This is great restaurant, 1000 times better than the one that was there before. For $3.75 you can fill your plastic container with anything from shrimp, pepper steak, macs, chicken and rib tips and get a free soda. I find the staff to be very polite to me and I have been coming there for a while. its not easy working an all you can eat in that area, not many tips and a lot of demands. It would be nice to add a little more to their selections once in a while, only because the longer you keep going to the same buffet, the smaller the selection looks. And it would be nice to see a few different things once in a while. Over all, I am really glad they opened the buffet so close to where I live. Thanks and good luck guys.

This place is friendly,meets all fda requirements and has a nice variety of foods. Could have better choice in salad veggies and desserts though. Also this places name is not China Star Buffet but Happy Land Buffet . Right under the Burnside #4 train Station stop. Also all you can eat for under $10. However I do believe there is another dive chinese take out place also on Jerome Ave. which seemed pretty cold to me. So would never go back there again. Im almost ashamed to say that I went there in the first place. but hey I guess if youre really hungry... with me it was just peer pressure though. Well any way Happy New Year!

The only thing good about the place is the price of the food. The service is terrible, extremely rude wait staff. The place looks a mess. The cashiers area looks like a discount store, selling random items. The food was terrible if you are used to eating anything that isnt garbage. It also seems the place attracts the worst of the worst in the neighborhood. I would recommend you stay away from this place and spend your money elsewhere.

I gave it 4 stars because the food is decent. Its certainly not gourmet. The owners I am sure are well aware of that. For the price, its a good value. You get what you pay for. The staff has always been friendly and the quality of food and service is consistent. Its a nice addition to the neighborhood.

The food to me is great ,limited variety and people say staff was rude and not once have they ever been they have to deal with people in this area and trust me it ain easy!!! I live here. Food is good people in this area are just rude and expect way too much. I say give it a go

This is a great place to eat. The food is great especially the shrimp, plantains and lo mein. The staff has always been friendly to me and my family . The place is clean and its all you can eat for a decent price. The food is always hot, fresh and stacked.

Everyone might not like it here but I do. in a way its cheaper than the Chinese store. you have to watch people putting there hands in the food though ( thats why its good to go in the a.m. but you might get reheated yesterdays meanu).
