Today I had a very heartless experience at Columbus dinner I have been a customer for many years even when the had the restaurant on the other side today I went to have breakfast with my mother my son who is 1 year old and my sister we waited 35 min for our food when we got it the order was wrong had to send a plate back and a cup that had a fly in the water also but that isnt the issue thats a normal thing that occurs I started feeding my son the soft potatoes and with in 2 min of receiving our food not even on a second cup of coffee yet my son started choking two servers and the cashier was close by and no one aid in my situation for about 30 long second I struggle with my son knocking his back finally he threw up and the food came out I didnt even get the wipe the vomite off my son and the server walked up and handed me my check not even a napkin towel or even ask if I need an ambulance service I was so traumatized by the situation I walked up to the cashier still with my son covered in vomate and show her all the food was still on the table and she still just charged me my sister helped cleaned up the mess off the floor with our own napkins and then a nice west indian man came ove to help mop and we left my son sat in the car not talking smiling or playing all the way home I could believe people could be so unsympathetic in a situation like that. After being a loyal customer an my regular server harry treated me the way he did.

Went with a group of family members during a busy Saturday afternoon. Waitress joined two tables together quickly and we were seated promptly. Service was polite and they were well staffed. Our group had 7 people and the waitress took all of our orders and returned shortly with beverages and the food followed within a reasonable amount of time considering all the tables were occupied. I ordered a Chicken Fajita with Salad. Food was good, however nothing amazing. Dont get me wrong, it was OK, but there was no seasoning on the chicken what so ever. Wouldnt hurt to throw a dash of Adobo or fajita seasoning... on a fajita, no? My mother-in-law did comment that her Roast-beef sandwich was delicious. Perhaps I am being nostalgic as I used to go to the old Columbus Diner across the street from when I was a kid through adulthood. The place had character from its lunch counter to the photos on the wall. The new Columbus Diner lacks some of that weathered charm and suffers from the same cookie-cutter architecture and bland motel decor that is just not memorable. On top of that, the food was not memorable. I usually will give a place two tries before writing them off, so I will likely go again and try something different to see if another dish fares better than the one I had.

I WAS going there for years. There is a particular waitress with a very nasty attitude who has been allowed to continue behaving in this way. I purposely did not tip her after one of these episodes of horrific attitude, and to top it off threw the menu on the table after I asked her a question. Went there again with another person and she refused to serve me. Another waitress decided to serve us after it was obvious she was going to continue with her horrific behavior. The craziest thing is that she walked passed my table and tried to stare me down. This is after she vented to the manager who kept looking back at our table. Will not go back there again until this garbage changes.

Once I came here I was very impressed. The food is awesome the prices are great and the waiters and waitresses are nice. Their Salads are so tasty they fill me up fast but I still go for their delicious lasagna and the cheesecake is superb . I think this is the best Diner around the between north bronx and mount vernon. When its time to pay the owner and his workers always ask was everything ok. I always say it was Awesome! Nancy the waitress is Sweet and very hardworking, and always smiles when she is serving you. I give Columbus Diner 5 stars all the way!!

As soon as I walked in with my family I was greeted very positively. Also we were seated rather quickly I could even say instantly. Our waitress was amazing she spoke two different languages in which our family both understood. But what made me so impressed was the level of freshness with our food. I mean you could look at it and tell it was so fresh and clean and tasty. But when I started to eat it I mean wow it took it to the next level of deliciousness for both I and my family ! From start to finish this diner was just past amazing !!!!!!!!!!

Its clean. Thats about it. I walk in and stand waiting by the register to be greeted by 2 people behind the counter, aaaaand nothing. After getting stared at for a minute, I say good morning and ask where I should sit. They point, I sat. I ordered corned beef hash and eggs over easy and ask that the hash be well done. It comes fresh out of a can and just warm. My eggs were ok. Waitress couldnt Crack a smile the whole time I was there. Probably wont be coming back.

This place got our shakes quick within the first minutes and it tasted delicious. Better than McDonalds shakes I instantly fell in love with it. The place is buetifull with lovely nice brick on the walls with comfortable seating. They even gave my brother extra milkshake because they made too much. The quality of the service was wonderful and the waiter was very kind.

I have to agree with Mr Mario Osullivan on the conduct of this particular waitress. I had an episode with her as well. Took it with a grain of salt. I stay away from her serving area. Good to see that management has noticed and has went as far as limiting her days there. Hopefully, she doesnt run off the regulars here. Very friendly atmosphere. Will continue to visit.

I have been coming to this diner for years. It is family owned and they have always been wonderful to my family. The breakfast is delicious. They have Virginia ham and grits if you prefer. And the short ribs of beef are sooo very tender. I do miss the old-fashioned comfort of the original location across the street, but I like the ambiance of this one.

Went to the diner at 11:25 even though it closes at 12. Ask a server if I could come it and she proceeded to shut the door in my face and say "no you cant come in past 11:30" even though it was not 11:30. I am very upset and will not be returning or recommending. I will also be telling all my friends so they can also review your establishment.

For it being mine and my husbands first time eating here it was really good. We ordered two deluxe Burger meals. They were pretty huge and they gave us more then enough fries we only spent 23$ which is pretty cheap. Only flaw is we kept running out of water and we would have to wave our waitress down for more refills every time.
