If you like your chefs to bare their cracks whilst cooking food, this is the place to go. To begin this review I must state the following. I think we all have an urge for inexpensive Mexican food. And I certainly have a hankering for crisp golden french fries, covered in cheese, and doused in gravy. While certainly the food doesnt have to taste the freshest, it will at times be precisely what I am looking for. Which brings me to this review of Bombers. You will find both the Mexican variety of foods and cheese/gravy smothered fries on the menu, what you will also find is your pockets empty and your stomach upset. The food is neither inexpensive nor does it sit well in your stomach after catching a glimpse of the cooking staff, which I myself have had upon my latest lunch at this establishment. While I can overlook the fact that the food does a moderate at best impression of fresh cooked burritos, I cannot overlook the fact that one member of the cooking staff was wearing his pants sans belt, falling below his knees, with his boxers exposed and dipping modestly below his ass with his crack exposed. This wonderful sight was all taken in while he was bringing an order up the stairs to the bar. So instead, might I recommend Chipotle. It tastes fresh. They serve beer. It is quite reasonably priced. And the staff knows how to keep their pants on.

Subpar food and overboozed drinks. Margaritas made with sweetened lime mix instead of actual lime juice. Food is badly seasoned attempts at tex mex. Youd think a place that prides itself on margaritas and burritos would have good quality of both but thats not the case. Rampant over serving of alchohol in both amount of liquor per drink and quantity given to patrons. Kitchen workers seem to play grab ass with each other and play on their phones which doesnt give much confidence to the food you do get. Manager doesnt seem to care that much though. Ive gotten the BBQ pork a few times and its either huge chunks of meat with a cold center or a scalding hot soup of pork grease. Youd think there would be better quality control or consistency. All feels like a quick cash grab by overcharging for pretty basic stuff. Also I wrote a review for Yelp that was similar and somehow it got removed and after hearing about Yelp soliciting payments for good reviews and advertisements its not surprising. Go next door to Mexican radio if you want real quality food and drink, and polite service that doesnt come from a snippy teenager. Theres so many better options in the area and at least Chipotle is clean enough you dont question if youd get food poisoning or not.

I long for the days of the original Lark St. Bombers and fat, hard-to-handle burritos. Yet Im open to the new, and the Schenectady Bombers has had a special place in my mind since I heard of its impending opening. However, the special place has wandered. The drinks at Bombers are, as always, above par. Besides, its a burrito place and what goes better with burrito than draught beer. And thats difficult to mess up. The margharitas are generous, and delicious, but I havent strayed far from the original. The food is my disappointment. Some dishes are "I could do better than this at home" while others are "wow this is delicious am I inebriated?" And so, after many attempts, Ive found one dish that works and I return to it continuously. The staff is friendly, though not always attentive. The atmosphere is roudy, upstairs anyway. If you want to have good conversation, youll have to sit downstairs...and the downstairs is bright and sterile; not a great date atmosphere. Nonetheless, I know what to expect from Bombers, which is what keeps me returning.

You might have heard that they had a rough opening week, but Im happy to say that our experience at the new Bombers in Schenectady was great. Its a very comfortable setting, and the wait staff were helpful and accommodating. Food wise, I actually prefer their wings myself. Definitely among my top favorite wings in the capital district. Some love their giant burritos, but that’s just a little too much rice for me. By the way, their salsa is really good. Very mild, but you can easily spice it up with their hot sauce (also really nice). Gotta get a few jars next time I stop in. That Prickly Pear Margarita is just too delicious to pass up sometimes. I can’t remember what everyone else in our group had (there were about 10 of us), but the general consensus was pretty much thumbs up all ‘round (even better than their location on Lark St in Albany). Good service, drinks, & eats. What more could you ask for?

this joint needs some serious lesson in the culinary arts of the "burtito"too much greas too much low grade cheese too much of nothing yummy. they need a consistency in the food .the rice is terrible. i had ate burritos on the side of the road in los angeles. the place wasnt much to look at but it had a lil edgy character .but the food was amazing. this place its like an emporium. for no reason. they need to pay actual "cooks" not hardcore kids or punkers kids who dont give a $!#t . then maybe .youll have line outside of people dying to get an amazing burrito.without having to go to texas or California

Unfortunately not impressed as an out of town visitor on a quiet Sunday. Food was "ok", very good quality and fresh, but not very well seasoned. The downstairs staff was apathetic to the point of being rude. Did not explain theverything fact that cocktails were only served/could be purchased in the upstairs part of restaurant. Heres the kicker*** food cannot be purchased downstairs and brought up. And cocktails cannot be brought downstairs. What the? There was no one in there on a Sunday but the speakers were so loud it wasnt even enjoyable to sit and converse. Too bad, we were disappointed.

Absolutely no consistency. There seems to be a high staff turnover and this explains the crap food. The prices keep going up and the food quality keeps going down. Just returned with fries covered in plastic cheese and the driest, tasteless pork imaginable - oh and dont forget the delicious looking veins and parts wallowing around in it. A true stomach turner. The customers are as rude as the staff and whatever you do, dont leave your wallet out of your site for a second. More wallets are stolen in this place than the rest of the city.

Never been to either Bombers locations before. I thought the food was ok(got the Baja Fish Taco Plate). The reason for the 2 stars rating is because of the poor service from the staff downstairs and upstairs. Not sure if we really want to go back. BTW -- theres no signage to tell you this, but if you order food from downstairs, you cannot bring it upstairs. And if you want to order drinks from the bar upstairs, you cannot bring the drinks downstairs. Wouldve been nice to know that when we first got in.

First time to the restaurant and ordered "the mateo" to go. Not 5 minutes later had my 1+ pound burrito to go! Got back to the hotel to unwrap this behemoth. Perfectly wrapped and jammed full of beautifully cooked rice and beans, melt in your mouth pulled pork and fresh crunchy slaw. $9 price tag...Worth it! Only reason not for the 5 stars. Pork was a little too sweet in addition to the mangos in the slaw. Would definitely go back again.
