I gotta say, for a small place they bring A LOT of flavor. I just left The Shrimp Box a few hours ago, we made a reservation for 6:30pm figuring my brothers high school graduation would take long. Luckily it ended by 4:15. I called Shrimp Box to see if they could bump up our reservation and with no hesitation they accommodated us for a 5:30pm reservation and even allowed us to add a guest!! The only reason I am not giving this place 5 stars is because the parking is HORRIBLE. Even on a Thursday evening there were zero FREE spots. The lot is very tiny, max 20 spots. So we had to pay $4.50 for inlet parking. Thank god that was the only down fall to our evening. When you first walk in you get hit with the view of the docks and boats. The smell of the salty waters and that fresh air. The entire interior is surprisingly low in volume, and very nautically decorated. I wish our table did have a bit more room but we made due. One thing I must stress, the salad bar is FRESH and DELICIOUS! Try the crab salad, I dont know what kind of vinaigrette they put on this salad, but it is DELICIOUS! The crab cakes! Order like 3 orders because its addicting and be careful the sauce has a kick. The Alaskan King Crab legs were beyond perfect. The flavor even without the dipping butter was light yet excited my taste buds because it was seasoned to perfection. The clams casino had a good kick of spice. The lobster bisque could use some more chunks of lobster ;) and the tiramisu was fluffy, light and full of flavor. One of the best Ive ever had the pleasure of eating. And to top it off our waitress Christine was beyond amazing. She answered any questions we had, was prompt with our drinks and food. Re-filled when she saw needed or close to be needed. And she had a great personality. Thank you so much for recommending the King Crab legs! By the way her doppleganger is Eva Mendez lol. I plan on coming back very soon to eat out on the patio for a date night!

Ill start off by saying the meal was excellently cooked and tasted great. However, Ive never experienced such poor, unprofessional behavior. My girlfriend and I were there with a large group for a friends birthday party. Things were winding up when we were brought the bill, only problem was we had desert included with our meal, which the waitress forgot. An easy mistake obviously, since it was so busy. We paid the bill and she said shed come back and take our order for deserts. She returned with the receipt to be signed about 5 minutes later, we returned it, included a nice tip. She then disappeared for 10 minutes! My girlfriend got tired of waiting and excused herself. Shortly after, the waitress returned and told several of us we had to move so another party could come in! She didnt apologize, but told us our deserts would be comped. That was awfully nice, considering deserts were already included with our meals and we had already been charged and paid for them! We reluctantly moved, and she finally took our order. It took about 20 minutes before someone else brought them out to us. No one came back to us after that. Ive lived in Point Pleasant for over 20 years. Point Beach is a tourist town obviously, and I understand that when a place gets busy it can be difficult to keep up with things. However, its a good idea to finish serving the customers you have before ushering in more. You certainly dont tell your customers that theyll have to move when their meal isnt even over! We wont be going back...

The setting is nice and it is a local spot which we support. Took the family there last evening the wait was only about 15 minutes. The hostess was not overly courteous but she wasnt rude either. What we were seated we basically had to run to keep up with our hosts. We sat for about 5 minutes until our server arrived. The server never introduced yourself never asked if we had been there before never offered specials just simply came up and said what do you want to drink. Having two daughters that are servers we are very fair when it comes to rating them. Wheat rosewater with our dinner as we typically do. We placed our order in the server left. We received no further contact with her until our food arrived about 20 minutes later, which is not a bad wait. The food was fair excluding the clams. I had taste your clams out of the frozen food aisle in ShopRite. My wife said she enjoyed her steak my daughter enjoyed the flounder in the scallops. The entrees where about 30% overpriced based on the quality and presentation of food. If you have an extra $100 or so to drop on a mediocre dinner with very poor service this is the place to go. As mentioned earlier, both of our daughters have been servers. As such we tip very well. This was the first time in many years that I actually tipped less than 15%. The server whats so atrocious that even if the food was excellent we would never return to this restaurant.

If there was an option for zero stars I would choose that one. My family ate at this restaurant every weekend throughout the summer. One night we were told the wait was going to be 45 minutes, which was fine for our family because we enjoy the atmosphere and the food. We had waited for about 40 minutes and went up to ask the host how much longer they expected. We were told we were fifth table to be seated. Immediately following a family of 9 waiting next to us could not tolerate the wait. The man went up to the host and complained after only waiting for about 10 minutes. They were told they were sixth. Well George, the host, who also happens to be the owners son preferred to seat the party of 9. They were seated immediately, so we went and complained George informed us that when they have the opportunity to seat a large party they take it. So I went up after waiting another 30 minutes asking how much longer the wait would be, and mind you we have an 85 year old with us. George told me we had one party in front of us. He came out and called the party of 6. We waited another 5 minutes and George followed his moto that larger parties are better and sat a party of 8 using two tables. This will be the last time my family goes to The Shrimp Box. Your family restaurant George, does not cater to families. Lets be honest you are just looking for the biggest tip. Way to go George!

I have recently dined at the Shrimp box. I waited 45 minutes to eat the most disguting seafood I have ever had. The place is like a giant diner with high priced food. I ordered an entree that was 27 dollars and it wasnt really even edible. The seafood was not fresh, it was definatly frozen. The lobster was overcooked and was horrible. The shrimp were the smallest shrimp I have ever been served at a restaurant. Every piece of seafood tasted to same, you couldnt tell a shrimp from a lobster from a scallop because they use the same seasoning all all of them and overcook them all. The soups were bad and so were the appitizers. The place was soo busy that the service was just as bad as the food. We were never there before and no one explained to us that the salad bar was included with the meal. Our waitress dumped a big dish of butter when we sat and we never got any bread, when we asked he she said go get it at the salad bar. The line was soo long there who wanted to wait to get a slice of bread or a salad. I eat out alot and this is by far the worst place I have been to in the last 5 years. Save your money and eat at a diner or Mcdonalds because they both serve better food and thats not saying much. If you want a view of the water go next door to the Lobster Pot its a small place but wow the foods fresh.
