You can save 10% by ordering things by the case from customer service. The image of this place says "overpriced" but that is not the case for many items. Hannaford and PC are right nearby, so if you are willing to do your shopping at two stores and know the sales, Healthy Living can actually save you money. The frozen pizza I like is $2 less here than Hannaford. The bottled teas I like are $1.59 (goes on sale for $1.29) at HL, $1.79 at Hannaford. Their pizza dough is a dollar cheaper than Hannafords, and is way better with better ingredients. When things at HL are on sale, they are significantly cheaper than the other stores. They are even cheaper than Amazon, which is where Id normally order harder to find organic items or vitamins. The key is to stock up on the super cheap sale items, as they may not go on sale for another six months or more. And like I said, you can order by the case at customer service. This store has an extensive bulk section of every staple, spice, tea, etc you can think of. And most of it is organic and priced very low. They even have bulk maple syrup (you can bring your own container or use theirs), honey, olive oil, peanut butter, and other "wet" bulk. The dry bulk has every type of baking need as well as a lot of snack items. If you are frugal like me and enjoy comparison shopping, you are going to come out ahead by visiting this store. Plus, you are supporting a small business. They only have one other store, in VT. There are many great local products available here as well.

Overall, its okay, some things are very good. However the biggest drawback is that they need to improve their customer service by better training the younger staff. The bakery is great; however getting someone to wait on you at the counter can be a challenge. The people in the back baking saw me but never asked if I needed help; apparently it isnt their job to help at the bakery counter or let someone else know a customer is waiting. Also got grossed out when an employee came from behind the coffee/juicing counter and helped himself to some olives with his bare hands from the olive bar. I have noticed a decline in the quality of their lattes which I no longer buy; again this could be new staff not knowing how to make them properly. Why even 3 stars? Because they have bargains if you look for them and products not found in other places. The staff is very polite. They just to be trained that their primary focus is helping customers so they buy their products; baking and filling shelves should take a back seat to customer service.

I do part of my shopping every week at the Healthy Living Cafe. We are not vegetarians, nor do we only eat organic food. Since we can no longer eat as much as we want, we are more conscious of the taste of what we eat. On my first visit I had a latte and gawked at the merchandise--both its variety and its price. The latte was excellent. On my next visit I bought another latte and tried the fresh honey-roasted peanut butter. On my third visit I brought some bakery goods and attended a cooking demonstration. I was hooked. Now I routinely shop at the Healthy Living Market for non-staple items. Their food does taste better than ordinary grocery store and is worth a higher price. By the way, that honey-roasted peanut butter should be labeled "addictive".

Fantastic lattes and cappuccinos! Great selection of food and drink for the health conscious. I am taking off a star because the customer service desk is awful. They reek of weed, completely stoned and never want to help you. I guess if I was completely stoned, I wouldnt either! I would understand if they were young kids, but these people are around 30 years of age. The butcher department is fantastic as well and plenty of organic everything. Favorite bread from all over Saratoga Springs County is there as well.

Like Whole Foods, but with locally sourced meats, dairy and produce that reflect an intense relationship with the community. Yes, its pricey but with some real bargains lurking. Try the grind-your-own honey roasted peanut butter (in the bulk aisle) and do not fail to browse the bin of cheese samples at the end of the freezer aisle. All the butchers, bakers, cheesemongers are very proud of their work and will be happy to listen to your comments and try to accommodate your requests.

I ordered a sandwich in the deli, and told the staff I was deathly allergic to tree nuts, and made to sure to ask that my sandwich did not have the pesto in it, which has tree nuts in it. I ate some of the sandwich, and it DID have pesto in it. I was very lucky that I did not have a serious allergic reaction, since the swelling was only in my mouth (it must not had been ingested). I am sad that I cant count on this store to meet my food allergies.

I feel the same way as Mary from Saratoga her review is right on. The people behind the deli counter leave a lot to be desired. There is one particular gross and grubby male whos behind the counter and seems to be stuffing his face all the time no matter what time Im shopping at the store. I find most of the items costly but there are some that I cant do w/o and I pay the price. Otherwise everything is ok. Thank You

When I went in this store I was blown away. The prices are out of control - the prices are making the people that work there have to apologize. It is a major rip off totally over priced . No doubt feeding off Saratoga snobby market crowd - go to the market in any other area and you will find the same quality for much less I give this store a 2 because the quality is there but be fair about the prices.

We need more places like this! So many people out there with food sensitivities. I went there today clueless and the staff was so helpful. I went to customer service and explained it was my first time there and that i had a gluten issue and they introduced me to staff in each department. They all explained to me what was gluten free in each area. Great experience! I will be back.

This place is amazing. Organic, vegan, anything you want. Large selection of food and health/hygiene products. Found stuff there I couldnt find anywhere else. Foods are fresh and the prices seemed better than Whole Foods.

I visited their liquor store to place an order for a bottle of Rogue gin. Even though I stood there and told the clerk exactly what I wanted and showed her a picture of it, they ordered the wrong bottle.
