After six years of going to this place almost every Sunday after church, I just cannot believe what I went through. My Husband and I walked in to Valbrook diner on Sunday 3/12/2017 for lunch after mass. We ordered our usual my husband a hamburger & a grilled chicken caesar salad for me. Everything looked great until I put the fork in the salad and started lifting it to my mouth when something literally slid off my fork. I couldnt believe what I was seeing so I forked it out to the side of the plate. And what was on my plate was obviously spit or as we also call it snot. IT WAS GROOOSSSSSS. I quickly asked my husband to look at it and he verified what i was seeing. Gagging i called the waitress over who was in shock she called the Spanish man who was at the front counter and he was in shock to. All i could do was run out to the parking and throw up. I will never ever go there and i will certainly tell everybody that i know my experience at the Valbrook Diner. What kind of a human being would think of spitting in anyone food. I am truly disgusted

Stratospheric prices (anybody who thinks a diner is supposed to be high end dining should maybe go to a regular restaurant), apathetic sometimes rude wait staff, tasteless french fries. I went there last night after only being there one or two times previously for the same reasons. Now I know why I stay away from this place when there are much better diners in the area. Still, the portions are huge and I tend to be a late night eater (between 10pm and 1am). So the food might be a different experience during the day. Im adding a star for that reason, as I dont want to be too harsh on the times of days Ive never eaten there.

Food is very good, but service can be a hit or a miss. Theres always plenty of parking available. And the host always welcomes you with a warm smile. After that it gets spotty. Sometimes the waiter doesnt show up for 10 to 15 minutes. Certain meals are surved with pickle and slaw but some waiters forget this completely. Their portions are quite large so the price is justified. Hope this helps to improve the overall quality of this dinner. I would really love to give 5 stars next time I go there.

If you enjoy real "diner food", youll enjoy Valbrook. There is nothing spectacular about this restaurant. It fits all the requirements for typical diner food. The menu is enormous, with a seemingly endless number of selections to choose from. The service is good. The prices are average. The food is just average, but the portions are really large. A great deal for the price! Theres parking. Its a nice place to grab a bite, or have dinner without spending a fortune.

My girlfriend and I come here if not weekly, then every other week. The service is incredible and were seated immediately. We come back for the same waiter Mike D, as well as the greeting from the hosts that we receive. The food is brought out within 15 minutes of ordering and the staff constantly checks in to make sure our meal is up to par. We always recommend this diner and bring friends here as often as we can.

The prices are a bit higher because they use the highest quality food. Instead of lowering the price and or leaving it the same and sacrificing quality instead the ValBrook uses the highest quality of food available. Its not fast food serving garbage on a dollar menu. You get what you pay for. I have been eating there for 20+ years and I wouldnt go anywhere else.

Been coming for years but lately the service and quality of the food has decreased. I tried telling the wait staff and manager but since they are so busy, I dont think they took me seriously or didnt care. Sad. I guess I will be driving out of my way Sunday mornings after the overnight shift to the Sherwood Diner in Lawrence. Again, sorry, but I dont think they care.

Didnt get a chance to actually eat anything. When I asked for a hot cup of hot water for our table of 6 to put our utensils in the waitress response was "We dont do that here". When I asked to speak to a supervisor he sided with her. We all left & went to the Imperial Diner. Better service, better parking, as well as hospitality. Decor beat this place too.

A comfortable and clean restaurant, more than a diner in that its seating and service are exceptional. The food is a step above a diner as well. Easy parking and central location. I do enjoy the Gyros, they are very fresh and tasty. The entrees are very good . Prices are somewhat high, but thats fine with me in that the quality of the food is consistent.

If I could rate this NEGATIVE 0 I would! The FOOD WAS DISGUSTING! NO TASTE NO SEASONING AND NOT COOKED WELL! Also they do not welcome Blacks! I went with my family....4/29/17 for a birthday celebration EVEN THE CAKE WAS STALE! I will NEVER GO BACK. I will never recommend anyone I know to go either. This is The Worst Diner I have ever been too!

The best Diner east of NYC, and we eat at diners daily. We keep coming back and it just gets better. The food delicious and hot and plentiful. Staff is very friendly, not much more required to warrant 5 STAR! Try it youll Love it. Breakfast, lunch or dinner.. David

We went with my wife because she wants a salad, the price of the salads was very high, and she changed her mind and we eat a regular diner instead , the food was good, the service was ok, but they dont accept tip on the credit card, we let the tip cash , very uncommon. .

The hamburgers there are excellent tasting and out of this world! For breakfast their pancakes have a unique and delish taste-far better than other restaurants!! The staff is always very friendly and always quick with their service. You gotta taste their hamburgers!!!......

Three of us went there yesterday for brunch, hadnt been there in probably 30 years, but we were in the area so thought wed try it.... they had breakfast specials till 10:30am (I think), was delicious, the omelets were huge, great prices... really enjoyed it..

Food is not the same since the new owners took over. Drinking glasses were chipped. The salad quality was poor. And the reason I went there for thirty years was the chicken souvlaki and it was not the same. Very disappointed! Never will go back.

The Val-Brook has been a place to go for the past 30 years. The food is always good and fresh. However, the prices have gone up sharply in most areas of the menu.

This is a typical Greek diner. Youll get good food if not totally authentic to the culture, but acceptable for family, couples or single dining.
