The last few experiences I have had with this cafe have been pleasant so Im giving it a 3/5 but I have to say, its a hit or miss with the staff, particularly the younger ones. I was waiting in line and the younger male cashier who was wearing a beanie and Hispanic completely bypassed me and addressed the older gentleman behind me . Im not sure if he was doing this deliberately or because Im a female who looks young and somehow needs to be accompanied by an older male behind me . I was slightly ticked off . Then he forgot to ask me what I wanted for my base for the smoothie, how can you be a cashier if youre not knowledgeable about the menu or what to ask customers , I had to go up myself and tell the guy who was making it . Then the vegan cheese incident . I am vegan and dont like cheese of any kind so I had no idea this place replaces cheese with Vegan cheese . Ill admit I was disgusted and when I went up to explain my grievances to the person in charge they said it was Vegan cheese lol but I dont like cheese of any kind and instead of being respectful , the three boys behind the counter acted defensive and a little like bullies . Only the African American one offered to help me and make another sandwich . I regret even ordering this . Not worth the 8 bucks and the staff def need to learn to be more courteous to their customers. Im not sure if this person was sexist or just having an off day but it was uncalled for and they need to be more professional about it and more mature. . I love this cafe regardless but now I know to be wary of certain staff .

Tasty, healthy, vegan and small cafe. The menu is not large but neither is the establishment. But what you can get is fresh, is consistently delicious and reasonably priced considering it is on the main street in Forest Hills and conveniently located. Dont expect $5 footlongs here as youll be paying double in exchange for organic vegan healthy food. Even so, I love this place and is easily two steps above pure fast food. There is a 2 hour WiFi provision, which is more than reasonable. There are only about a dozen or so tables, roughly 10 small 2-3 seaters in the back and about 4 in the front. On weekends they have live music usually provided by a guitar player and singer, which is excellent and adds to the calm, relaxed mood. This is not an ambiance place, mostly very basic in appearance, feeling a bit like an old empty bookstore and fine for any casual date or engagement. The staff was always nice to me and find you often get based upon the disposition you present. It is a very small counter and preparation area. This is New York City like in its efficiency.

Nope nope!! Just left this establishment and it was a very weird feeling, looks as if the workers did not want to be there at all. I dont drink coffee so I came in there for the vegan/vegetarian food and unfortunately this did not go so well. I ordered a salad and the Apples turned out rotten, you know that mushy non-firm texture with oxidation, yeah that! I wanted to substitute the Balsamic dressing for a lemon avocado dressing and they gave me avocado/lemon oil, straight oil! Not Lemon/ avocado dressing I went back into the establishment and explained my situation and the male who pre-pared my food seem to have an attitude, almost giving off that implication that I dont know what Im talking about when I said lemon avocado DRESSING!! Thank god the cashier lady knew what I was talking about and went behind the counter and tried to whip up a quick homemade style avocado dressing so there was some light to the situation and I thank her for that. In conclusion will not be returning to this location and I will not be recommending.

Finally a legit looking coffee place that isnt starbucks or dunkin donuts. The staff members are really friendly and always greet me, as I was their first cups customer and I always make them punch in their code on my phone hah. Im sorry, but the drinks are really overpriced though. Good thing I have the cups app that makes me turn a $5 large (not really that large) to a $3.. how its supposed to be priced. The dining area is really warm and cozy with the auburn tones from the walls and furniture. Its almost like entering into someones really old fashioned home and taking a breather. Sometimes the capps are burnt and taste super harsh on my tastebuds.. Its really a hit or miss with this place, but Ill give a 4 because theyre friendly and are the only real ones in the area.

I so badly want to love this local coffee shop, but Ive observed consistently rude customer service each of the few times Ive gone. Pair that with the higher prices, credit card fees, and coffee that has an acidic/metalic quality to the flavor... Ill stick to the big chain around the corner. My most recent visit, the cashier alternated between sitting on the floor playing on her phone and rolling her eyes at customers who were outrageous enough to ask questions about the menu or if the music could be lowered. Pros: large seating area and up to 2 hours of WiFi with menu purchase. The vibe is nice, though a bit pretentious hipster. (Think over priced student art, early 90s music playing to be ironic, and multiple avacado toast options).

Service is hit or miss. I have had yummy drinks, while other times, I have had an unripe banana in my oatmeal... really gross. Also I have had lukewarm not hot drinks, rotten eggs... yeah... Recently, the system was down and the waiter struggled to give back change. I felt terrible that a manager was not there to help him. Also, he was clueless about the price and overcharged me and others. To top it all, i had planned to get some work done, and after waiting for such a long time, dealing with the unassisted waiter, the wifi was not working. The service and quality can be better. Food is overpriced and they do not even make the stuff on the premises. It has an organic brand, I wonder, however why the quality is not the greatest?

Hands down the best organic eats in town! Rene, the owner, made my friend and I feel at home when we visited our first time. He offered us complimentary desserts with the sandwiches and soups we ordered. The prices are great and the atmosphere is very cozy. You can get lost in your school work enjoying a great latte macchiato. This cafe is just as fun as it is productive. Rene told us about the open poetry and open music nights, we will definitely be attending one soon! Any cafe/coffee shop owner should stop by to take some notes on how to be a successful small business owner like Rene.

Forest Hills/Rego Park/Kew Gardens is in dire need of more places like this. A funky and quaint atmosphere with a conscious menu is tops in my book. Sometimes it seems there is too much going on with the musical acts and random artwork crammed into a tight space but it remains on my my fav places to get some work done and grab some tea and a vegan muffin. Oh and it would be great if they ordered an adequate amount of food due to the weekend rush. It seems there is never enough pastries.
