This is a hidden gem in Forest Hills. One plus is that it has a huge complimentary parking lot. The food is consistently good. There is a huge selection of items to choose from. The lunch menu is a complete meal. The luncheon includes choice of soup, salad, choice of several entrees, choice of a few desserts, and a non alcoholic beverage. The food is very good. They have some unique selections: like gefilte fish and chopped liver, among other items, Breakfast was really good here. I had the challah French toast. Delicious. I had it with blueberries and syrup and powdered sugar. Coffee is great. Strong and hot. Our waitress was super sweet. Very nice lady and very friendly. Prices are moderate.

Very unhelpful and unfriendly staff and owner. Nasty and RUDE- my small child forgot his DSI on the table along with my glasses- we went back as soon as we realized (5 minutes) and of coarse no one saw the DSI- the glasses were there though- so when I asked the owner to check with his staff if anyone saw it or found it he was rude and nasty and not even apologetic. I called later on to see if it "turned up" and he was obnoxious and offensive on the phone.

This is an old school classic American diner. They serve up diner food so what do you expect out of it ? stick to what you know when it comes to ordering diner food and you wont be upset. Service is friendly and quick. Fun fact: sit in the booth where they filmed wolf of Wall Street so you can pretend like youre Leonardo dicaprio and Jonah hill.

Shalimar Diner is one of my favorite diners in Rego Park, my favorite thing to get from the diner is the Bacon Cheeseburger with Fries. The service is awesome, best restaurant. I really like going with my parents and my sister. I take them out for breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Shalimar Diner. Its really not that far from my house either.

Worst meal of my life. Three of us went to eat there, ordered chicken which was chewy and just tough to eat. Barely ate quarter of the meal as it was so bland and just not good. All of us felt sick to our stomach after. Portions were big and service too but tasted bad. Stay away.

If I could only express what I went through, but here is what I have to say... If you like pubic hair in your plate this is the place to go. This was shocking what I saw in mine. People just save your time and money ...Do not go!!! :-(

Be aware. This business has sneaky and dishonest practices when billing. Check carefully the prices in the menu and make sure before ordering. The waitstaff doesnt know how to treat a customer. Once they overcharged me for a drink.

Very good food and very large portions. Enough for 2 dinners. Plus everything is included soup or salad, entrée and sides and desert. Not to mention the pickles, bread, and beet salad which they give you when you sit down.

The waitress was very sweet and the atmosphere is friendly, but lI received the polar opposite of what I ordered. It happens. I thought that the price was a bit high for what I ordered, but breakfast was decent.

The food was bland, even the bacon. And the owner was being rude to an employee who locked her keys in her car during a snow storm. It wasnt a horrible experience but it wasnt great either.
