Ive been going to the Royal for about 5 years now, and over the past year ive noticed the food just isnt cutting it! Twice this month alone I have been dissatisfied with there food. Last week my husband ordered a medium rare hamburger, it came back burnt, im not just talking a little burnt, im talking BLACK, burnt to a crisp, and my sons chicken fingers had less than a quarter of chicken in them, he was served the "bottom of the bag" chicken fingers, the ones where there mostly just the bread crumbs! Today i ordered a chicken souvlaki salad and specifically asked for only lettuce, tomatoes, feta and chicken I get the salad and it has a huge handful of shredded carrots and raddicho on top, more than half the salad were those huge white chunks of lettuce that i dont eat and 2 small cherry tomotoes for $8, are you kidding me! If this salad was served on Hells Kitchen it would have got sent back and the chef would have gotten a rude awakening. Maybe if the owner would stop putting all his money into the building and using it on hiring a new chef the resturant would get a better review from me!

The food was good and abundant. I have never been here before but my overall experience was ruined by my server. The food was fast but my server was so nasty and rude that our plates were literally thrown on the table and pretty much we were told "here you go eat it" I think the server name was Kathy. I personally dont smoke and i would not like my food to smell like cigarettes but when our food was delivered the smell of cigarettes was overbearing so much that we couldnt taste our food. Again the waitress totally forgot about us but thank god she didnt come over because she was so nasty and the smell of cigarettes was going to make me sick. The only time i saw the waitress was when we got the check. Again the unprofessionalism of this waitress ruined my lunch. i would go back because the food was good but if we get served from the same waitress , I might just walk out.

By far the worst Greekery in WNY. Ordered a steak souvlaki and a open gyro. What I received was a chicken souvlaki and a chicken gyro. When I came back to the royal to return my order I was told that the meat on the gyro was seasond pork and that how there gyro meat is, and that because the waitress who took my order wrote down a chicken gyro and a chicken souvlaki that no exchange could be made and no refund could be given till the following day when te owner was going to be there. And if this was not enough when I went in because the woman behind the counter gave me no receipt she was telling other customers how awful of a person I was for wanting a re-fund. Terrible place and I am never going back. Aand to end this on a positive note the night was saved by the fantastically delicious establishment across the street the OLYMPIC!

My family and I have gone to The Royal for breakfast many, many times. Each time we just try to over-look the RUDE owner/manager who greats us and seats us. But this time we could not over-look this behavior. It was my sons birthday and my elderly parents plus other family members wanted to celebrate. We were going to be 10 and a high chair. We got such a RUDE response, he set the table for 8 not 10, then when we asked if we could also sit at a booth near by he got mad at us. He put an extra table near us all with a horrible attitude. The service was great, the food ok but he kept coming over to give us a nasty look. Then he told the waitress to clean our table to get us out. WE WILL NEVER RETURN! Thank you Mr. Greek man, The Olympic is right across the street and they will be glad to serve us from now on!

All Greek rest in Buffalo serve about the same quality of food. The Royal has a really nice lunch menu and a good, solid breakfast. Portions are HUGE for dinners! My father-in-law used to say that they only food he liked almost as much as my mother-in-laws was The Royal. Also, the place is clean and very pretty. As a Vegetarian they dont have a huge selection, but what they do have is solid. Rice pudding is delicious. Also, I disagree with the post below called "Horrible". Staff has ALWAYS been friendly there (you must have gotten someone on a bad day). Lastly, although they have a good vegetarian menu, if you want to wait in line 30-40 min and get run-of-the-mill food go to Panos.

I go to this restaurant about once or twice a month for breakfast. The food is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. But even better then the food is the professionalism, quality and friendliness of the servers...and in particular, I believe Ann is the best server I have ever had in WNY and for that matter, around the world (no joke as I traveled around the world for almost 40 years). For sure, I will always ask for Ann as she is so friendly, attentive and actually makes you feel like family. Thank you Ann, all servers and the cook staff for making my dining experience a great one each and every time I go to this restaurant.

My fiance and I were traveling home from Niagara Falls, and we randomly got off an exit and ended up at Royal Restaurant. The place was jammed. The wait was only 10 min, but we decided to sit at the counter. We were pleasantly greeted and had drinks and menus instantly. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicous. After ordering breakfast, we were surprised how friendly the staff was, considering the constant stream of people coming through the door. We had pancakes, an omelette, and homefries. It was all delicious. We live 5 hours away, and we both wished we had a restaurant like this back home!

I can think of 20 greek restaurants off the top of my head in Buffalo that have outstanding staff and service. The food is about your average everyday plain thrown together meal. Nothing outtsanding or different that sticks out whatsoever. Not to mention the staff and management need a serious course on how to treat customers. I would recomend goin directly across the street to the olympic, or a ten minute drive to The BEST greek restaurant in Buffalo Panos. At least you will be treated like a customer and not just someone paying your bills.

I worked here for almost five, six years took a break and back again, alot of food here is made from scratch, the food is amazing and we have the best cooks in wny especially Dennis who would be cooking your food in the a.m and , James who cooks your food at night are the top two cooks in the place besides bob the boss, and all of wny. And I am just so you guys have to believe me and go try it for yourself
