My father picked this place out when my mother came to visit, he made sure to get reservations as he says they are often necessary to have a table ready inside the restaurant; while its almost never crowded outside. Everything looked immaculate inside the place, and we were seated straight away. While perusing the menu water was brought to us, and our waitress took our drink orders. The drinks came, and we were ready to order. I had a caesar salad and a black angus burger. The salad was crisp and had the right amount of dressing, and the burger was cooked just as I asked and came with plenty to top it with. Afterwards my father ordered a slice carrot cake as they make it in house, but I was pretty full up by then so I passed. The bathroom was very clean, but didnt smell like any cleaning products. Though the single sink made it a bit awkward when you are the one using it, and theres someone standing behind you waiting to use it too. Overall, this was an excellent place to dine for an occasion. I could definitely see myself coming back again.

This restaurant sucks. The best part of our meal was the bottle of wine. The service was terrible and the food was worse. I ordered the soup of the day which was chicken corn chowder with shrimp. The soup base had no flavor, the chicken was pressed white meat that was grilled, the shrimp was frozen and tasted like dirt and the corn was frozen from a bag. The dinner I ordered was fish fry which was bland. Its hard to give Panko bread crumbs flavor. They would do better if they battered it. My husbands meal was eggplant which was served with a side of pasta. The biggest reststaurant faux pas was here when they served a bowl of pasta with marinara sauce on top. Didnt even bother to toss the pasta with the with the sauce. Would never go here again.

With the help of Rit (the expert coordinator) I planned my parents 50th wedding anniversary party here. Rit was not just helpful but went above and beyond. His attention to detail and excellent suggestions made the difference between a nice gathering and the fantastic evening it was. The seafood Newburgh, in particular, was rich and flavorful, with the seafood cooked perfectly. Guests raved about the chicken Parm, and the top round (which is often overcooked at events like these at other venues) was moist and tender. Their bruschetta is the best Ive ever had. Wait staff and barkeep were friendly and helpful (Riley, Karen and others!). I really cant say enough about this venue and its expert staff!

The Waters Edge Lighthouse is a beautiful restaurant in Glenville, NY on the Mohawk River. The dining room has windows that look out on the river, and is suitable for any special occasion. There is a new covered area on the outside patio that will make outdoor dining a real pleasure. The menu offers a nice variety of dishes- I had the Tuscan Shrimp-absolutely delicious! The server was very friendly and the food came out fairly quickly for a very busy Saturday night. Always call ahead for reservations, or you will not get seated unless there is room at the bar. The owner tours the room and makes sure that everything is satisfactory. I highly recommend the Lighthouse.

Service was extremely slow and it was not busy so there was no reason to wait 20 minutes to be serviced and then another 45 to get the appetizer. We barely saw our waitress the whole night. Price for drinks was crazy - $2.50 for a soda with no refills. The only thing decent about the place was the food but again the pricing was bad. The atmosphere was nice but when we asked to be seated by the window instead of the cold entrance we were told it was reserved (nobody came the whole time and there was plenty of other seating available) needless to say we will not be returning especially after being told to sign and grat the receipt, which she did not deserve.

My family and I had a reservation for 530 and we sat outside. We ordered drinks and waited and waited and waited... Finally those came maybe 20 minutes later... Then we ordered entrees and waited and waited and waited... We didnt get our food til 730...there was 6 of us in the group and nobody ordered anything super special... Chicken parms were burnt on the top, my daughters chicken nuggets were burnt, and another pasta dish was cold... When the owner came over my wife explained the situation to him at which point be said what can I do but then didnt offer to do anything... Needless to say we will not be going back...

Long wait when we made a reservation, long wait for appetizers, although the appetizers were good! Then it was over two hours before our main course came out and a lot of the food was burned. I had to leave before my food came out. That being said, the waitress did her best and comped what needed to be comped. But the chef and kitchen staff is the obvious problem burning many meals. Although the wait staff could be better at being out there ready for their tables needs. The atmosphere is also loud and there are too many tables in a small space. The manager tried their best though. This was on a Wednesday.

I went into the restaraunt having high expectations judging by the view of the river and the cool building. Service was quick, although the food wasnt so good. I took a bite of my hamburger, it was good, but then I took a bite of my friends taco shell from her taco salad, and it tasted like it had been there for months in the freezer. I tried some fish, the fish was bland, you couldnt taste it. The bill was ridiculous too. $59! They charged us for refills, and four buckd for iced tea. In conclusion, this restaraunt has not the best food, not the best pricing, but acceptable service.

I used to be buser at The Lighthouse and it was great the first couple of days. Then behind the scenes was gross. It was purely discussing everything is thrown together. The dishes sometimes dont get cleaned all the way, and are still put out so customers can eat off of them. The tables are cleaned with water and a touch of cleaning solution, and nothing is sanitized. The waitstaff makes fun of the customers behind there back and even spit in the food on occasion. I used to enjoy going to the light house but then i found this out. I will never go back again. Hope this helps.

Here from Florida, wanting to enjoy a nice lunch on the water. Asked hostess for a different table, she declined me rudely leaving me at a table with no wind on this hot day. Our server was nice enough but very slow (seems to have too many tables at a time) and each time we needed her attention or a drink we waited 10+ minutes. Our food was 30+ mins for simple entrees. Dessert was at the table for 5 minutes without silverware. I ate with a knife. Beautiful spot on the water too bad the hospitality wasnt all there.

I was really looking forward to this meal as this place had been referred to us. The thing that really threw me was that they use frozen mixed vegetables for the meals. Really, frozen vegetables. We were there in summer so its not like fresh veggies werent available. I had steak and lobster and was very disappointed in the lack of flavor of both the lobster and the steak. And I really cant get over they use frozen mixed vegetable. Geesh! And it was expensive.
