself a favour and go to The Dripolator or Izzys.

Great location, diverse beverage options, delightful treats, fun seating options if your able to linger a while. Service was excellent, obvious by the people coming and going its a popular and loved spot. Theres also an incredible view from the Sky Bar which is located on the top floor of the same building.

Cuban coffee was not prepared correctly. Tasted too sweet because they used the wrong sugar and I dont think it was hot enough. Also it was way over extracted making it bitter. Not to mention places with tip jars are extremely tacky. There was also a dog INSIDE of the coffee shop, gross!
