Shandon Court is a consistently awesome restaurant with a delicious menu, amazing staff and quality libations. Whether you want to just grab something at the bar off their bar menu or have a nice sit down cloth napkin dinner in their warmly decorated dinning room, Shandon Court fits the bill. While Shandon Court is an excellent Restaurant year round, Im going to focus this review on my experience during Restaurant Week. Shandon Court always has a great restaurant week menu. It highlights some of their regular menu items as well as throwing in a little something extra. The menu offers gluten free and vegetarian option and a wine paring for a very reasonable additional price. You begin your meal with the best bread plate ever. They serve you bread, Irish soda bread, their own humus and deliciously infused dipping oil. The highlights of the bread plate are the humus (which I suspect has a yummy dollop of sour cream in it) and the Irish Soda Bread. For the appetizer, I chose the Spiced Carrot Fritters served with a cucumber/chive sour cream on a bed of baby spinach. I was careful to have a little of each item in every bite which proved to be the best possible course of action. This was a surprisingly well-engineered appetizer; the carrot fritters were perfectly prepared and had an amazing texture with out having an overwhelming carrot flavor. I hope they add this to their regular menu or even bar menu because I would order these again. This was paired with a Pinot Grigio, which accompanied the dish very well. I selected the Char-Grilled Sirloin Steak for my entree. There was a 1$ up charge for the steak however when a girl needs a steak, a girl needs a steak. The steak was cooked to my request (rare) and was paired with a wonderful demi-glaze, mashed potatoes, carrot puree and grilled zucchini. This was a well-rounded meal. Each item was perfectly cooked and tasty on an individual basis however combining the flavors took the plate to the next level of yummy. I suggest pouring the side of demi-glaze right into your mashed potatoes and taking a bite of steak and potatoes together. Also, eating the carrot puree and zucchini together proved to be an excellent flavor combination. This course was paired with a Pinot Noir that worked very well with the steak. The meal came to a sweet closing with the Brandy Snap basket with the House-Made Ice Creams. This dessert should really be called “Super Terrific Awesome House-Made Ice Cream in a Brandy Snap Basket”. I’m not a dessert person. I’m not a cake fan. I could take or leave pies but I LOVE me some ice cream. I’m a bit of an ice cream snob, I hardly ever purchase “store” ice cream unless it’s organic (or Ben & Jerry’s cause really who doesn’t need a little Chunky Monkey now and then) I much prefer local ice cream shops that make their own Ice Cream. However, the Shandon Court House-Made Pretzel Ice Cream is by far one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had the pleasure of nomming. This light, creamy Ice Cream has an excellent balance of salty/sweet and the perfect amount of pretzel crunch without being overbearing. Dessert was paired with a nice sweet/dry Riesling. Shandon Court doesn’t just do a great restaurant week they do a great every day. This is a perfect restaurant to bring friends. There is something for everyone even for the most discerning of palates, by that I mean even your most annoying picky eater friends will find something to love on the menu. Id suggest a reservation for the dinning room and a hankering for a good time if you plan on sitting in the bar area. I also recommend Quiz Night on Wednesday. It’s a really fun way to break up your week.

My husband and I enjoy a meal at Shandon Court on a weekly basis. We are always greeted promptly and warmly by the staff. We have always experienced excellent service - quick, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is cozy, warm and elegant. We especially love the table in the corner near the fireplace. The food is excellent - my husband especially enjoys the Dragon Chicken; Ive had a variety of items, from the bar menu panini to the Strawberry fields salad, and I have never been disappointed. In addition to dining there on a weeknight, weve enjoyed a holiday dinner there (Easter, 2013) which my mother described as the best and most relaxed Easter dinner weve ever had. Weve had two catered parties there as well - my engagement party as well as a friends bridal shower. The food, service and atmosphere was outstanding for both events. We plan to continue our weekly dinners out there and were positive that if we have need of a restaurant at which to have a catered event in the future we will, of course, choose Shandon Court. We cant say enough great things about this place!

bar tender inexperienced, couldnt make a simple mojito ordered a panini..and what I got was a white toast sandwich.. my french fries were burnt....we called the waiter over to ask why...and I will quote he said "what do you want me to do about it" we called the manager over and..took her sweet time to come to our table ..20 minutes to be exact. after deliberating with her...she finally admitted they have no panini press...and gave me a lame excuse , that the french fries come out that way beause they are fresh...WHAT!!!!! are you kidding me then how can a panini be on the menu...so they decide what they are going to serve you..and not even tell you what your getting.. I have contacted the Board of Health and Better Business Bureau if reference to this charade...Its unfortunate that I have to give it one star..because Shannon Court doesnt even deserve that...

Ive been to Shandon Court many times. I always love returning there as the people - the owners, the staff and guests - always make me feel like Im returning home. Even the feel from the décor makes me feel like Im back in Ireland. The food is amazing as are the drinks - AND THE MUSIC! Its a good feeling to know that whenever I walk in the service, food, drinks and entertainment are top notch. There are also those special nights from time to time when - after a lovely meal with friends - sometimes certain musicians may be there and just blow you away with unplanned performances sitting right next to you at the bar. Truly something very hard to find anywhere else Ive been. Highly recommend Shandon Court

I had my daughters baby shower on 8/13/16 in the dining room that was partitioned off from the rest of the restaurant, they did a great job. The staff were wonderful, the food great and they made my daughters feel very special. The chef was able to make my niece a gluten free meal from the choices that was selected and fruit for dessert as she could not eat the cake. My guest told me they enjoyed the meal and the service which made me feel good as some came from out of the county and state.Thank you Rosie for your role in making this day special for me as a first time Grandma and my daughter. I love Shandon Court. It is my Cheers where I enjoy a meal at least twice a week. The staff is knowledgeable, efficient, and attentive. The food is well prepared and delicious (Chef Pierce is brilliant - the Strawberry Field Salad is amazing). The atmosphere in the dining room is inviting and elegant without being stuffy (the fireplace is lovely). The bar area is clean, comfortable, and exactly what you would expect from a Irish Pub atmosphere. A small stage in the bar room features live entertainment nearly every night (never too loud, always charming).
