Now living in Niagara Falls, NY Im sorry to say that the local Indian food is generally very poor. Which makes me thrilled to say that my first time trying Sardar Sahib was excellent. I love all kinds of ethnic food but Indian is my favorite. I have sampled Indian food from around the world and I can honestly say that I would rank Mr. Sahibs as just short of the best Ive ever had - and Im a tough critic. I had the Chicken Makhani (a dish very very often screwed up by many Indian restaurants, imo), Shrimp Vindaloo (a spice lovers delight), and two breads: Onion Kulcha and Aloo Paratha, spicy breads made with onions and potatoes respectively. Very pleased with the robust flavors, the near perfect texture of the meats as well as the sauces. The bread was perfectly textured and delicious, though not as spiced as i like. The rice was perfectly done with a delicate spicing - though i prefer a more powerful saffron taste it was still quite good and complimented the sauces very well. Overall I feel very comfortable in giving it an 8 of 10, which is quite unusual. btw, I honestly felt it was going to be good when I walked in because it smelled fantastic and many of them spoke very broken English (lol but true), but they were nice and I was able to learn that Sardar means Mister and Sahib is the owner. And fyi, Im not an employee or anything, Im just a guy that lives nearby that tried it for the first time. If you are in NFNY and have the itch for good Indian food, go here. Thank you Mr. Sahib.

Among a myriad of restaurants touting to provide a good taste of the Indian cuisine, Sardar Sahib is probably the only one that lives up to its name. With an unassuming exterior, overshadowed by a large banner by the rival neighboring Indian restaurant "Taste of India", it is easy to miss on the Third St. After a days worth of disappointing Indian Food (visiting in-laws wanted nothing but Desi khana), we literally hunted for good reviews on Indian restaurants in the general area of Niagara falls. On the second day of visit, we decide to try this restaurant simply because it had a very good set of reviews online. Needless to mention, we were pleased at the overall food quality, cleanliness of the restaurant and PRICES!! When most of the Indian eateries in this area have a $12.00 lunch buffet, Sardar Sahib provides a sumptuous spread at $10.00. Tasting every one of the 8-10 dishes on the lunch buffet on a Sunday turned out to be a culinary delight which in turn prompted us to revisit in the evening. Tandoori Roti, Chicken Makhani and Chicken Biryani served for dinner was equally delicious. Accommodating us at 10.15 PM at night for dinner with a pleasant hello by the gentleman at the door and some friendly chit-chat by the lady of the house is also worth a mention. Try to find this hidden gem on the Third Street, itll be totally worth your time.

Slow food preparation, over salted, over cooked, under spiced. We showed up for dinner at 6PM on a Saturday night in the off season. It was relatively crowded, perhaps 1/2 the tables occupied. The dining area is not handicap accessible and the 4 steps up were difficult for the elders that were with me. We were greeted, seated immediately, ordered and waited. The wait staff is friendly and attentive. The food took an extremely long time to prepare. As in some cases, this may be due to food preparation from scratch. It was almost an hour. The food showed up and tasted overcooked, under spiced (we asked for medium what we got was barely mild), and over salted. The Saag was a gray green puree that tasted like a bag of frozen creamed spinach that someone sprinkled a few spices in and then knocked over the salt shaker . The lamb rogan josh was cooked to a grayish brown. I will try this place one more time based on the other reviews just to see if it was just a bad night where they were understaffed. The only explaination for the crowds at the tables was the slow food preparation.

i had been to Niagara last month. Without any doubt Niagara is a great place to visit in US. Niagara state park is a huge place where you have to walk around a lot and see. So we got very hungry, which made us look for a good Indian restaurant, instead of going with a cafe in that state park we checked the rating and decided to go with Zaika and glad we did. The feel of the restaurant was welcoming.Service was great. Our mobile phones ran out of charge, and the waiter was so kind and helpful that he offered his charger to charge my mobile. and we felt great hospitality in his service while serving food. We decided to go for Lunch buffet as we were very hungry and we were glad to see a wide spread of Veggies. Appetizer (we had Samosa that day) is the best i have had in US till date. The food (Naan, Panner butter masala, Dal Makhani, Aalu Gobi) was authentic. Dessert was out of the world. On the whole, if you are looking for great ambiance, service, food and value for Money, Zaika is the place that you should go when you are in Niagara.

Just returned from a visit here, and it was one of the best dining experiences Ive ever had. A tourist bus load of [thirty-nine] people was loading in when my dad and I got there, but we were still seated within twenty minutes (and it had looked busy prior to the buss arrival). After we started our first round of the feast, a second bus of thirty-two people arrived and was seated. Despite the insane business, the entire staff we witnessed remained delightful and "on top" of everything (shout out to our server Rose; sadly we didnt get the names of anyone else) . Furthermore, every dish being served was spot-on in flavour. It may be pertinent to add that only buffet dining was available during our visit, but the price was cheaper than what we pay per-dish at an Indian restaurant near where we live.

This Indian restaurant is within walking distance from the Niagara Falls tourist area and there is 2 hour parking on 3rd Street. The restaurant has a full bar area, wine and beer lists. The interior is beautifully designed and decorated, very warm and friendly atmosphere! The menu is extensive and the buffet has an excellent variety of foods to choose from. I was totally delighted to taste a wide range of wonderful Indian spicing for good flavors and not to spicy hot. This was a very enjoyable meal hosted by very nice servers. The lunch price was right for this great value but, I was just a little confused with the receipt which includes a gratuity chart for their buffet. I will certainly return to Zaika Indian Cuisine again in the near future! ...THANK YOU

Highly recommended for good Indian food at Niagara. One of my friend wanted to have halal meat. When we called the restaurant, they told us that, "we dont have halal chicken/goat curry tonight. Halal goat curry was menu in the afternoon." But as the restaurant was near to our hotel and reviews were good, we decided to go there and my friend (who wanted the Halal meat) decided to have veg food. After reaching there, when the manager come to know that we are the same people who called to check for Halal meat, he specially prepared the Halal goat curry for us. Not being this is the only reason, the food was very good. Specially chicken curry and Goat curry. Sweets were also good. The staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. Good restaurant.
