We have been to Bacios many times since it opened, & up until this Valentines Day, we have always had wonderful meals & recommended it to many people. All that stopped last week, when we were kept waiting, despite having a reservation. Our server, who was too busy chatting with the other customers to take our order for wine, reluctantly took our food order, & then disappeared for about a half hour. (The menu was quite limited, unlike the usual menu.) Other people who were seated the same time as us were getting their orders, while we sat at our table, being ignored by our server, who never bothered to show up again. The food arrived about half an hour later, and was acceptable, but not up to Bacios usual quality. When we finally had to walk up to our server to ask for our check, without making eye contact she handed it to us, apparently aleady prepared, without asking if there was anything else we wanted. She then resumed talking to some other (no doubt more frequent) diners. If Bacios wants to run the place like a private club, maybe it should become one, instead of holding itself as a public dining facility. We will not be returning.

Bacio might be the best Italian restaurant in the area. Every dish seems to the bring its A game. Recent design upgrades expanded the restaurant and provided a nice, clean look. The owner is always there and makes sure things run smoothly. Start with the fried calamari. But dont fill up on apps because the main courses are absurdly good. If you are looking for some heavy pasta, go with the Cannelloni. If you want meat, you absolutely need to go with the Berkshire Pork Chop with Cherry Peppers -- it is exploding with flavor and heat. The cherry peppers blend perfectly with the port and sausage. Deserts are also good. Wine: go simple with a glass of the benvolio pinot grigio. Cheap but tasty.

I dont know if they havent worked out their post renovation kinks or what, but the meal we had here tonight was abysmal. Hunts canned tomato sauce passed off as marinara, mussels in flavored water and cannelloni in a cream sauce that was just cream and butter - no seasoning. I wont mention the bottled lemon juice/butter concoction that was passed off as sauce for my fish. Ewww.

My family eats here or orders from here about 3x a week. Very consistent food and service. All servers are very attentive and the food proves to be fresh every single time. Tony is from Italy and brought all of his familys recipes with him, including his home-made limoncello. Make sure to order dessert when you go because theyre all home made too.

Horrible service. No love in the food. We came at 4pm on a Sunday, so maybe the B crew. But they clearly didnt want to try to please us. The mussels were sent back, dry and tasteless. Avocado and crab salad was terribly bland. Just no life to a place that otherwise looks great. Too bad.

Great chefs. Pasta is always cooked al dente. You might wait a little bit longer to get served, but take into consideration that each dish is being made freshly for you. We travel here from Stamford and believe its worth the trip. Highly recommended.
