My girlfriend and I dined at Basera for dinner on a Wednesday night. We had a good experience overall. The restaurant is casual with TVs at the bar and dining room. Medium size dining room is comfortable and well spaced with Indian pop music playing in the background. The staff was accommodating and welcoming. Food/drink service was timely and professional for the most part. I ordered the prix fixe dinner and happy hour wine. The wine was satisfying and of good quality. Their Naan is incredible! I chose the Tikki Masala with Lamb for my entree. They brought out the wrong entree initially, but the savory, complex flavor of the masala made up for it. Lamb was tender, juicy and plentiful. The bed of rice underneath was also fluffy and delicious. Basera is a great choice for Indian cuisine in Hells Kitchen. I recommend you give it a shot.

Horrible - Ordered from them many times in the past and this has become my new go to place for Indian food in NYC. The lat 3 orders were all messed up. The vegetable jalfrezi was definitely just frozen veggies knocked into some tomato sauce. Today I placed an order for 3 meals at 11.06 am and the meals come in at 12.50 pm after repeated phone calls and follow ups. Their confirmation email stated that the meal would be delivered by 11.45 am. I had ordered 3 separate dishes - one mild, one medium and one extra extra extra spicy. They have not bothered to label any of the dishes, so you dont even know one from the other. When I called them 10x times, they claimed the delivery driver was stuck in the elevator. Most ridiculous customer service with no care for the fact that they messed up.

The waiter was quite attentive when we were ordering and had even said that he would bring another type of drink since I hadnt liked my order, but he did not. The food was delicious, however, and thankfully they were quite #foodallergy aware. The waiter & manager stated that they are quite careful & thorough because they recognize how important it is to prevent cross contamination. The portions were just right for the 3 of us and we actually had enough for a late night snack. It was all served in a timely and courteous manner even though they were quite packed on a Saturday night. I would def return when Im in the neighborhood since there were some #budgetfriendly dishes.

Horrible!!!!! Went in and was seated as requested. Then when we placed order, the lassi was stale, samosas were with no flavor. Ordered mild biryani, but was served spicy. When shared with waiter, his answer was that biryani is supposed to be spicy. Excuse me dumb nut, I did not ask for your retarded opinion. You were supposed to correct the biryani. Then we had ordered onion and chilies with naan and vegetable and they served them to is after we were done eating our food. Just pathetic. Cannot recommend this place to anyone. Use your valuable money somewhere else.

Samosa was dripping oily. Had to press it against 10 or more paper towels to make it suitable for consumption. Came with 2 chutneys that had artificial food colors. Their paneer korma was very mediocre and the gravy should have been a little thicker. Their description said the gravy was made with almonds n stuff but couldnt quite taste it. Paneer tikka was decent. They give complimentary rice and naan. The rice had a nice aroma of ghee and the naan was well made. Overall a decent meal though not impressive enough for me to go back.

I had a Butter Chicken and it was the the worst Indian meal I have ever been faced with.My guess is it was a tomato soup with a few spices added. Simply rubbish. The chicken had none of the flavour of the sauce because it was not marinaded or even in there long enough to absorb any flavour; given how rubbish the sauce was, this may have been a good thing! That was a shockingly bad meal and, notwithstanding some other good reviews, I would definitely recommend going elsewhere (ie anywhere else!).

An open front restaurant which is the norm here but creates for a little warmth in the restaurant. Good service, seated immediately at 9.15pm on a Tuesday evening. Started with Chicken Pakora, very dry.. Chicken Tikka Masala was okay, a little over-cooked and therefore dry, heavy on the tomato soup base. Rice was good as was the keema nann. Worthy of a cab ride? I think not unless its the only place open and you are jonesing for something mildly spicy...

Good, for the price, indian. Service was OK, and prompt. The only disconnect was when I gave cash for the check, the waiter asked in a loud voice, "do you need change"? which is always a turn off....I said yes, and after that, got no change, and the helpful vibe was gone, and I could not catch my waiters eye. I complained as I left, and they claimed, again in a loud voice that I was misunderstood....they got my money, but not my return.

Bad food ! I am a frequent indian restaurant visitor. Thats the reason i know about neighbourhood indian restaurants. This used to be ok years back but not any more! Recently i had chance to dine here and i regretted myself. Food was old. I complained to waiter but he was insisting that it was fresh. How dare you lie to customer? There was a smell from chicken. Waste of my time and money. Never ever go there again! Arthur.

LOUD cheap music playing the whole time.. arrogant, rude staff refusing to accommodate any request.. theyd occupied one table next to us to tear some wrapping paper, doing it as loud as possible.. to be honest, the food isnt great either, would recommend avoiding Basera unless the apocalypse hits and this is the last place on earth where food is available.. regret wasting a meal in NYC at this place..

Great food- Service was not impressive - We was four people on the table and two finish the food and other two was still eating the food and wait staff was in hurry, look like there was an big event booked ahead. Wait staff didt care the people on table eating the food and took the food(rice and curry bowl) from table while two other people was still eating the food.

FRAUDS: we were two people went for dinner at late night 10:00PM, firstly the staff was quite rude(may be we were late arrival thats why) Then they said we close at 10:30, when we tried ordering few more things, while on there website the closing time was 11:00PM. 3rd: the bill arrived with 4 naans, ALTHOUGH we had ordered only 2. FOOD: Average SERVICE: very poor

I go there quite often because I live close by and food is always amazing and service is good. I do order just a few dishes every time I go, so not familiar with the whole menu, but what I have there is always good. The place is nice and not that crowded, never had to wait for a table (which I hate). Love the Bollywood video they have on the screen.
