I used to go to Crystal Diner all the time years ago. I went there today for the first time in a while and it was not what it used to be. First, the appetizer came out right before the dinners. Second, I ordered a BLT and the lettuce was sub par. Third, the BLT does not come with a side so the waitress asked if I wanted to add a side of fries for extra, I opened the menu to the Sides section and asked if I could get the guacamole side instead of fries and pointed to the menu showing sides section. The waitress said you want the guacamole and chips instead of fries? No problem. When I got the guacamole there were parts that were brown and other parts that were dark green, it had a bad taste to it and was clearly at the end of its life. I was annoyed especially since I paid extra for it but Im also not one to complain about food orders. Fourth, when the check comes I had a BLT for $5.95 (as expected) and a Puebla Platter for $11.95 (wait, say what?!?). I took my check up to the counter and explained that I had order a guacamole side which should only be $4.95 and the hostess told me that the Puebla Platter is a guacamole with chips and that the guacamole side is just guacamole. Okay fine, but I clearly thought I was ordering a side for $4.95 and was billed for something that was $11.95. She didnt seem to be willing to do anything for me and after a long day I really had no intention of fighting. Needless to say Im very annoyed of the service, and having already been slightly annoyed of the quality of the guacamole having thinking it was $4.95, having to pay $11.95 for it was really irritating. The waitress should have explained the difference before letting me order it and the hostess should have understood the confusion and accommodated me. And by the way, the "chips" with the guacamole are just regular corn chips you get at the store, not even Tostitos quality, nothing special about them. Some how these chips are worth $6... The chips are essentially the only difference between the 4.95 guacamole side and the $11.96 Puebla Platter. I will not be returning anytime soon. The food quality is down and the service is down.

Normally dont give bad reviews. But this place was pretty awful and Im not sure how they are still hanging on. Upon arriving the woman behind the front counter said "hi" I responded "hi how are you" and I literally got no response or eye contact the entire time. Someone else walked over and asked how many and walked us to our table. Didnt say who our waitress was or anything and walked away. 2 rude people right off the back. The waitress was nice at least. Very small menu, I wanted to switch out a type of meat for a different type and they do not substitute any food. Food came out quickly. Grabbed our utensils and my fiancé fork still had eggs on it and I didnt even have a fork wrapped in my napkin. The bacon was very over cooked broke apart in your hand when you picked it up. The slop mess they consider home fries are cold and they probably have a big batch made up they feed everyone. Eggs were also undercooked so we didnt eat it. I dont understand how a diner can mess up such basic breakfast food. Disappointing. I actually looked around and I just felt like they see their customers as pigs they are trying to fatten up and feed very poor quality food that has been sitting around. I just hope no one else wastes their money here.

This place has gone incredibly downhill. We were here a few years ago and loved it. Went again last night and it was disgusting. The eggplant parm sandwich was sloppy and messy, not crispy whatsoever like it used to be, and it had a massive glob of melted cheese on top to mask the lack of flavor. The sauce was straight up from a can, no question about it. It tasted exactly like the sauce you get in Lunchables boxes. Veggie burger was incredibly greasy and wet. Fries had literally zero flavor, no seasoning, nothing.. not even salt. There were gnats and flies flying all around our table CONSTANTLY, landing on our food. My girlfriend went to the bathroom and noticed that one stall was unclean and had flies around the toilet, while the other had no toilet paper. Mismanaged and simply a tourist trap from the outside. Apparently the new owners changed lots of the recipes (none for the better), raised prices and let go of maintaining the cleanliness of the inside. Dont bother.. go elsewhere.

I wouldnt eat here again for free. We had been here a number of times, and only kept going back because its within half a mile from my house. Each time Ive gone with family or friends, theres been an issue. Usually, its a messed up order, or the bill is screwed up somehow. However, the last time was the final straw: We had friends from out of town visiting, and they wanted to check it out. First, 2 of our orders got mixed up. Then, by the time they got straightened out, the rest of our food was cold. Finally, one of our friends went to eat and found ANTS crawling on her plate! Not just one or two, but like a dozen or so, under her burger and fries!! We called our waitress, and they got a manager. They offered to strike the meal from the tab and get her another one. We were so grossed out that we left, and have not been back since.

Dissapointed to say the least, our waitress was rude from start to finish...we used to go there all the time, not anymore...we asked our waitress for lemons, to put in our water, right in front of us she stuck her bare hand and was digging in her fingernails into the lemons that where in a bowl with a spoon right there, in the bowl, mind you...I saw that and said to my daughter, "Why would she use her hands"? She turned towards us & said, "oh well, they dont give us anything to grab them with". We got up to leave and she didnt even apologize or said anything to us. I did notice she had a huge tattoo on her neck, so if you decide to go there, make sure thats not your waitress! So sad, we are locals, not bennys! Not going back ever. An unsatisfied customer.

I always enjoy the food here and typically have a positive experience, but I now am refusing to go back because of the way that the managment treated the wait staff. Our waitress was kind, patient and catered to all of our needs but the way that the lady who runs the front desk and cash register spoke to her was rude and uncalled for. The man, who appeared to be the owner, was also acting in that same manner. There is absolutely no reason that someone who works hard and is doing their job should be talked down at and publicly embarrassed in the work place. For this reason I will never be a patron at this establishment again.

Waitress was cranky. Bug in my salad. Quietly brought it to her attention all she said was "ok." She told the manager, no one said or did anything. My brother was missing part of his meal and I never got my bread. Waitress also never came over to see how we were when we had no napkins and we needed refills. Food wasnt great but it was definitely not bad. However there was a bug, poor service, and missing parts of our meal. They didnt even have Parmesan cheese. Im not normally one to post a review but this was just not a good experience.
