The only two reasons I came back to this place multiple times were the unlimited sushi and the crab legs. Since about a month ago they stopped serving crab legs!! Im sure Im not the only one whos upset about this. They replaced it with lobster, but its in some mediocre ginger sauce and it little bits and pieces that arent easy to eat. I really hope they serve the crab legs again at some point because they are steamed and so much better. The sushi is a limited selection but usually very fresh, and they have the nigiri (fish over rice) sushi; I love the salmon and tuna sushi. As far as the rest of the food goes, its pretty run-of-the-mill but a broad selection of your typical American Chinese take-out sort of food as well as some other American staples like pizza and meat/mashed potatoes. The service is alright. I will probably go back a lot less unless I see more crab legs. EDIT: They have crab legs again, as of July 2011. Maybe it was a seasonal thing? Either way, they have my business.

In town for a few days, we decided to try this place out, knowing there were mixed reviews. We went right at dinner time (6pm-ish) when food should have been fresh and hot. It wasnt. I struggled to find anything that was more than luke warm, even food that had come freshly from the kitchen. At one point, they were switching old pans to new pans (putting a clean, empty pan on the steam table and putting the food from the old pan into the new one) and there was obvious food residue on the "clean" pan. That was pretty much the end for us. There were a few items that tasted decent (the only reason for 2 stars instead of one), but most of the rest was greasy, old, or horribly overcooked. I have sincere doubts that any food here except perhaps the soup is kept at proper holding temperature.

This is my parents favorite place to eat because there is something for everyone in our large family. The King Crab legs are perfectly steamed and imagine all you can eat! Where can you go out for dinner for $20 these days? The waitresses smile when they see my Mom try to hide the 2 cookies she has slipped into her purse - to be eaten later. My favorite part of the buffet is of course, the desserts - banana cream pie, fresh fruit, chocolate pudding, and soft ice-cream covered with sprinkles and chocolate syrup. I always seem to leave with a major "Food-Coma" because I truly ate all I could eat...

Without sounding redundant, I can honestly I agree with everyone who said how horrible this place is. With our first choice closing in an hour I found this place online and figured we would give it a try. Choices of food sucked, we were being watched the whole time like criminals and my 10 month old was charged for juice he couldnt even drink from a straw. Im not one to write reviews but this place is over priced and one molecule away from being a health hazard with their stale and undesirable food. Figured I would try and help someone else from being their next victim.

The service is horrible. Went there 1 hour before closing time and ASKED the host if they were still excepting guests. She said yes and showed us to a table. After 10 mins they closed half of the bar and took the food away. I then asked for some lemon and they gave me just 1 small piece of lemon from the kitchen. The servers were sweeping next to our table while we were eating. No one picked the dirty plates from our table. Been there a few other times before, the food is not bad but the service and management is awful.

If your in the mood for watching nigglets and zipp heads taking all the mediocre crab legs than this is the spot. Whats even better is the crab legs only get replaced once an hour. Its a very clean spot and the staff are very friendly, its just the fellow customers that make it suck. So if your in the mood for crab legs just spend the $40 youll spend here on some real king crab and cook it up at home and let the scum bags be scum bags. Update; If youre White avoid this BLM rally point.

My experience was extremely postive. The clams on the half shell were the best Ive had in years. Placed on the buffet with plenty of ice under and over them. They were fresh, ice cold, well cleaned with their natural juices still in the shell. Unlike most buffets that leave shell fragments and dump the natural juices while cleaning. I also enjoyed all the other choices I made from their very extensive selection. Great job, Capital Buffet.

Officially lost my business, food they served was rotten, and cold. We were neglected and when I asked for a refill on my drink I was given a check and told they closed at 10pm and it a little after 9pm. When I got up for soft serve I was handed my things and asked to leave so they could close....it was not even 9:30pm. CHANGE YOUR HOURS!! The staff is rude, and the food is sub par. Save your money. Avoid this place if you can!

HORRIBLE. The food was gross disgusting . The mac and cheese was so spicy that it burned my throat. The only good things there was the sweet and sour chicken and the white rice. The restaurant wasnt very clean. The food wasnt fresh at all. Finally our waitress sat another family at our table when we were getting food. they didnt even notice my coat sitting in the seat! Overall horrible trip and never coming back again.

Went to eat at about 9pm and they were already putting away more than half of the food. The food was cold and bland. The staff was unhelpful and was rushing people to be out before closing. If you want to close earlier then change your hours. Or dont charge full price for a less than half an available buffet because being charged full price for only one bar of food open is ridiculous.

I used to have lunch and dinner in Capital Buffet like twice a week. However, things are changing lately. The restaurant is not clean as before, cookies smell old dated and chicken wings are not cleaned up properly. It looks like they fried the wings with feathers! Thats gross. I attached a photo explaining what I have seen. Hope everything goes back to its proper way.

Got there at 11 am,and everything except the soup and egg rolls was ice cold.Horrible. Left a dollar tip,for the iced tea that was served. Never again.Im guessing that it all was refrigerator left overs from the night before, that was just put into the steam tables to warm up.So freshness isnt a concern for them.Gross.

This place sucks. The soda from there fountain taste like mold. They need to clean that. Food too salty. I had the chef made me a hibachi bowl. There sauce was filled with MSG. My entire mouth was stained black with the sauce. Very disappointing. Disgusting food. The shrimps were rotten. Everything spoiled and nasty

It was my first and last time going to this buffet . There is not to much of a selection if your NOT a fish person . Then top it off the jello had mold on it . I took the jello off my plate and put it into a small cup .I showed the manager and they did nothing about it . So never again will i ever go there again.
