This place can easily become a regular for my wife and I. The atmosphere is very clean and the staff is very kind. You can do take out or dine in. We waited a couple extra minutes on one occasion for our take out order since they where busy and they gave us a couple free desserts for the wait. And on the topic of deserts, they are usually 3-6$ on average but are soo good! The baklava cheesecake was around 6$ something but you get a huge piece and it is amazing, if you like cheesecake give this one a try. Out of their Italian dishes they have all been very good and home-made taste. The prices seem to be what youd expect from similar style restaurants so like 8-13$ per meal. They also have free wifi. They are usually packed during the main hours. So a lot of people around here seem to like the place. The only couple things Id recommend for them to change is prepare less oily alfredo, and scrap the current soups and replace them with new recipes. After eating much of what the menu has to offer, these are two things I think should be changed. I have enjoyed the rest of the menu though. Maybe something else to consider, I live much closer to Athens Pizza (which serves similar dishes) I have found Gondolier to taste much more consistently fresher and thus prefer to often drive further to eat this Italian.) For those who are deciding between the two... But I have often eaten Athens if I am too lazy to travel further.

I called and reserved their back room for 30+ people a week in advance. When we arrived we had one server. I have waited tables in the past and for great customer service, you always have more than one server for 15-20+ guest. This is to ensure that your guest are taken care of in a timely fashion. When asked if there could be another server to help assist, I was told "she could handle it". That wasnt the point. We had 40 guest waiting for 45 minutes just on their drink order, putting us there right around 3 hours total. The checks were also so messed up we had to get out our pen and paper to help sort the bills. So needless to say, this was one of my favorite go to Italian restaurants, but the past few times, the service has been below average and we wont be going back. I hope they can improve their customer service for future guests.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. We live in Morganton, and took a trip to Asheville. We like to try different restaurants and came across this one while traveling Hwy 70 into W Asheville. My wife and I decided to give it a shot. All I can say is this was one of our best picks. The hostess was very nice and courteous and seated us promptly. Our server was very nice and quickly took our drink order. She brought our drinks out and their delicious bread. Bread you think that came from heaven. I decided to eat the spaghetti with meat sauce and my wife ordered the Spinach style pizza. We were both VERY satisfied with the service, food, staff and cleanliness of this place. We will be back to eat there as often as possible. Thanks to the staff at The Gondolier in Asheville!

I like the facility, location and in general most things about this place, especially the staff. I could pass on there general tomato sauce used... kind of more generic canned feel but.. There is a Greek/shrimp spaghetti dish that was horrible... it came with a yellowish cream sauce that tasted absolutely bizarre and I just couldnt finish it. If you picture greek spaghetti as feta, olive oil with appropriate spices... this IS NOT your dish. The eggplant dish is scrumptious and would highly recommend it. Go try it and I dont think you will be disappointed unless you try that greek island dish.

I was not happy with my visit. We ordered 2 pizzas. I found a "hair " in mine. I told the server, she said oh OK I will get you another one. They replaced the pizza. There was no apology that I recall. I figured they would at least take the cost of that pizza off the bill or offer a discount the next time I came in, nothing. I dont know how a business is run that way. I wasnt looking for a free check for the table, but not to be compensated a bit for the mistake. I will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Cheeses are excellent on the pizza, desserts are fresh, rich , delightful taste and....HUGE..serves two..bread is warm and buttery... Marinara does not overpower the rest of the food...prices are extremely reasonable..beer and wine selection is good... And they have excellent specials/ prices on food and alcohol. Lastly the restaurant is clean...the service SUPER fast...the manage ment and wait staff are friendly and accomodating...the customer is very important in this restaurant..

This place was never on my list but we ended up there for my girlfriends work meeting. I thought pizza is always a safe bet. Wrong. It was like reheated frozen pizza. They brought a huge basket of bread sticks to the table and they werent edible, just hard and tasteless. Even frozen bread sticks can be baked and drenched in garlic butter and be edible. It was like they were trying to have crappy food. I hope I never have to set foot in this spot again.

Ive been eating here since they opened. Service and quality of food has gone down hill. Our June 3rd experience. Waitress touching drinking glasses at rim and I had to call her over three times to get things she should have known to bring to the table. My Shrimp alfredo was over cooked with a very bland sauce. There was only 4 shrimp in the dish. They did comp my plate, but Im not happy about the service and quality of the food.

We didnt actually eat in the restaurant. We had it brought to us for our wedding. The woman that brought the food said she is a server there. She was friendly. It was food with a smile. Thank you so much Liz. We had the combo appetizer platter and the Italian Sub platter. The food was delicious. Now we want to try the food at the site.I want to try their pizza most of all.

Food is good but atmosphere was not. Country music coming from one direction and oldies coming from the opposite direction. Complained to manager. He said they are having problems with there music system. Country music was coming from a television so I bet the power button was functioning. This is the first time we have ever had a problem since the restaurant was opened.

Service was good great tea. Marinara sauce wasnt any different from any other Italian restaurant they must all but it from the same place. Had lasagna wasnt impressed no ricotta cheese in it tasted just like the stoufers you buy at Wal-Mart only had sauce and cheese on top. The hamburger in it was ground so fine tasted like that you get in chef boi r d ravioli
