Service is usually somewhat slow here, which is occasionally okay, but we are in NYC after all and diners arent known for their "fine" dining experience but rather for serving you decent food fast. So theres my first complaint. After the waitress finally approached my table to take my order, I asked if they served eggs by themselves and how much it would be. She said, "It would be $3.75 for two eggs on a plate." I said, "Okay so if I added that to the side of corned beef hash listed here it comes to $8.70, but I also noticed you have an option for two eggs and corned beef hash listed for $9.95, how come?" But then I answered my own question because I realized that all the "egg options" come with hash browns and toast -- which I didnt want. So I said, "Okay, Id like to get two eggs on a plate with a side of corned beef hash, but could you put them on one plate instead of bringing them out on two small plates?" And she says, "No. I cant do that. Id have to charge you $9.95 for that." My jaw dropped. I said, "But I dont want the hash browns and toast that come with that option." And she still said no. Lol! And then I said, "But you just told me you could sell me two eggs for $3.75 and Id like to get the side of corned beef hash thats listed on the menu for $4.95. Why cant I do that?" This seemed hard for her to comprehend, but she said shed have to go talk to the manager. And off she went. I watched them discussing this for about 5 mins, looking at the menu, probably adding things up, who knows. I couldnt believe how long they were making me wait -- to find out if I could purchase something ON their menu on one plate! I mean, if thats hard or unpleasant or expensive for you to do for some reason then fine. Just tell me youve gotta bring me the two sides on two separate plates, but after making me wait, telling me no, and then having to talk it over with the manager for 5 mins, its too much for me. I didnt have time to wait for this ridiculous verdict. I was hungry! I came in to order food and give you my money. Why did it have to be so hard? Asinine. I happily went across the street to IHOP and gave them my money instead. This kind of stuff is "owning a diner 101"

Yesterday me and my boyfriend went to eat at Jax Inn diner in Jackson Heights for the first time and HAD THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! The food was pretty bad, I had a burger, tasted exactly like McDonalds burger, but at least we could talk; until the crazy couple with the kid came in!!! The kid was loud, screaming, jumping on his seat non-stop, it was very very annoying, and looked like the parents cannot control him at all. We wanted to leave right away, but finally some woman asked him to calm down, and the mother and the father started screaming like crazy!! at that woman. 10 minutes non-stop screaming!! This couple acted like insane!! I wanted to call the police so they can take this crazy couple out . I feel very sorry for the woman that wanted some quiet time in the diner and was actually asking for all of us. but the worst part was that the manager did not do anything to calm the crazy couple, instead he gave the kid a candy !!! THANK YOU FOR SCREAMING AND BEING SO ANNOYING, KID! HAVE A CANDY! Unbelievable. Looks like this diner is a new McDonalds - for screaming kids and with the bad burgers!! My advice - If you respect yourself, want to have a good meal and quiet time, DO NOT EVER, UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES GO TO THIS JAX INN diner!!! you will waste you time, money, and nerves, and will leave stressed and hungry. Just the way we did. The worst experience ever!!!

Good food with faulty management. DO yourself a favor. Stay away and avoid the aggravation. It appears its customary at this diner to bring entrees out separately and when the entree finally arrives its the wrong entree, and then when the "corrected" entree finally arrives they still screw it up once again. When we ask for a complimentary $.25 CENTS tea as a result of there screw up, the waiter has the audacity to gossip to the manager within hearing range of the customer. When I interrupt their conversation and address my discontent of HORRIBLE customer service the manager who states he has "25 years of restaurant experience" says what Ive experienced is "not bad customer service." When the kitchen gets the order wrong not once but twice, the waiter fails to confirm she has the correct order before serving it, and then gossips about the customer for everyone to hear, then what kind of service is it????? Judge for yourself. When its time to pay I address the OWNER whos standing by the register, instead of apologizing hes brave enough to tell me to make the best of it! Very encouraging! He should be paying attention to the manner in which the establishment is being run and the level of service customers are receiving instead of paying attention to how much money is being put into the register. Ill take my business elsewhere next time!

This was my first time coming to this diner. To me the food was good . I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad with pita bread on the side. It tasted good but the dressing to me needed a little lemon. Overall, Id recommend this diner to people from another area. Their prices was pretty reasonable and serving size was huge. One of the main things I observe when visiting a diner is the cleanliness of the establishment and it was clean ...wink,wink! The staff is very professional and nice to the people giving the customers an open door to return again on an empty stomach.Their cake selection in the case was so pretty and fresh. The atmosphere was clean whereas you can breath not feeling stuffy. Wow , I really didnt expect this , Id like to come here again. This was a great experience.j

I hated it. Have been here a few times and its always the same.. Went with my husband and niece tonight.. All of the food was bland! I had chicken Alfredo and it the pasta was undercooked And my chicken was rubbery didnt have any flavor. Mind u it was 18 dollars for a bland pasta dish! Dont get me wrong I dont mind paying extra for good food. My husbands fried chicken also had no flavor.. Its so sad because we love diner food but and its so close by and convenient. Too bad the food sucks! On a separate occasion iv had desserts and there good.

This is a great location to dine in with your family. Other reviews treat this like it is a restaurant, well it is not. This is a family diner, you should expect kids acting like kids. The food was pretty good when you order diner food and not food that has nothing to with breakfast. Therefore, those who order a pasta at a diner, well what do you expect. My meal : the lumber jack Price: fair across all diners . 10.98 Pancake fluffiness: 2/5 Taste: 2/5 Staff: very friendly Overall price: $$ (fair across all diners)

Soo its my wifes birthday, she wanted ihop across the street. We get there and its packed, loud, and so tiny that we might as well share a table with everyone else. We decided to leave after waiting 20 mins for a table. We came here and its warm and cozy, the staff is nice and friendly, AND THE FOOD! TASTE AMAZING, GOOD PORTIONS, AND GREAT PRICES. Well end up spending less for more. We live in the bronx, and this has officially become our favorite diner.
