I was really excited to try this place. This past sunday my boyfriend and I wanted to try something new. We have seen their instagram account and food looked great. Unfortunately we had a very poor experience and cancelled our lunch order after the first appetizer. We arrived to be half greeted by the Hostess. I politely asked her "how are you?," and her response was "hot and bothered to be honest." She sat us, and our waitress eventually came over and took my boyfriends drink order. She didnt come back for a while... and in that time two of the tables around us were complaining. One table waited over an hour for their meals, and when they said something the bus-girl came out with both their meals and appetizer (soup). The other table was a girl commenting on her salmon sandwhich was cold and "just a piece of salmon on a roll with a piece of wilted lettuce." When our waitress came back we ordered the crab cakes and 1/2 dozen oysters. I put in a drink order. I watched our waitress (who was lovely) tell the bartender my drink order ( outdoor bar). We then sat there for 15 MORE minutes waiting for our appetizer and drink. A busgirl brought out the crab cakes (no drink still). They were completely burnt on the bottom. At this point we were so hungry we ate them. The busgirl then brought out the oysters. FULL of sand. Still no drink, and no waitress coming back asking for our lunch order. Finally when our waitress came back she had my drink. While waiting another table next to us had a steak salad, ordered medium rare-- and sent it back because it was WELL like shoe leather. Upon receiving my drink I kindly told the waitress we couldnt eat the oysters and didnt want the drink anymore. We cancelled our two salad orders. How can i assume this food is going to be good when THREE tables around me had issues, and two appetizers we ordered already had issues? We paid for the crab cakes and left. What a missed opportunity for this place. Great location, but poor food and very poor service.

Never again! We love outdoor seafood restaurants, we happened to be in East Islip and wanted some delicious lunch. Our sever was nice, and our drinks were good, but that was about it. We ordered the oysters to start.....that was a bad choice...they must have shucked them that morning( we had lunch around 2pm) they were dry and sticking to the shell with a yellowing border, requested the calamari instead....it was a bit bland. We ordered the lobster roll and the crab cake sandwich, needless to say we were a bit cautious of our food. The lobster roll is definitely not worth the $28.99 as it barely filled the croissant. The fries were soggy. Over all it surprises me that a seafood restaurant will not prepare everything to order. Will not go back, that was the worst $100 lunch weve ever had.

This place is spectacular. I was looking for a casual waterfront restaurant for my birthday,stumbled across Bayside, and decided to give it a try. The food was 10x better than I had anticipated and very reasonably priced. We ordered the oysters, conch fritters, BBQ bacon scallops, bass, fish & chips, and the soft shell crab BLT. Despite the cafe appearance, the plastic plates, cups & service-ware, the food was 4 star restaurant quality. A+ spot for great casual food, with a fantastic view and live music.

Terrible service, it took about 30 minutes just to get our apps, the waitress disappeared for our drink order and lunch order. When we finally got the apps, the raw oysters had so much sand in them the were inedible. We opted to cancel our lunch order since we were hearing some rumblings from other tables about how there order was not correct and it was taking over an hour to get their food. Its a shame, a place with so much potential and a great location is allowing these things to happen.

Went last night for 1st time.Waitress was wonderful but kitchen was awfully slow.Took for ever to get our food.Were given free drinks and 20% off bill but would rather just have not waited an hour for our food.Food was good but nothing special. With so many other similar type restaurants in the area most likely will never return.

Excellent location and atmosphere. Food was great and it is on the higher end of the price scale. I had the Scallops Dinner with the Jambalaya Bites appetizer and both were wonderful. They also have some local craft beers on tap. Even if it is outside my per diem, I will be back to try more items on the menu. Highly recommend.

Food was terrible for the price. Oyster po boi was fishy and fries were cold. Waitress replaced fries but did nothing about fishy sandwich. My friend had shrimp over risotto which was very starchy and lumped together. More of a bar for drinks than a restaurant. View was beautiful that gets the star.

Wait staff is awful 2nd time there didnt get service for a half hour got up and left with my family and went to ocanee diner instead this place is a rip off top dollar for terrible service.if i could give it zero start i would they suck
