Been in Wanaque since 99, but never ventured up into this area. When we arrived, the owner (Judy) took us through all of the possibilities, order off of menu, or go for the full seafood buffet (34.95) which includes unlimiited King Crab legs. Of course, thats what we opted for. The buffet starters were soups (Lobster Bisque, Clam Chowder, or Lentil, and an extensive salad area. We went right for the fish. Clams (steamed or on the half shell, or stuffed)...all fresjh and delicious. Shrimp, (good sized,) cocktail or fried which was great. The King Crab was better and larger than your "Eat At Joes" variety. There was plenty of excellent meat choices: Swedish Meatballs, Hungarian Goulash, and a Prime Rib station. The prime rib has a terrific crust, and was offered rare, medium, or well. The drinks were large and on point. The dessert offering were extensive, many different fresh baked pies (the pecan was top notch), eclairs, cakes of all kinds. The only downside was they were short on floor help, so you had to wait for your waiter...no big whoop. Judys kindness made us feel like we were important guests eating in her home. We will definitely return.

Where do I start? This place is a designers nightmare. Where else north of the Mason Dixon line can you find neon signs, silk flowers and buckets suspended from the ceiling all in the same venue? My husband ordered fried shrimp with tartar sauce to the tune of almost $20. He got maybe 6 shrimp with a peel back the lid yourself plastic container of tarter sauce. Barely edible. The only redeeming quality about the place was that the cocktail I ordered was strong enough to soften the blow and the stink from the hours-old smorgasbord that was being covered to serve the next evening. Do yourself a favor and skip this one, unless the smell of mothballs and day-old food is your idea of "homey".

Now your talking my language. My friends come up to eat here from NYC IT IS SO WELL PRICED MY HIGH CLASS FRIENDS FROM NYC COME ALL THE WAY UP TO MEET ME HERE TO PAY $80- FOR A HIGH CLASS DINNER THEY WOULD PAY $300- FOR IF WE HAD GONE TO NYC. MY FATHER FIRST BROUGHT ME HERE AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN HERE. ALWAYS GOOD ONLY OPEN CERTAIN DAYS AND NIGHTS.

We (as a family) have been coming here for years for special occasions or even just for the crab legs. For the cost, quality, quantity, and service, I dont think it can be beat. We ALWAYS have a great meal at Town Tavern. I actually drive down from Connecticut every so often now on a weekend for the seafood buffet.

This is worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life. The buffet was a joke. Seafood was only 3 iems.the salad bar a disgrace. Steak I ordered med. Was well done and dry.and the waiter spilled the. Steak sauce from plate on the table then out my plate on top of it!

They give you a lot of food. Anyone who doesnt like the atmosphere can stuff it. Its an adventure eating there. Something new hanging from the wall is discovered every time. Best dine out entertainment in town
