My wife and I went here recently for just one night to celebrate our anniversary. The bedroom was nice and quaint. We had dinner in the main dining room which was excellent and the service was great. Two complaints I have are - the rooms are definitely not soundproofed. We were woken up very early by the traffic going by as well as the persons on the floor above us. I guess that is the trade off for being in an old historic home. My other complaint is when we were checking out no one was at the office nor did we receive any type of followup email thanking us or asking us about our stay. The little things bring people back. I guess when you in there place maybe they dont feel the need to. I would definitely return for the dinner, not so sure about the overnight stay.

1770 is probably one of my favorite restaurants in the Hamptons for a great meal. It offers a romantic atmosphere and excellent service. 1770 is perfect for a special occasion, or just a simple dinner with friends. Everything on the menu is delicious and beautifully presented. The freshly baked Rosemary rolls are a real treat! The Tavern downstairs has a laid back atmosphere, a lighter menu, and often has dinner and drink specials.

To me, obviously the best restaurant in the hamptons. Sit downstairs for more casual atmosphere and get the best burger you have probably ever had, or upstairs for white tablecloth. My parents stayed at the Inn and loved it, mentioning it was Exceptionally clean down to every detail. p.s. try the desserts (financier if they have it)!...

Had dinner last night downstairs in the cozy warm Tavern Room. The fire was going and it was so toasty warm. Candles on all tables such a nice feeling. Once again the food was excellent, the meatloaf always consistant and yummy, the tavern burger the best out east here. Now is the time to go here.

We grabbed drinks and an app down in the tavern. This tavern used to be a speak easy and it still has that feeling of being hidden away. A narrow set of creaky stairs brings you to this dimly lit room, it is cozy and quite nice. They have an extensive wine list and the food is incredible.

Nicest spot in town for a birthday dinner, especially love their PrixFixe. Go a bit early before your party arrives and have a quiet cocktail in their beautiful lounge. My favorite is meatloaf in the Tavern downstairs. Call or use Open Table for a rez, it books quickly there!
