I had a difficult time choosing the star rating because my review is actually two reviews in one. I cannot say enough good things about the food and the ambiance and the service! Our server, Michael, was wonderfully attentive, knowledgable and accommodating. Our meals were impeccable (escargot, duck-to-die-for, lobster, creme brûlée-to-kill-for and chocolate torte). The restaurant is lovely and I was glad we opted to sit inside and take in the beauty & conviviality of the main dining area, although the weather would have permitted outdoor dining. We had a moment to speak with one of the owners, Heather, who was also the hostess for the evening. We raved about the food and inquired about the genesis of the restaurant. All good stuff. There wasnt a thing on the menu we didnt want to try and we talked with Michael about return visits even before ordering. He wisely told us of their midweek prix fixe offerings and promised to provide the menu when we were leaving. [END PART ONE] Once we had the check, I reminded Michael about wanting to see the prix fixe menu which he gladly and promptly went to retrieve, however he had difficulty locating it. He came back, said he needed to ask the owner for assistance, and would be right back. Heather was in the back bar and the two of them went up front and Michael indeed returned with the prix fixe menu. This is where the entire evening fell apart and cemented in both our minds that unsettled feeling whereby weve lost much of our desire to return---Heather loudly and unpleasantly says to Michael, right in front of us "make sure they understand that the prix fixe is ONLY for Tuesdays through Thursdays," as if presupposing that Michael hadnt already told us this (which he did when he first mentioned it) or as if we wouldnt have been able to read such on the menu. Its hard to explain her tone of voice which was both brusque and chastising but it was wildly off-putting. Michael immediately looked uncomfortable when handing me the menu and I preempted him by saying "yes, I heard her and, yes, that is what you had already told us," followed by my inquiry "she seemed irritated???" to which he meekly replied that he had interrupted her dinner. [END PART TWO] And there you have it folks: you can have a near-perfect experience but if the last impression a diner has leaves a bad taste in their mouth, there is no amount of delicious food to offset that. Thank you again to Michael for what was a truly memorable evening and for his willingness to get the menu for us regardless.

After driving from Ohio to visit family for Christmas, we decided to take my parents out for dinner throughout the week to local restaurants that looked unique and had favorable reviews. Originally, we decided to go to the nearby Persian Bite on Saturday, and we were going to go to Chez Nous on Tuesday. We accidentally turned into the Chez Nous parking lot, and didnt realize we were there until we were inside (parking lot is out back, and we entered through the side, so I didnt see the sign). We were greeted with absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The lady at the entrance (manager?) yelled at me for holding the door open for my family before they were fully up the ramp (I understand she was concerned about cold air entering the restaurant, but at least have some manners and politely ask your customers to keep the door closed). When I asked where Persian Bite was, she chastised us for parking in their parking lot. I initially thought we would just swap the restaurant nights and eat at Chez Nous, but after experiencing the pathetic service, I felt so embarrassed for my parents, that I decided we wouldnt come back to eat here. Im sure their food is good, but the ladys miserable attempt of welcoming customers killed our desire to eat there. We may have caught her on an "off-night," as she had to work Christmas Eve, but the deplorable dimeanor caught us off guard and made us want to never come back again. I recommend walking two doors down and experiencing the Persian Bite hospitality and delicious food.

Second time here and once again the food is pretty good. This time it was Restaurant Week and we both had the Mushroom Bisque, Coq Au Vin, and the Apple Tarte. The soup was good, maybe just a little under seasoned. The Coq Au Vin was very good, with tender and moist chicken, perfect potatoes, onions, and carrots. We had to split the last Apple Tarte because they ran out. They have us vanilla ice cream to replace the second Tarte and it was pretty good also. I would have given Chez Nous a 4 for food alone, unfortunately the service wasnt the best. Tables of people around us sat there waiting politely for their waiters, all of which are experts in avoiding eye contact. Tables didnt get cleared or took a while to, and it made me wonder if they recently fired the bus person. The hostess didnt even help clear tables or offer to refill water, which was very strange since its common for them to, and the wait staff couldve really used the help. Worse yet, the waiter never apologized for any inconveniences or delays. They couldve simply acknowledged the situation on a human level.

Starting with the impeccable service, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Chez Nous. I had an especially good raspberry Cosmopolitan, and my husband enjoyed a single malt scotch from their selection. We had the onion soup and mushroom stew en croute appetizers. The soup was too full of onion and short on broth for my taste. Husband loved the tart. Entrees were absolutely wonderful. I had Coquille St. Jacques (first time without cheese, but added caviar) and husband had pork chop with accompanying asparagus and a rice dish. Bread was served, but was room temperature, not warm. This is a unique and special restaurant. They pay close attention to each customer and offer special foods unavailable elsewhere. Overall it is well worth the somewhat high cost, $149 for what Ive described.

Scrumptious! The Salade aux Endives was almost too lovely to eat, but after the first bite there was no stopping me! Delectable Trout Almondine, one of several specials. I was too full to order dessert, but my table mates insisted I taste theirs: Belgian chocolate mousse with berries, house-made coffee ice cream with chocolate pieces. Oh, yum!

I had one of the better meals of my life here last Saturday. Every course and part of the meal, from greeting to exit was well executed. The filet was a great cut and perfectly cooked. The wine was a great recommendation by our waiter. We had a great table and the ambience was formal without being over bearing.

My family spent a wonderful evening at Chez Nous to celebrate my wifes birthday in March. The atmosphere, service, and especially the food were all superb. Kudos to Andy and Heather and their staff for creating a fine ding experience!

The best french onion soup I have ever had (Gruyere cheese). The lobster thermidor, truffle fries, and duck with raspberry foam was memorable. I was unable to manage dessert though I understand the chocolate torte was excellent

A restaraunt I cant wait to come back to. Best scallops I have ever had in my life. The liver patte appetizer is awesome. And the drinks are spot on. Owner was wonderful and kind. This is a special place for a special occasion!

Overpriced - each main course ordered had one or more issues, salty, under-done, or inconsistently done. Perhaps we dined on a bad day, but it was for a birthday and the guest of honor did not have a great meal.
