My wife and I got recently married. We are newlyweds, living in the busy city of New York, so one weekend we decided to get away from it all. My wife has relatives living in Monticello so what better place to go to than in the quite town of Monticello. Monticello is indeed beautiful. We had a great time with my wifes relatives and they were really happy to see us. The night falls and we find ourselves hungry. Besides lots of green grass, twisting roads and tall trees, I did not know that Monticello has one of the finest Italian Restaurants around. You guessed it, Albella Restaurant. As soon as we set foot inside the restaurant we were greeted with smiles. The staff is very welcoming. The restaurant itself has a very beautiful layout. It is well kept and chandeliers give the place a very unique look. To my hearts delight, Albellas Menu is very rich with sea food, among many other Italian Classic dishes. So, it was only natural for me to order Zuppa Di Pesce since I absolutely adore sea food. BOY oh BOY! Was I in for a treat! The dish was beautifully presented and the taste was so vivid I couldnt believe my senses. It was just mouthwatering. I know that portions are large but I was able to finish it all because it was just delicious. The owner noticed that we are not from the area and started conversing with us. What a good guy. He told us to try the homemade Tiramisu and so we did. Good recommendation. Both of us loved it. Next time we are back in Monticello, we are definitely going to go back. Still more sea food dishes to try! We loved it!

Ok starting out we had to ask to be seated no one was watching the restaurant/bar entrance. The meal is starting to look like a classic run away dont look back. From the 10 minutes , we even went up to get menus because none were given, seated with no one to get drinks or even say hi, straw wrapper in my drink and a questionable hair on the table, that I pray was my wifes. We decided to stick it out because of other positive reviews. ...about 15 minutes after ordering we got salads. It was fresh tomato perfect. Wait 35 more minutes I wanna leave in the worse way, but over ranked by the wife we wait for our entrees. Not sure if its a shortage of staff or incompetence. ...the wait is insane. I see many pizzas going out the door, if only I ordered pizza, it will be impossible for the pasta to be worth this wait. 1 hour and 15 minutes after walking in the first entree is here 2 min later the second. Ok wife never got her pasta. My meal was average at best. Hers was incomplete. ....1 star is way to high. Manager came to apologize and offer free dessert. ... 2 hours and 10 minutes we leave to never come back. Next morning is here and my wife is sick...good luck.

Excellent experience every time. Dont pay attention to the one or two bad reviews. They are the type of people who thrive on negativity. One of the people who left feed admitted she had a Great Experience AND great food then went back and ordered food again another day and took it to go but wasnt as satisfied. Im no rocket scientist but fresh out of the oven will always be better than eating that same meal after its packaged and you drive around running errands with your food in the car. I also looked to see where her first Positive experience rating was but of course its not there because she is a negative nancy. Only has something to say when its negative. This family puts a lot of pride into their restaraunt and food. Im sure if she would of called and explained she wasnt happy with this order , the owner would of bent over backwards to make sure she ended up happy. Hopefully she feels better now that she left a nasty review. I would love to taste her cooking and put a review up about it! Ask around. This place has s great reputation and even greater food and service. You will Not be disappointed !

Food was delicious. Service wasnt. Party of 6, took over 30 minutes from walking in the door, and we had reservations and were seated right about on time, to get bread, take our drink order and because we already waited so long we ordered our meal at that time to save time. Ten minutes went by and then we got out soft drinks, water, and lemonade. No alcohol. Our orders werent complicated but there were six of us so we expected a.luttle wait. Had to request bread for the table and it took a while, though it was very hot and flavorful when it arrived. All told it was 2hours or so from arrival to departure, and maybe a little longer. The place was also not at capacity, had typical two and four place tables with a few five and six person tables. Three waitresses for what looked to be 50 or more patrons. Too few, too much, you decide, but it wasnt quality for us. Caveat Emptor. Food, good. But I couldnt say "worth the wait". Just good enough to not have us get up and leave.

Overall a great experience. First place that I have been to where their is more meat or seafood (its fresh too) than the pasta. Most place you get an overload of pasta and very little of the main entree highlight. The portions are big; enough to bring home leftovers . I was actually impressed by the amount of fresh seafood you get for a reasonable price. The staff are all very kind. Anytime I have had to wait a little extra time I am alright because I know my meal is coming out hot and fresh! There have been moments Im in a hurry and they have been accommodating to that.

The first time I ever went I had an amazing experience. My best friend and I ordered baked ziti and the bread that came with it was incredible. However, today my boyfriend and I bought some to bring home today and it did not satisfy any of our taste buds and the total came out to be unexpectedly high something they didnt mention on the phone. I say when in doubt enjoy the whole restaurant experience, but it will be the last time I go. Sorry to say one bad experience can just kill my whole vibe.

What isnt there to like about Albellas? They have hands down the best Italian food in SC. Their chicken franchese is out of this world good. The food always taste fresh, and is handled by incredible staff. The waitress there are very personable and foster a family atmosphere. When I eat there I feel at home. Albellas is awesome. They also have an excellent bar, and great drinks. The owner and his wife are welcoming and kind people. I would eat there every night if I could.

Best Italian restaurant in Sullivan County!!!! Amazing food, outstanding service.Great specials for any occasions.Dinner menu from pasta and chicken to seafood and steaks. Last week i went to have lunch with my friend and was surprise with the amount of food we got for around 8 bucks. BEST grilled chicken salad! Will definitely go back .
