My boyfriend grew up in Boonton and said when this place used to be called Rivertop, it was great. Since then, this place has gone way downhill and we are not understanding the good reviews. 1. What kind of pizzeria doesnt have a glass display of the pizza? They go to the back to get? Just seems weird. 2. If your prices change, dont keep the old ones displayed in giant letters up on your wall. People get surprised when the bill costs $5 more than they anticipated b/c they are calculating in their heads by the prices they see displayed. I questioned a dish being $2 more than on the menu and she condescendingly replied, "its only $2 extra." Where I come from, $2 is $2!!!!!!! 3. Food quality is horrible .. and Ive TRIED to like it by going back 3 times. Worst ham & cheese calzone, as said by my boyfriend & I personally experienced some of the dryest, most flavorless linguini carbonara, the absolute chewiest fried calamari & a burnt slice of pizza. 4. Could it kill them to smile at their customers? Or, even at all? LOL - If you do decide to try this place, look up at the ceiling .. they have a net hanging with about a million wine corks ... pretty cool. Is the decor worth my hard-earned money on something I couldve cooked better myself? Absolutely not!

I havent eaten there in a year and me and a friend were out for a walk last night. We stopped in to grab an Italian sandwich to go and some mozzarella sticks. We get back to my apartment and they forgot to put on any onions, they forgot the oil and vinegar (actually they put droplets of it on). Now we get to the meat. There basically was none!!!!! They put two thin slices of HAM and two thin slices of salami and one slice of provolone. It was the skimpiest sandwich I ever gotten from a restaurant. Subway sandwiches give you more. It was an insulting meal! Needless to say....i dont see any reason to go back for another 3 years now. So sad.

The food was decent but we learned the hard way to ask the price of specials before ordering. Was charged $38.95 for zuppe di pesce. It did not even include the shrimp that we were told would be in it... The amount of fish in the dish was scant. It was a surprise because the closest priced item on the menu was under $25. We questioned the price and the woman there was curt and basically blamed us for not asking first. Will not be returning anytime soon mostly because of the woman who was in charge.

Weve been fans for over a year now, taken many friends there, and we just had our first catering experience with a dinner for over 20. Joes food was a HUGE hit with our guests! The care and attention to detail he takes with everything he prepares are incredible! The guy is a class act, and you definitely get great value for your money!

Ordered a large pizza with pepperoni and 2 drinks. Was charged $25.15!! Pizza was $13.50 plus one extra item. I asked about the total & was told " you had 4 sodas. NO FREE REFILLS!" That was $10.00 for 2 sodas with one partial refill in the same glass. NEVER AGAIN! Pizza was average at best.

Great food, but dont expect a quick lunch. You have to track the woman down just to order/pay for the bill. No one smiles or is happy to see you. The chef occasionally comes to your table to talk, which is nice. The food is excellent, but service is poor.

The pizza is spectacular most of the time, but Ive had pretty inconsistent experiences here, ranging from underdone crust to wholly burnt. Its still my favorite pizza in Boonton for sure.

Small, family owned and operated restaurant. They also sell pizza for pick up. The food is good and the employees are friendly. Peaceful, quality place.

The food couldnt be more authentic. The mussels in hot red sauce are one of my favorite dishes there. I also cant get enough of the escarole soup.

Just really excellent food. Make sure you try the "Chicken all the way" sandwich with fresh mozzarella! and the "Penne with Chicken in Vodka Sauce".
