We arrived for our 8:30 reservation, finally found Jean who was with regulars-was shown to a table by the noisy swinging doors to the kitchen. We asked to switch but were told the other open table was reserved--two hours later nobody. We finally did move but it must have been to an orphan table, certainly not a desirable one.Somebody finally took pity and served us. They were nice. The food took forever, and in fact the table next to us complained about that before we had a chance to. Food was ok-- if you are not a regular it is not worth the trouble. I agree with Forgettable.

My husband and I were there mid February, and it was nothing special. It is very overpriced for what you get, both in quantity and quality, and the ambiance is nonexistent. In addition, the proprietress is a real snob--if you are not her idea of the right kind of customer, ie hoity toity, you are pretty much ignored--not a really good way to treat your customers, especially if you ever want them to come back. Overall, it was forgettable and not a place we would visit again.

This is a lovely, out of the way place which serves wonderful food. It has the feel of a neighborhood gathering place, just keep in mind that the neighborhood happens to be the fairly affluent horse country of North Salem. Im no insider, but have been here several times with all of the meals good and some great. Weve never felt unwelcome, have always enjoyed the place whether by ourselves or with guests.

Got my order of duck. First slice was great. The second was raw. Not rare, totally raw. It was supposed to be confit which is cooked slowly in its own get. Not close. They took it back and it was cooked it in what may have been a microwave. So the rest came back overvcooked and tough. How did they hand me raw duck? Disappointing.

Vox is one of the greatest places Ive been. From the beautiful views to the amazing staff. The owners are always there to make you feel welcome. When you do go, make sure you try the duck. Its fantastic!!! Also try the croque, oysters, or any of the fish.

Beautiful French restaurant, friendly staff and seems to attract very happy and loyal following. Had the veal with potato gratin and a nice glass of borduex outside overlooking the rolling lawn, couldnt have been better.
