Please if you have anyone in your life touched by a food allergy do not go here! I brought my two year old son there on Sunday, with a big group of people and my older children. My son has a dairy allergy and cannot have ice cream, but loves sprinkles. When I went to order I asked if I could please have sprinkles on the side and I would pay extra for them. The answer was no, because that was their policy. I explained that my son was allergic and would really love some sprinkles. The answer was still no, but the girl said that " I can put the sprinkles on the ice cream and you can shake it onto your hand". I kindly explained that again, my son has a milk allergy and if the sprinkles touched the ice cream, he could not eat it. I offered to buy another whole ice cream, if they would just please put the sprinkles on the side. They said no. I asked to speak to a manager, they said there was no manager, and that I could call the owner at the store when she is in. They left me with the final words "We cant make everyone happy". I cannot believe, that there was absolutely no empathy for a child. A complaint has been filed with the Americans with Disabilities Act, and I will never go back there ever again! I never understood these issues until I became a mother of a child with food allergies, but trust me when I say a little bit of kindness and empathy would have gone along way.

Ive only heard of places like this where Im from! Holy Cow is one of my favorite stores here in Red Hook! The employees are always kind and smiling. Even thought they wont put jimmies(I tried to pay extra. They wont do it, but were so kind about it.) on the pre made cakes in the tall standing case. The flavors and toppings are delicious and come in a large variety to find or create your own favorite! Prices are 100% acceptable for the great quality of the product. Customer service is excellent and the older woman who I often see in there and usually assist me (by chance)is a master of making cones! Id suggest Holy Cow to anyone looking for desserts. CASH ONLY.

This is a really interesting location in that its very small town feeling, but given the location it would be. Cash only in this place, which Id incredulous annoying considering its 2016 and I can go the store and flying camera drone. The ridiculously good ice cream here makes up for that huge misstep but Id definitely give this place five stars if theyd tidy up the place just a bit and and didnt seem so standoffish when taking my ice cream order. Other than that if youre the area, Id definitely go here for ice cream. Just make sure you have cash on you though!

Barbara Larrimore, if your child has a dairy allergy, you should understand that any product at the Holy Cow could have been cross-contaminated with dairy. Had they served your son just the sprinkles, he could have had a reaction due to cross contamination. You clearly understand this as you rejected brushing the sprinkles off a cone. Holy Cow staff acted appropriately and possibly save your child a trip to the hospital.

Is there anyone who has come within a 30 mile radius who doesnt know about this place? Best soft ice cream anywhere; great prices Been coming here more then 2 decades! First thing our house guests ask for. Theres never a wrong season to enjoy it! Even Apres skiing. We finally figured out how to bring ice cream cakes or quarts of the soft ice cream home to Queens with out melting!

Asked for a Coffee Milkshake and saw the girl fill the cup with soft serve and coffee syrup (yuck). I asked her to stop and please make it from the coffee ice cream in the case and was told that they didnt make shakes with hard packed ice cream. I left without the shake. Are they kidding me? Big disappointment.

Places like Holy Cow excite nostalgia in me. Childhood memories of soft-serve ice cream dipped in chocolate take me back to being 5. Now its all about the sundaes...dont expect fancy, just yummy ice cream stand goodness
