4.25 stars. Very nice, authentic French Restaurant on Vernon Boulevard, conveniently located near the 7 train station. The menu includes many traditional french bistro items. It is a small space and often there is a wait, especially for dinner. It can be very loud when it is crowded, but the food is great. In particular, I recommend the Boeuf Bourguignon and the creme brulee. The staff is courteous and friendly. When my friend and I had to wait an extra long time for our meals to arrive, the waiter poured us each a complimentary glass of Bordeaux. The pricing for the quality of food, and for a French restaurant is much lower than you would find in Manhattan. When I went, they only accepted American Express, which is inconvenient. Definitely, a great restaurant.

We went there this past weekend for brunch and it was very disappointing. Despite the menu being nothing special at all (you can find the exact same stuff at any other restaurant), it was terribly poor quality. The lettuce that came with the eggs were not fresh at all, brown on edges and soggy. Besides that, it had no other veggies in it, but few leaves with the dressing. Even the fries were tasteless. I came from the family of chefs and maybe I have higher standards than a regular customer, but you must have no respect for your customers to give them ingredients that arent fresh. Oh and regular brunch drinks are $9. This is crazy! Presenting a very dull, poor quality menu with the french accent does not make a great restaurant. Never coming back.

I went last year for my birthday and had an amazing experience. All of the servers were French and quite amiable. I was intimidated by the small space at first but the square footage really wasnt memorable by the end of the night. Im a picky eater but I tried the escargot and could not have enough of it. The server was great with helping me decide what I should eat and I was very pleased with all my choices. We even had pleasant conversation with the servers at the end of the night. Im going back again for my birthday this year and am very much looking forward to it.

Tournesol was exactly what I was looking for in a small, French Cafe. I had an amazing full bodied, and rich cappuccino expertly made, and ordered the Endive salad with pears, blue cheese and walnuts. The salad was great, not overdressed, and a nice way to start my brunch. The wait staff was extremely attentive from the start, and looked after our table quite well. All in all Tournesol is cozy, and warm, the staff is friendly, and the food is spot on. Give them a go for a brunch, and I promise you will leave happy and full!

Quaint restaurant with amazing French food! I love the ambiance, I love the staff and the owners are very kind and welcoming! My favorite dish that I always fall back to, even though everything Ive tried is very good, is the Croque madame, so delicious, I cant rave about it enough! And the little salad with the amazing house dressing they serve with it is perfect! In a city with so many good restaurant choices, this one sticks out among the best!

Food was great. The steak frites was one of the best Ive ever had and was cooked perfectly (I like my meat rare). The foie gras was also extremely good. I will say the service could use a big step up on the pleasantries. This was my first time venturing to long island city (only 4 stops on the 7 from times square) so its possible Id return. The prices are good too but thats what you get out of the city right?

A fantastic and cozy little French restaurant in Long Island City that has been around for a number of years. Ive been there twice, and left really satisfied both times. Im a little surprised that a fellow reviewer had to endure rude service, though Ive only had excellent service both times Ive been there. Id go back in a heartbeat, and certainly would recommend Tournesol to my friends.

Un petit coin de France qui ne se prend pas au sérieux mais fait sérieusement son boulot, à savoir une cuisine française de qualité à un prix raisonnable, ce qui est rare à New York.

Wonderful French bistro. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The decor is tight but very continental. Try to mussels in white wine and the hangar steak with fries. The wine is list is pretty impressive. Their prix fixe menu is a very tasty bargain. Weve been coming here for years and its a great place to celebrate special occasions or just for a romantic dinner.

Get the french toast. Get the french toast. Get the french toast. Its that simple. Its amazing. If you use syrup, youre doing it wrong. Youre like one of those people that asks for A1 in a steakhouse. Put it down... Put. it. down. Taste it first. If you think it needs a little syrup, then go ahead and put a litt... no. It doesnt need it. Its just that good.

Incredible food with rich and complex tastes. Not only does it have a wonderful selection of appetizers and entrees, but the deserts all taste next to perfect. I recommend this place to anyone who enjoys a good night out. The staff is absolutely lovely, the food is great, and the décor ties the experience all together.

A squeeze-together, claustrophobic restaurant that serves above average french cuisine - if youre stranded in Long Island City - then beggars cant be choosers. One grumpy, un-smiling, "looks-like-shes-mad-at-her-patrons" waitress, the opposite of the two, "want-to-please" waiters. Request a table with the waiters!

Sacre bleu! Divine delicacies delight in this petite Long Island City bistro. The sauces are sublime, the entrees entrancing, the service is fine, and the desserts...mon dieu! All at a price that would be 25 percent higher in Manhattan. If only zee sounds of conversation were not so loud, zis would be paradise.

Pleasant experience. The three men having lunch across the isle along with the french music transported me to France. The Skate fish dish was delish and the salad with watermelon and melted brie had so much cheese it could have been a lunch for two by itself! A bit more watermelon would have been nice.

Brunching at Tournesol reminds me of a Paris bistro. Really. I like coming here because the brunches are reasonably priced and they make a mean croque madame. There is usually never a wait to eat here and the staff is warm and friendly. Their location cant be beat! They are right outside the 7 train!

I almost dont want to write this review because Tournesol is like a secret you dont want to share because you want to keep it to yourself. A Parisian bistro that feels more authentic than almost all bistros in Manhattan, its simple food done right. No pretension either. And always great specials.

My daughter reserved 5 seats, because we could not get a reservation at another restaurant. What a pleasant surprise!!! Wonderful food, wonderful service! When visiting NYC , it will be part of our gastronomy. Tres bon!
