Where to start? I am giving El Rancho five stars for a variety of reasons and this review is based on two separate accounts. I came across this little gem several months back when I first moved to NJ. I am a Southern Californian guy and have had my fair share of great Mexican food. When I walked in during a late lunch I sat and had some of the best enchiladas ever. Everything was fresh and I later learned everything was prepared in house. I also met Sylvia on this visit, the warm and welcoming owner of El Rancho. After finishing my meal and having a nice chat with her I truly felt like I had a wonderful home cooked meal in Sylvias home. Fast forward several months later to present day, I was setting up a lunch for an office of 27 I call on in my sales territory. Mexican food was requested and I knew just the person to ask! I called and left a message for Sylvia and when she returned my call she remembered exactly who I was and recalled everything we had talked about months prior. Instead of placing the order over the phone I met Sylvia at the restaurant where I was greeted with a hug and a "welcome back". I also got to meet her lovely daughter, Cathy, on this visit who sat with us and together we put together the catering menu which was thoughtfully put together. Sylvia went above and beyond putting together this lunch. When I walked in I couldnt believe how beautiful everything looked. At the center of the table was a large fruit platter with large vibrant yellow chunks of pineapple, red watermelon, and kiwi. Surrounding it were bowls of fresh guacamole, salsa and chips, rice, refried beans, a beautiful tossed salad with her personal heirloom tomatoes from her own garden, El Ranchos signature steak and chicken burritos and quesadillas. I was told by many of the staff members that this was the nicest lunch anyone has ever brought them and they were overwhelmed with how delicious everything tasted and the overall beautiful presentation that Sylvia took the time to create. El Rancho is a GEM in Long Branch. Whether youre headed in for lunch, dinner or having Sylvia cater your event, you wont go wrong with El Rancho. Keep of the great work!

El servicio es muy atento..felicidadez x eso! La comida "pesima" tamales?? Malisimos y consome d pollo? A todo sabe menos a pollo.. Salsa verse para chilakiles verdaderamente acidos sin sabor alguno! Lo siento este lugar era uno d mis favoritos, ahora me ha decilucionado x completo. Spero remedien sto pronto.

I ordered Lunch got the Cubana Sandwich and Nachos De Chorizo. That is by far the best lunch i have had in a long time from a place like this. Not what i expected the place to be and i am thinking over going there at night for sit down dinner. People working there are great i also saw the she Chef she is also very nice. across from the train station and near Dunkin Donuts. You will not be sorry to have gone to this place to eat. Restaurant is cute and decorated nicely but the food has absolutely no flavor. Ive had plenty of authentic Mexican food and this is just NOT it. Service was good. But everything we ordered (guacamole, 2 chicken tacos, tacos al pastor, etc) did not taste like anything. Thank God for the salt on the table because we had to add it to everything we ordered

The food has always been outstanding, but under its new owner, this restaurant has blossomed from a hole in the wall to a really intimate dining spot with nice decor and super friendly service. I always order the shrimp nachos as an appetizer. Also, I never liked flan until I had their super rich flan here.

Sketcky. The food was 50% marked up from the menu price. They had two open items for $8.99 for i have no clue what. Then we asked if gratuity was added they said yes, and we were about to leave then they said it wasnt so they made us leave more money. I was very disappointed by their actions.

I love this place! I ordered the mole enchiladas and my husband had verde enchiladas. Everything was excellent - the sauces were fresh and very well seasoned. Service was wonderful and the decor is very charming. We cant wait to come back and try more items on the menu!

I love going here with my co-workers there really nice! I order before i go and when we get there everything is on the table for us to eat.. the enchiladas are delicious. there guacamole is fabulous! big burritos everything yummie.. also the pupusas are awesome.

Its aiighht. Im from texas so have high standards for mex food. Enchilidas were ok the combo plates were not bad. My fav was the torta really good. Overall a decent place. Plus when u dine in u can watch soccer there.

This place makes good food homemade food. We had the veggie nachos which were enormous and delicious. I also had the chicken tacos which were a little bland and dry but still decnt. I would come back

Tasty authentic food. Wait time for food was a little above average, but everything was nice and fresh. Not as spicy as predicted but enjoyed very much.
