The chairs are what I would expect a naughty 5 year old to be sat on. If youre taller than 56 or 120 pounds youre in for an uncomfortable dining experience. Hideous cheap metal-not cool-just uncomfortable. Add to that the tables being literally on top of each other & its not for the claustrophobes either. Ok-so bad seats, rubbish layout. Ah yes the noise-AWFUL. I swear if they measured this it would be at pneumatic drill joining you for dinner level. Sorry silly people but this isnt "buzz" this is just din plain and simple and playing the awful music even louder than the poorly designed acoustics doesnt help either. Ok it must have got better and been worth it for the food or service? Nope. Our waitress was terrible. Couldnt answer the question on how big a pizza was and simply failed to check on us leaving glasses empty for most of the meal YET desperate to see us leave when the door line was getting bigger. The pizza-average average average. Tasted like cheap cheese on toast not a good mozzarella in sight. There is no point bothering with a classic thin italian crust if you are going to put cheap cheese atop of it. Interesting choices however. Cant comment on much past the pizza. The $15 san daniele ham i ordered was incredibly tasteless. Overall-absoluetly not impressed, couldnt actually wait to get out of there. That said there was plenty of hussling at the door desperate to get in-you can have my seat. Will not be going back ever! So many better places available in this city.

When Dale said we were going to a French Bistro on the corner of Bowery and Houston Street, I rolled my eyes…… Dale doesnt generally like French Bistros and I dont like to fight traffic with a half hour $18 taxi ride for that kind of dinner……..but, ok, our dinner guest lives in the neighborhood and the restaurant got a good review in the NY Times (generally another reason not to go). Cherche Midi was a pleasant surprise.........a large, square room designed to look the way it should (light of hand)...........a pleasant greeting from the folks in charge..........a nice table spaced so theres action but not close enough to make new friends………and you can hear each other talking even though the restaurant is designed with hard surfaces. Across the street from Whole Foods, the clientele looks it...........thats a good thing. Staff if plentiful, young, attractive and on the ball. Appetizers were terrific. Entrees workmanlike. If we lived in the area, wed come all the time..........its that kind of restaurant. As we dont, its on the list when having dinner with people who do.

When I first walked into Pulinos, the sight of their decor filled me with awe. I like their location right on the corner of Bowery and E. Houston. Good spot. I tried two different pizzas. First, I ordered Cavolo Nero (black kale, smoked mozzarella, squash, and walnut pesto) and I thought the taste was a bit too sweet (squash) for me but the pizza crust was perfect and crispy The second pizza that my friend ordered, I liked this one better than Cavolo Nero. It was Prosciutto Arugula (thin prosciutto, raw arugula on top, pecorino, and garlic). Next time, Ill order Prosciutto Arugula. I had Gothic Rose - Pinot Noir from Oregon and it was OK. I preferred to have wine in a wine glass than regular small glass. The waiter was just fine but two busboys were sort of annoyed. They tried to take our unfinished foods/drinks away without asking. The busboys kept clinging each other while worked. Can they work independently? Pulinos takes online reservations. When we arrived around 9PM, it was already packed. And... we had our reservation ready which was nice and efficient.

Full disclosure, were huge fans, early discoverers of Balthazar who moved on to enjoy Pastis, Schillers and Minetta Tavern, and now theres another joyous restaurant with his magical touch. The place was buzzing on opening night, the bar crowded and everybody seemed as happy as we were with the pizzas, etc. We had three different versions, all delicious, and what a kick to have the option of getting an egg atop a pizza. Wine list is reasonably priced and offers a terrific selection, including his signature carafes. Appetizer of mussels was fun. Desserts were great. The setting is fun and casual with staff wearing t-shirts and eager to please, friendly and helpful despite the fact that they can barely move through the crowds and are on the go. Our waitress, Liz, could not have been more delightful. With two bottles of wine, our tab came to just under $200 for four people (two desserts). Congratulations to everyone involved. They all appeared (deservedly) happy.

I eat at the bar when i go..usually with 1 friend.. Not a place I would take a group...Everything i ever ordered was excellent...not really noted to be a burger joint .. there is only one burger on the menu its 16 bux and worth everydime.. One of the best burgers . ever had.. I also had the Fried Calamari, tender ,melted in your mouth .fresh lemon and tomatoe sause dipp.. The Ricotta /Brocallirabe bruchetta is INSANE Southern Italian influence.. I love the place... the open kitchen and management of wait staff is exceptional.. Like i said i eat at the bar but always peak behind me to see all the tables packed being catered to by wait staff and a generall BUZZ from patrons enjoying good food/drinks. The bartenders are always fast and friendly and handling customers... real customers have no problem interacting with the staff.... go to the bar.. order a moretti and look at the menu.....

Overall Impression: Pulinos is a casual bar and pizzeria located in the lively Nolita ( "North of Little Italy") district. Quite popular - the entire place was filled up by 7:30 pm, Pulinos seems to lag a little behind its closest counterparts - Co., Donatellas, Motorino and especially Robertas. That said, there is nothing wrong with Pulinos: if you are looking to grab a drink and some decent food for a reasonable price - it is a good downtown place to stop by. Please take a look at the pictures from Pulinos here:

One of the trendy places to eat pizza in NYC. You would think the pizza would suck, it doesnt. My friend and I had come in here as a walk-in with a quick wait time. The service was on point. My friend and I ordered the margarita pie. It was so good we ordered a second and a third. Thin crust topped with a great sauce and creamy cheese. The pie was crunchy by lacked some of the chewiness. I suggest you get a table outside if the weather is nice, a lot of interesting things to see.

Food - black label burger - best burger in the city. Second time having it and it didnt disappoint - Waldorf salad (appetizer) - nothing special - cauliflower side - great side option with an interesting sauce - lemon tart (desert) - nothing special either. Great atmosphere. Upscale cafe that is actually a quieter ambience ( which can be tough to find in NYC) Overall, enjoyable experience but was a slightly disappointed as I had higher expectations coming in

Ive been here twice and both times have been the same. The place is super packed and there was always a wait. The service is fine but nothing memorable. The food is also fine but pricey for what it is. Also, I wasnt too fond of their brunch options. Plates were on the smaller side and I didnt think I was saving much money in comparison to having dinner there. Overall, this place is fine but I think there are much better options around this hood.
