I recently went here for my first taste of Indian food. The location was very convenient, although I could imagine that if I wasnt within walking distance, I would complain about the hardship of parking in this area. The menu had a large variety of choices, which was wonderful, and the staff was willing to explain the items to me, as I was unfamiliar with things. I loved the fact that they placed a large bowl of rice on the table for everyone to share, that was a nice touch. I have not a single complaint about the food, everything was wonderful! They do need to hire some more staff though. It was a Saturday night and I only saw a total of 5 wait staff. We were seated right away, but it was 15 minutes before our drink order was taken and it took about 25 minutes to take the check from us and have our left overs wrapped. All in all though, I would definitely go back and try the rest of their menu out!

The good: The decor is nice without being overbearing, the music is also not too loud. location is nice near a municipal parking lot. The food portions are not large but are not terribly small where you are still hungry. They also dont come every two minutes to ask you if you neex anything which quickly gets annoying. The bad: I feel the food was slightly overpriced and should be a couple of dollars cheaper per entree. Also, when asking the staff to take some things to go we were promptly given a white takeaway box for selfserve. Small things like this take away from the overall experience and from a 5 star review. Verdict: good with room for improvement.

Tandoori chicken here is something of a dream. There has not been another Indian restaurant that Ive been too that executes on flavor, texture, and presentation as this place. The other items Ive tried are very tasty. The place is usually empty, but dont let that ward you off. The 5-6 times Ive been there there have been floods of people taking food to go. I guess thats just the thing with the crowd in the area. Food is always a hit and the traditional Indian beer is always a treat. If youre in the area go for the tandoori chicken and the chicken tikka masala. Sure to hit the spot with Indian food lovers.

I would def go back to this restaurant. The food is delicious, and the wait staff excellent. We ordered chicken pakora appetizer, which was good w the sauce they put on the table. The complimentary papadam is superb, the best Ive ever had, very thin and delicate. I was not crazy about the sauce served w my chicken tandoori (malai--had a roasted onion sweet flavor)), but since it came on the side I just dipped into my husbands vindaloo, which was delicious. Place is very busy.

The food was entirely way too spicy and I like spicy food. The vegetable dishes were delicious although too spicy. My biggest disappointment was the lamb vindaloo. The lamb was dry and tough, ruined the whole meal. I would try again and ask for the food to be milder and not get lamb and hope the other meats would be better

I went to house of india few times in past months, this is besttttt indian restaurant I ever being to I have indian food all over the country & in europe, but food here is out standing and service is great. I especially come to huntington from east hampton just for this.

The food is fantastic. I usually enjoy Spice Village but I prefer House of India. The chicken is a bit dry but overall great. If you do chose to dine here, I highly recommend the the chicken curry with nan. Eat the curry with the nan for the best results.

Food was very good and delicious. The naan here is the best Ive had in any Indian restaurants and as an Indian I eat a lot of Indian food. Main dishes were a bit small for the price but was made up for with taste. Will be back.

Consistently good food and theyre not afraid to make it spicy when you ask for it! Food is what you expect in a traditional, family-run Indian restaurant, and very well done. One of the better meals available in Huntington.

The food was tasty, although the chicken was overcooked. The staff was miserable and made for an unpleasant experience. I wont go back. I will recommend to NOT go there.
