Great lunch buffet at a great price. Food:The buffet is not big, like some Indian buffets Ive gone to. Smallish to medium I would say. Food was fresh and full of flavor. It was quality, tasted like this would have been served for their more expensive dinner menu. Nice selection of vegetarian and meat items. Included: curry chicken, tandoori chicken, tempura fried veggies, sauteed mixed veggies, etc. The curry sauce was awesome. I mainly ate the vegetarian items. There was also: basmati rice, a mild curry soup, and two dessert selections--flan and a type of pudding. I was too stuffed to try dessert. They brought naan to the table and there are good choices of herbal tea. Service: Host was nice and beautifully dressed. She cleared plates quickly from my table. Decor: Elegant furnishings. Wood carved, high back chairs. A piano up front and a small stage with nice draped curtains in the back. Very elegant, would be great for an upscale party or small event. Large screen playing Bollywood movies. Next time I will try dinner.

Got takeout tonight and truly enjoyed the service as well as the food. I went in simply for takeout and was immediately invited to sit and enjoy some water and crisp bread with sauce while I waited. Both the server (who I assume was the owner) and the man who served me the water and bread were extremely courteous and friendly. The restaurant was almost empty, which made me wonder how good the food was. However I got home with my garlic Naan and Tikka Masala Chicken and rice and it was extremely creamy and the perfect amount of spice and sweetness. Very good quality food and great customer service. Sad that the restaurant doesnt appear to be doing well, probably due to intense competition but would definitely recommend.

The ambience is descent along with the service. I went there during lunch and the staff automatically assumed I wanted the buffet. (Or maybe they dont offer al-a-carte during the day.But I wouldnt know because I never got a chance to ask). I convinced myself to trying the buffet since it had been a while. It lacked variety of "subji(s)" (curries). The ones they had were very similar to each other. Being an Indian , the taste was very monotonous throughout the curries, in my opinion . Also, to me the food was quite bland and less flavorful compared to other Indian places around.

We went to try this restaurant out for the first time for their weekend buffet and ALL of the food on the buffet was stone cold with a film that sat on top of each of dishes. We a few spoon fulls and realized that every dish was cold and told our waiter. The waiter went over and cut the heating dish back on, which would have taken about an hour to reheat everything. I dont know if they were trying to save $ by cutting the buffet heater off but they lost our business. We walked out. I suggest finding other ways to save money if that was the intention. We wont be back again.

Horrible service!!! Just tonight my wife and I were on Poonas website, and we called and placed an order. Minutes later they called back and were arguing with us regarding what was on the website. Last time I checked I am not illiterate and when a combination platter indicates that the meal contains 3 items it means 3 items. The lady kept saying that it only includes 2 items. After agreeing to honor the website she had the nerve to call once more to argue some more. Please do not eat at this horribly run restaurant from people who obviously dont know how to run a business.

I think this restaurant do not serve fresh food. It seems the food has been prepared earlier than freeze and re heated when order placed. The meat is worse part, we found pinkies part inside chicken. so, it is not even cooked properly and may be bad source meat . we tried three times and did not satisfied one time. The service are OK. And.... Yes, this is called Indian but no one is from there from India. They are all from Bangladesh. Please save your money and go somewhere other Indian restaurants like Mirch Masala, Palace, Madras Chetinand and others...

Went in with my Boss today and was treated better than going to some family members homes. The owner was a geniunely great person and so was his assisting staff. After research ive found these guys have been in business for a while and i see why. The best Indian food in Atlanta....possibly ever. I recommend every one definantly with the reasonable prices. Id give 6 stars if possible, awesome food and atmosphere!

I am no food expert but living in Mumbai for 25 years I can differentiate between great, good and bad food. This is the first time I tried Poona (for dinner) since I moved to Atlanta and I would say its a good restaurant. The service is very good, folks there are very polite, the ambience is decent and the vegetarian food is good. I will definately go there again and would recommend it to my friends.

My wife and I have been to this restaurant many times over the past few years. The staff is always friendly, the food is fantastic. We have dragged in many of our friends whom loved their food as well. I highly recommend this place to anyone whom wishes to try or enjoys indian food, first timers should go for the buffet, affordable and gives you a little taste of everything.

I had been to the original restaurant further down on Pleasant Hill Rd. and was sad when they closed. Just today I found out that they are open at a new location and went there with a group from work. The lunch buffet had a good selection and everything I tried was delicious. There were a few empty trays on the buffet, which were filled up again in short order.

Great tasting weekday lunch buffet for $8 (not sure about weekend) . Selection was good, not huge but not too small either. Bathroom and restaurant was clean. Service was awkward, especially the manager to whom I recommend not stepping on your waiters toes. But it wasnt any worse than most buffets service wise and the tablecloths lent an elegance to the decor.

We were at Poona last weekend and I must say the food there is very delicious. We ordered chicken tikka masala and chicken biryani and both were very delicious. Also the ambience was very classy and comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves Indian food or anyone who wants to try authentic Indian flavor. A must visit place!

We have been coming to Poonas for over 20 years. We enjoy the food and all the staff/owners. My daughter was taught to eat Indian food when she was 5 years old she started eating the soup and naan. Now she is 28 yrs lives out of state when she is home that is the first place she wants to eat. By far our favorite Indian Restaurant.

Ive been here several times now, and have never had a bad experience. Today was my first time trying the lunch buffet and it was absolutely amazing!!!!! So many veggie options, and fresh food. I am not typically a fan of buffets, but since Im rushing to make my flights, I decided to give it a try. Ill definitely be back to.

Been a regular customer here. Food is quite alright but the ambience is very nice. I decided to treat my extended family for Buffet and the service was very disappointing. We had ordered some additional items and it came out wrong and the owner was very rude and did not take any responsibility for the mistake
